Sunshine & City Lights
The Probability of UsHappiness and warmth was all I felt as I scrolled through my computer. “IKON to debut on September 15” was the article title. This is it. He’s finally debuting! Harbin and I have been dating for the past 3 months secretly. It’s nothing official, though. I don’t mind. I understand that he wants to protect me. But I haven’t met any of the members yet which is fine if you think about the fact that my friends have no clue I’m actually seeing someone. I try to put it at the back of my head whenever I think about it. Right now, I couldn’t be happier. He’s worked so hard. He deserves all of the good things bound to come. All of them.
It was almost 12 o ‘clock so I decided it would be fine to call Hanbin.
“Hey! Did you read the article I sent you?” the voice on the line answered immediately.
“I did! Congrats! I’m so happy for you right now!”
“I cried when he told us this morning,” he said.
“No way,” I giggled.
“Yeah. It’s been an overwhelming day. I feel great things are about to come.”
“To better days!”
“How was your day?”
“Well, I got by without breaking down so that’s nice,” my smile started to fade away. I was tired - being a working student is not easy.
“Hey, you can do this. Okay?”
“Don’t say that.”
“What? That you can do this?”
“No. What you said after.”
“Okay?”
“You said it again. Let’s not use that word.”
“Why not?”
“Nothing should ever be just that. I’d rather things be going bad. Life’s suppose to be great.”
“Okay,” I just knew the idiot was smiling. “I’m just messing with you. Things will get better.”
“I really hope so. Are you still at the studio? Can we go out?”
“Sure. Be there in 5.”
I tried to ignore the fact that I had to write a paper and 2 exams to study for tomorrow. My mind couldn’t function properly anyway. Physically, I was drained. I decided to switch my pajamas for a black tank top, grey hoodie and jeans paired with my black converse. I put on my cap after putting on some light make-up. Ever since last month, this was how it’s been whenever I went out with Hanbin. We had to blend in, be unnoticeable. It was best for the both of us.
He fetched me in an uber. This was our routine. We have dates every other weekend when he’s not visiting his family and on weeknights, no earlier than 10pm, when we just want to hang out or eat.
I gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek as I got in. “Congrats!”
“Thanks. Long day?” he was wearing the same outfit as me only he was sporting a green hoodie.
“Sort of.” I made myself comfortable in my seat. “Where are we going?”
“Remember when you told me to try something new or talk to someone new whenever you feel sad for no reason?”
I nodded. It was during the second time we met. “But I know why I’m unhappy.”
“It doesn’t matter. I’m taking you somewhere I’m pretty sure you’ve never been to.”
We got off at a sketchy warehouse. There was a line outside and I could hear music from the inside.
“Are we going to get in trouble for this?” I asked warily.
He just laughed and said, “Only one way to find out.”
I looked around me. I noticed that most of the people were around my age, dressed in hiphop inspired ensembles. It was only then that I realized we were in some kind of hip hop nigh
