"Cuuutttt!"
Heo Young-ji, a supporting young new actor winced. The director's voice was irritating. His voice was like cat claws on a chalkboard. Unexpected? Yes. Deadly? Absolutely.
He relaxed and got up from his director seat once again. He pointed at Young Ji. "You," he said. "Come here. I want to talk with you."
Young Ji gulped. What did I do wrong now?
She slowly made her way toward the impatient director. Everyone gave her faces of pity as she passed by. She stopped to a halt once she was a little more than a foot in front of the director. The director may be young, around her age, but he was a strict boss.
He looked at a set of notes in his hand quickly. "Heo Young Ji..." He murmured. "You are Heo Young Ji, am I correct?"
Slowly Young Ji started to talk. "Yes sir." She spoke softly.
"Good, good." He said after the confirmation. "I need you in my office at 4. We need to have a talk."
Stammering, Young Ji said. "A talk....sir?" She gulped out of nervousness. "Why so?"
"Confidential information. Come to my office and you will understand. But now, go back to scene 3."
Young Ji slowly nodded. "Yes, sir." He her heel as she headed back to her imaginary position as the lead's best friend.
As she walked back she could hear the director clapping three times in order to bring everyone to attention to start scene 3.
Young Ji grabbed her script and started to go over them quick. I can do this. I'm a trained professional. I'll show the director, I can work hard. I won't get fired.
As the cameras start to record, she left her troubles behind and stepped into dramaland with great passion started fulfilling the role of a chaebol's best friend.
