To Be Love

Farewell To Love

How many times had he driven to her place in the middle of night, heart aching for her? He had lost count. Lost count of the times he left whatever he was doing and raced over to where she was. She was beautiful, but so were the hundreds of other girls so why was it always her? It was downright crazy to go to a married woman’s home in the middle of the night, and he knew it yet here he was sitting in his car cursing god knows who for the traffic he was currently stuck in.

If it weren’t for the hundreds of people at the event he would have given a hard punch to that heartless man he called a friend. She had been so excited about tonight’s party. Her bright smile never leaving her face as she told him about the dress she had picked out. Her sweet voice telling him, she’ll see him at the party. Did Sungjae even know how lucky he was to have her by his side?

Parking his car, he quickly made his way to the door and was greeted by an unlocked door. He cursed again, it was dangerous to leave the door unlocked.

He made his way up the stairs careful not to make much noise as to frighten her. The door to the bedroom was closed but he could hear the slight muffles of sobbing through the door. Of all the times he had been at the house, he had never stepped foot in their bedroom. It was a sacred place. A place where the couple would retire after a long, hard day, just the two of them, shutting the outside world away as they laid side by side. The anger he felt during the ride had subside and instead his heart broke at the sound of her crying, so taking a deep breath he opened the door. The room was dark save for the light from the moon that shone through the curtains illuminating her weeping body sitting on the corner of the king sized bed.

“Sung-Taehyung.” Her startled voice spoke when she felt the presence of someone else beside her lonesome self in her master bedroom.

He ignored the fact that she had called him Sungjae, ignore the fact that her heart was yearning for the man responsible for her tears. She had stifled her sobs and was furiously wiping away her tears before he reached her.

She didn’t say anything to him when he reached her, but instead turned her face away in shame, too embarrassed to face the only man who knew her marriage was a failure. His fingers found its way to her face and in a careful manner he gently turned her until their eyes met. How she managed to still look beautiful was beyond him. It was a shame Sungjae had opted out of bringing her to the party. He would have gotten compliments from everyone who laid eyes on the girl.  Even in the dark he could see how she had dolled herself up only to be thrown away at the last minute.

Her plump red lips was enough to make his knees go weak, but it was the look in her eyes that made him loose his senses causing him to smash his lips against hers. It was a mistake to have gazed into her eyes, for when he did he saw the desperation in her eyes. Her desire to be loved the way she was supposed to be loved. She craved the touch of love and Taehyung had always wanted to love her, so with little hesitation he gave in to her desire.

It was wrong. He knew it was wrong, but none of that mattered to him anymore. She was in a vulnerable state right now, had been hurt to many times to think straight. He had seen her cry once and he had vowed then and there that he would never let her cry again in her life, but it had proved to be a vow much too big for him.

And if he was in his right mind, he would have pulled away from the kiss, but he wasn’t. No, he had waited far too long to have this moment taken from him again. Years of watching in silence as she played the role of another man’s lover when he knew it should have been him making love to her.

“Tae-“ he wouldn’t let her speak, afraid she would tell him to stop. The protest never came though and instead he felt her slender fingers pulling him closer to her, an action that he gleefully accepted. Feeling for the bed behind them, he gently laid her down on the bed; his lips never leaving hers. His heart danced with joy knowing that she had wanted this all along as well. Using one of his arm for support he broke apart the kiss and stared into her round eyes.

“Come with me.” He said, almost begging her. He knew he could give her so much more.  Give her the happiness she so desired.

He saw the hesitation in her eyes and held his breath. Would she leave her life behind for him? Leave her luxurious life behind for a second rate business man?

“Where would we go?” His eyes glistened, had he heard right? Was she really going with him and as he searched her face for conformation, he finally saw it in the form of a shy smile on her lips.

Placing a another kiss on her lips he quickly pulled her up from the bed and led her towards the door only to be stopped short in his track.

“Wait.”

His heart dropped, had she already changed her mind?

“I need to change and pack first,” turning around he saw that she was indeed still in her evening gown, but they were wasting time.

“I’ll buy you a change of clothes later,” he replied gently urging her to continue to follow him out the door.

~

The woman took one last look at the house she had shared with her husband before entering the car of the man who had made her feel loved for the first time in a while. She couldn’t remember the last she had been kissed so passionately yet so lovingly. After buckling her in, she watched as Taehyung hurriedly made his way to the driver’s side.

What was she doing? How could she just leave her husband like this? It wasn’t too late to go back. Sungjae wouldn’t be home yet and they could both pretend this never happened, but she just couldn’t tell Taehyung to take her back either. Not after the kiss they shared in the bedroom. The kiss, her heart thumped just thinking about it and she was sure she was losing her mind because she found herself wanting more.

“Do you want to go back?” His voice interrupted her thoughts and she suddenly felt guilty. How was it that he had always been the one to understand her the most? In the few years that she had been married, Taehyung had always been beside her in her times of need.

She turned to face him, but his eyes were focused on the road ahead of them and as she observed him she noticed he his free hand gripping this pants leg. A small smile appeared on her lips before she gently reached over and placed them over his. She deserved to be loved and this man had shown her that he could love her.

Another smile when she felt him intertwining his fingers with her and without a moment’s haste, pulled her hand up to his lips and placed a soft kiss on it.

“Sooyoung-ah, we’re here,” he gently spoke as he picked her up bridal style from the passenger seat and made his way towards the vacation home he had purchased not too long ago, second rate or not, Taehyung was an investor and vacation homes brought in quite the income. Fumbling around, he somehow managed to open the door and made his way towards the bedroom. Placing the sleepy girl on the bed he planned on leaving to sleep in the living room when he felt himself being pulled down on top of her. Her lips coming into contact with his within the next second.

~♥~

Feeling the sunrays hit his eyes, Taehyung refused to open his eyes, afraid the events of last night were merely a pigment of his imagination. Finding the courage, he opened his eyes to see a peaceful Sooyoung sleeping beside him. He couldn’t help but smile, so the memories of last night were definitely not a dream. Getting up carefully as to not disturb the sleeping girl he quickly showered before heading out the door and in no time, he was already came back from the store attempting to make breakfast for his loved one. Hearing the shower , he smiled at the thought of Sooyoung sharing his shampoo.

“Oppa!” Turning around he saw her in one of his button up shirt, her hair still slightly wet from the shower and if he wasn’t in the middle of cooking he would had run up and kissed her.

“You do know that I’m supposed to be the one doing making breakfast for you right?” She teased as she walked up to stand beside him.

“Well, someone decided to sleep in so of course I had no choice but start making breakfast,” he teased back. Her mood was definitely brighter today and for that he was thankful. He was worried she would wake up and regret her decision, but seeing her happy soothed his anxious heart.

“You do know I bought you some clothes,” he pointed to his shirt that she was wearing.

“But they were ugly oppa. You really at picking clothes, and besides I like your shirt a lot more.”

She did a slight twirl, causing the shirt to lift up a little too much exposing her bare legs and he gulped as he stared hungrily at her.

“Ow.” He had stared too long, forgetting about the hot pan in front of him.

“Oppa!” She quickly took his hand and ran some cold water over before holding the finger that had been burned. Her touch sent butterflies down his stomach and he never wanted her to let go.

“Here, let me cook oppa. You go sit down.” Taehyung happily obliged and as he sat at the bar staring at her cook. It was perhaps the happiest he had ever been and if this was what he had been missing in his whole life, he didn’t want to lose it ever.

“Oppa, how do you like your eg-, OPPA!” No longer able to resist his urge, he had wrapped his arms around her waist and nestled his head against her neck.

“Can we just stay like this for a while?” The question was left hanging and he felt a lump in his throat. It was hard to pretend that Sooyoung was not a married woman and that at any second she would tell him to take her back.

“Oppa, the eggs are going to burn if you don’t let go,” she giggled trying her best to continuing cooking the eggs beneath his hold.

”Go sit down like a good little boy and I’ll bring you your food when it’s done,” she commanded and he had no choice but to obey her. In all the years he had known her, Sooyoung had always been a little bossy.

“Breakfast is served!”

“Sooyoung, this looks fantastic.” Taking a bite of the food in front of him, Taehyung thought he had tasted a bit of heaven.

“When did you learn how to become such a great cook?” He wondered out loud as he continued to stuff his face.

“Well, I wanted to become a good wif-“ Her words were cut short as if she just remembered that she was a married woman. Her face turned paled as she realized the deed she had done and he braced himself for the dreadful “I’m sorry.”

For him, running away in the middle of the night with Sooyoung had been a dream he kept buried in the deepest and darkest part of his heart. It should had been nothing but a dream, but then the banquet happened, Sooyoung was missing in action, and now here they were; sitting across from each other eating the food Sooyoung had made.

For her, running away was a chance to escape the reality she was living in. Her marriage to Sungjae was strictly business, but she had honestly thought she could make him love her as she had always loved him. The first few months of their marriage had been blissful and she couldn’t been happier, but the happiness didn’t last forever for Sungjae started coming home later and she started to notice small changes in the way he acted around her. Sooyoung was no fool, but she decided to play the part, after all she was the one to agree to the marriage in the first place.

“What shall we do after eating? Did you want to walk around or would you rather just stay inside and relax?” Taehyung was going to be selfish, reality can wait a bit longer, right? At least until she told him to take her back, but until then she was his.

“Sooyoung?”

“Oppa?”

“Are you okay?”

“Let’s do something fun today alright?”

~

“Oppa.”

“Do you love me?”

Her question caught him off guard and as she laid in his arms he could feel her breath against his neck, silently waiting for the answer she already knew. Yes, Kim Taehyung loved Park Sooyoung. Loved her since the first time he laid eyes on her. Loved everything she did, from the way she smiled to the way she gazed intently into your eyes as if she was staring straight into your soul and nothing was going to change his love for her, not even Yook Sungjae.

“Can you kiss me oppa?”

He laughed at her silliness, she never needed to ask him to kiss her. Even if she didn’t ask, he would gladly shower her with hundreds of kisses.

The kiss was just as passionate and loving as she had remembered from the night before and it took her all she had to stop it from progressing into something more. Tears escaped her eyes and before she knew it, she was sobbing uncontrollably into his chest.

“What’s the matter?” She heard him ask, his voice full of concern that it shattered her already broken heart. How could he still love her so much when all she did was break his heart?

It would be a lie to say that she didn’t feel the slightest attraction to Taehyung when she first met him, but she was after all already engaged to Sungjae at the time and though she found him handsome, her husband to be had already captured her heart and so her relationship had been nothing but mere acquaintances; seeing him only when she went to Sungjae’s office to drop off lunch or whenever Sungjae invited him over for dinner.

Those few meetings quickly multiplied when Sungjae started becoming distant towards her. He was the one who accepted the meals in Sungjae’s place, the one to answer his ringing phone, and subsequently the one who dropped her home. With time their status became more than acquaintances and deep down Sooyoung knew the man was harboring feelings for her, yet he kept his distance playing nothing more than a caring friend. Forced to sit and watched as Sungjae and her played the part of a loving couple at events, watched as a drunken Sungjae carried her back into their hotel room. Yes, Sooyoung knew the man’s heart, knew if she kept calling him he would fall even more in love with her yet she continued to call him. Called him when Sungjae didn’t come home. Call him when she needed his opinion on dresses to impress Sungjae, but most importantly she called him so she could feel loved.

Last night was the first time Taehyung had ever made a move on her, and though she was shocked at first, she knew he would’ve never kissed if he sensed that she wasn’t wanting it. He would never do anything against her will and in that heated night, he could sense that she had wanted him.

So if he was the man willing to love her, despite everything, what did that make her? Could she wholeheartedly love him as much as he loved her? She didn’t know. She did know that if she deserved to be loved, so did he.

“Thank you oppa. Thank you so much.”

Taheyung didn’t say anything, but continued to hold her in his arms. her head he fought back tears. Why should he cry? The time spent with her in the last 24 hours had been more than he could ever ask for. He would cherished these memories as long as he shall live, never forgetting their short lived love.

“I love you Park Sooyoung. I always will,” he whispered, before closing his eyes to sleep for when he wakes in the morning, he may never get the chance to tell her again.

Don't get me wrong, I actually really ship Sungjoy. I live for Saturdays now...lol, but I mean I always have though (weekends are so much better than weekdays!)

So here's my bad attempt for an angsty/ty story. This is the extent of for me, I know it can't really even be considered . >.< I just can't write them.

I hope I didn't make Joy a dislikable character, she's just too broken and confused.

Like this story? Give it an Upvote!
Thank you!
