Foreword

The park bench had always been your favourite place to rest. You would wake up early morning, jog towards the park three times and rest a while on the bench there-the bench under the Gulmohar tree. It never ceased to amuse you, how that place made you calm. Maybe it was because the view one gets from there...or maybe the coolness under the tree. Whatever it was, that was driving you magically towards that place everyday and you loved being there. After three years of daily jogging, most people knew you and they have come to acknowledge it as your official resting space.

Like every morning, you brushed your teeth, taking more time to look at how well they were shining, pulled on your favourite light  blue top and dark blue shorts and was ready to head out. As you got into your sneakers ,you could hear your mom already in the kitchen.

“Mom...am off!” you said and closed the door behind you. The City Park was quite close to your home, a few yards away. Your house was somewhat in the middle of town but the wonderful greenery  that covered its surroundings made it look like your home was on the outskirts of town, with blooming buds, greeny climbers  and beautiful gardens. Its hard to spot the house between those towering buildings.

When you were done with your daily rounds, you moved to your favourite place. But your usual smile was replaced with a confused look on your face. There was someone on your bench. You shook your head, the sweat making yoour hair stick to the side of your face. You looked at the person. He was enjoying  music, the earphones plugged in his ears and closed eyes made you realize.  He had his hands over his head like he was resting and he was tapping his foot. You made a coughing sound. It really didnt please you to see someone at your daily place. And that too a total stranger! Well...it was not lik you owned it but it still bothered you.

The guy in front of you tilted his head and looked at you. His gaze first fell on the ‘I’m Cool’ logo on your T shirt but then shifted to your face. It almost blew your breath away....his eyes. They looked black, intense and  sparkling at the same time. You shook your head again, trying to stop thinking of adjectives to describe his eyes.

“You know...thats my place!” you said. You didnt mean it to be rude but you guessed that he found possessiveness in your voice. Why am I acting like a school kid ? You thought to yourself. Instead of speaking anything, he stood up, removed the earphones and came close to you. He had his hands in his pockets and he came really close. You blinked a few  times, realising how hot he looked wearing white clothes. Almost like an angel. But he was exremely close to you that you could feel  his breath.

“This place is booked?” he asked, raising his eyebrows.

“Yeah...it’s mine!” you said crossing your arms matter of factly. You stepped back consciously. A breeze blew and you felt so good after the jogging. His black hair swayed making him look stunning. You blinked again. He found this amusing.

“What? Why are you blinking?” he asked.

“Huh? Me? Aishh...this guy...!” you rolled your eyes. He smirked.

“Well ...I guess you’ll have to share it with me from today on...” he said, his face so close to yours and walked away leaving you stunned!
