Foreword
+ So I was just eating ice cream with my dog next to me when I suddenly remembered the story of Hachiko. I'm sure most of you know it since it's pretty famous, but if you don't you can read about it here if you want. ^-^ If you don't want to (XD lol) I'll give you the gist.
Hachiko was an Akita Inu born in Japan on November 10, 1923. His owner was a man named Hidesaburo Ueno, a professor at the University of Tokyo. Everyday, Hachiko would greet his owner at the train station at the end of the day and they would walk home together. One day, Ueno died of a brain hemorrhage and didn't return to the train station. Each day for the next 9 years, 9 months and 15 days, Hachiko waited at the station for Ueno's return. People who saw at first weren't very kind, but soon people were giving him treats and food as he waited to make sure Hachiko was eating. At 11-years-old, Hachiko died on March 8, 1935. Not of old age or fatigue, but it was revealed that he had terminal cancer and a filaria infection. He also had 4 yakitori skewers in his stomach, but they did not damage his stomach nor cause his death. Now there are statues of him in Japan, as well bronze paw-prints in the exact spot he used to wait with a plaque detailing his loyalty.
So this Jindy idea popped into my head that I just had to write. o u o Don't worry! There's no character death at the end, but there is some violence if you don't like that. It also has a happy ending! ^o^ So I hope you'll enjoy it~
