Parallel Mirror
Description
At the end of the day
we realise that
we’re in the same game,
just different levels,
in the same hell,
just different devils.
Foreword
Sehun picked out a dark blue striped tie to pair with the grey suit Jongin was to wear for work today. Jongin always wore solid colour ties before Sehun met him, but Sehun managed to convert him to wear ties with ‘character’, as Sehun called them. Sehun never failed to pick out his ties every morning before Jongin went to work; it was practically a routine now. They would stand in the walk-in closet, Jongin smiling indulgingly as Sehun stood in front of their tie drawer, picking out a tie with character before tying it around Jongin’s neck. After Sehun adjusted it to his satisfaction, they would share one last kiss before Jongin went for work. Their tie drawers were filled with ties with checks, ties with dots, ties with stripes; all of which were bought courtesy of Sehun.
Sehun would smile as he waved to Jongin at the front door, watching Jongin revving his car to get to work. Then he would stand there for a couple of minutes, trying to convince himself that there was nothing wrong. Sometimes the guilty feeling went away; sometimes it haunted him throughout the day. His conscious was insatiable today, guilt pricking him as his mind told him he was wrong, wrong to be changing the image of the man that was now his lover so that he would look more like him.
Yes, him. He had always worn ties with character, scorning the usual boring ties.
