Chapter 1

The Nurse, The Idol, And A Fever

You leaned back in your chair and let out a big, well-deserved stretch as you finally finished up all of your paperwork at the office. You stacked the papers up neatly and logged off of your desktop computer just as a few of your co-workers walk past your desk.

"You must really love your job if you stay here hours after your shift just to finish up some paperwork. You have an entire week, ya kno." Her subordinate said shoving his hands into the pockets of his teal scrubs.

"Well, you know, a head doctor's job is never really finished. And yes, I love what I do. Where are you guys headed to? Looks like the four of you have plans."

"We're headed to grab a few drinks. It's been a tough week. And you're coming with us," He explained.

"I am?"

"Yea. You're always cooped up in this office and I know you don't have someone at home waiting for you. Might as well cut loose. You never know. I might be able to hook you up. Huh? Huh?!" He started bouncing his eyebrows up and down and gave a playful smirk. You couldn't help but smile because he was always such an outgoing person and he always tried to get you a date. It always failed horribly but you really couldn't blame the man for putting forth the effort. You guessed that's why you always went along with his plans. And how could you deny that?

But one thing your dorky co-worker didn't know was that you actually did have someone to go home to... more like six someones to go home to. And they were always there because youtube and tumblr never failed to supply you with what you loved most: B.A.P. Being a fan of your favorite boy group was a love life all in itself... but a very distant one. Your dreams always seemed more real and tangible but in reality the closest you could get was to touch a computer screen. What with being a busy doctor and all. Actual proximity was a fairy-tale you'd just have grow out of.

"Fine. I'll go" You finally decided, "But I'm not drinking this time. Last time you tried to kill me with alcohol poisoning."

He laughed at that. "All the better to help with your love life, my dear."

Shaking your head, you stood up and hung up your white coat on your personal hook. You grabbed your bag and followed after your co-workers and walked down the street to a local sports bar that the group seemed to visit often as they knew the staff there.

You sat at the table with them and they ordered drinks while you scouted out the place.

It smelled like beer. Not really crowded. Some basketball game was showing on the big screen in the middle of the place and even your co-workers were hyped as they drank away. You enjoyed it but you'd rather be at home watching Music Bank or Running Man or even catch up on some dramas. Or just watching B.A.P videos until you fall asleep.

You could just imagine actually bumping into one of them randomly. The group coming into this bar after a long day of busy schedules, like yourself, and having a drink to find some kind of peace. You could see them sitting at the bar that was across the way and chatting it up about something you couldn't hear over other guests. Even now, for some weird reason, you imagined the leader, Bang YongGuk, sitting at that bar with his forehead in his hand, rubbing it as if he were struggling with or worried about something.

You shook your head and looked away, trying to erase the fantasy in your head. No way YongGuk would be in this bar. He stayed on the other side of the world for goodness sake. And you knew it wasn't possible... but you looked back anyway.

He was still there.

Okay, now you knew your mind was playing tricks on you. But he looked so real... Too real.

"Hey, I'm going to the restroom." You yelled over to your friends. In response, they held up their alcohol in dismissal.

You quickly got up and walked over to the bar and sat next to the man with one bar stool between you two as you tried to look like you were waiting to be serviced. You looked over to him and tried to slow down your excitement... and your breathing.

It was him! Bang YongGuk! B.A.P leader! In the flesh! Two bar stools away!

But he didn't look so good.

Immediately, your doctor instincts came out. "Excuse me, Sir. Are you feeling alright?" You spoke some of the little Korean that you knew from watching Korean everything to communicate. You called him sir because you didn't want to spook him by being a huge fan.

YongGuk looked over to you. You stopped breathing for a second as you got a good look at the man. He was even more handsome in person. Those same eyes that gazed at you when he performed. Those same beautiful hands that held a mic. That same body that always dripped in sweat when on stage. But this same man's face seemed flushed. Pale. He was weak and looked like he could collapse at any moment.

"I'm alright. Thanks." You wanted to swoon at that y, deep voice but you were more concerned with how weak he sounded. He needed help- "You must know who I am."

Well, that caught you off guard. "W-what?"

"You're staring at me like I don't seem real."

Uh, yea? Famous Bang YongGuk, hello?! You're more shocked at the fact that you haven't woken up from this dream yet. "I do know you but, if anything, you seem really sick." You responded again in Korean.

"I'm just tired. I'm headed out anyway, but thank you for your concern. It was nice meeting you."

He laid a few bucks tip on the counter and stood up. He stood up too fast and a second later he passed out onto the floor.

"YongGuk!" You shouted as you fell to his side. "YongGuk!" He was outcold. You picked his head up from the floor and set it on your lap to elevate him. You placed a hand on his forehead and cringed. He was burning up.

"What going on?!" Your co-workers rushed over, "Is he alright?"

"Yes. He's fine." You said with a calm voice, letting them know not to worry. "He just has a high fever. So silly of him not to get his proper rest."

"You know him?" He asked in disbelief, cocking an eyebrow at you.

"Yea. He's a good friend of mine. Don't worry. I'll make sure he gets home safely."

The group gave you the most shocked look. Apparently, they thought you didn't have a social life.

"You guys go on ahead."

"Well, alright. Take care of yourself." They walked away leaving you with the passed out idol.

Thinking on your feet, you apologetically went through his pockets until you found his wallet and his cellphone. Lucky for you, a hotel card was sticking out of his wallet with a room number on it. And the hotel was a few blocks over. Now, all you had to do was get him there. You took out the room key and put his things back into his pocket.

Next you lifted him up into a sitting position, crouched down in front of him, grabbed his arms and pulled his dead weight onto your back. With a past job position of transporting patients at the hospital, carrying his weight wasn't really a problem for you. But then again he was so skinny that he didn't have as much weight on him to carry. You stood up and locked your arms to hold him up.

Okay, he was heavier than you thought.

You placed the room key in your pants pocket, hooked your bag on your arm and started out for his hotel.

This was really an unbelieveable situation. You were carrying your idol, on your back, to his hotel room. And here you thought proximity was a fairy-tale. In a way, your co-worker's hook up plan was actually a success... in a non-romantic, random meeting, thought it was never gonna happen in a million years kind of way.

Your fantasies and emotions kept you distracted all the way to the hotel and when you finally got into the elevator, you tried to catch your breath. He was way heavier than you thought and the piggyback ride was giving you your one major workout for the year.

The door opened and you walked down the hall trying to find his room number. Suddenly, you felt his body jerk on your back. "YongGuk? Are you awake? Are you-" You already knew what was coming before you finished your sentence. You held your breath and turned your head in the opposite direction.

The sound and feeling of warm vomit hitting your button-down was enough to make you gag and shudder. You would think that dealing with this kind of situation all the time as a doctor, you would get used to it. You did, but not when you were the landing pad. Fighting back your own urge to heave out your lunch from earlier, you tried to divert your focus to finding his room-

"Hyung?"

You quickly turned around at the familiar voice and almost stumbled. DaeHyun and YoungJae were walking along the hall and coming up to their room.

B.A.P was staying in this hotel. And she was looking at the vocal line. Wasn't this a dream? Was this actually happening???

"Can you two please help me?" For a split second, they looked completely taken aback that you knew their language but they immediately opened their door and motioned you to enter their room.

Now back in doctor-mode, you hurried in, found the closest bed and laid the leader out on it. Because you had a tank top on under your blouse, you went ahead and removed it then looked to the vocal line.

"I need two cold, wet towels and some water, please." DaeHyun rushed to the bathroom and YoungJae handed you a water bottle as he started dialing on his phone.

"What happened to him?" You heard DaeHyun's voice call from the bathroom.

"He has a high fever. I ran into him at the bar tonight and he passed out." Returning back to your sick patient, you lifted YongGuk's torso and rested him against yours, letting his head rest on the shoulder that wasn't soiled. "YongGuk, I need you to drink some water, okay?" You didn't expect a response as you went ahead and opened the bottled water and held the rim to his lips. You let the liquid hit his mouth and, on reflex, his lips parted allowing the water to enter. You gave rest times between sips to let him swallow and when he finished about half the bottle, you laid him back down to rest.

DaeHyun had already returned with the damp towels. You took one and began wiping the fever sweat from YongGuk's skin. You were very focused on his skin as you brushed it. From his forehead to his cheek, to his neck down to his shoulders. This was actually happening! You returned the used towel to DaeHyun and placed the clean one on YongGuk's forehead.

Suddenly, a loud slamming noise made you jump. You turned around and saw a nervous HimChan practically sprinting over toward the bed, followed by JongUp and Zelo. All of B.A.P were in the room now, and you wanted to scream and spazz and cry... but some things were more important. Then, all kinds of voices filled the room.

HimChan was trying to talk to an unconscious YongGuk, telling him he was stupid for letting himself get to this point and such, obviously not realizing that you were sitting right across the bed from him. Zelo and JongUp were trying to figure out what was going on with their leader, asking questions all while DaeHyun and YoungJae were trying to explain. All of the noise, combined, was more than enough to worsen YongGuk's headache, and even give you one.

"Can you all be quiet for a minute, please?!" You shouted, "All of this noise will not help him get better."

InstaSilence.

"And you are?" HimChan broke the silence, sounding a bit upset with your yelling. YoungJae filled him in.

"She carried YongGuk Hyung here after he passed out at the bar. She's been taking care of him."

"I'm a doctor," You added, "And he should be alright soon. It's just a fever." You took the towel from YongGuk's head, poured some of the bottled water on it and replaced the towel.

"Now that I think about it, Hyung didn't look too good earlier today when we were out on schedule." Zelo spoke up. "He seemed fine, though."

"But he was up late on his laptop last night. That could be a reason." JongUp informed the younger.

"As a doctor, I suggest letting him sleep in tomorrow. The stress of your schedule won't help him get better. Don't let him stay up writing lyrics, either. And don't worry. I'm not charging for this service."

They all looked at you hesitantly. "You know us, don't you." HimChan said after a moment.

You thought on it a minute as you checked on your patient, again. "Yes. I do. I'm a big fan of B.A.P but you shouldn't worry. I'm not one of those freaky sasaeng fans that like to stalk and do harm. I'm a doctor and I'd rather not put your lives in danger." They all seemed to ease up a bit.

"Well, thank you. I'm glad you found him then. It wouldv'e been a bit troublesome if he had to be sent to the hospital for this." In unison, they all bowed their heads in gratitude to you and you immediately blushed.

"Ah, please don't," You said embarrassed and waving your hands about, "You don't need to do that. It's okay really. Just, try to take it easy from here on out, okay?" They all looked at you with a smile on their faces and your heart fluttered a bit. That alone was more than enough to satisfy your fantisies for these lovely gentlemen that you became a fan of.

"Is there anything we need to do to help?"

"Get food?"

"Does he need more water?"

"Some more towels from downstairs?"

"I can go grab him some fresh clothes? And I can get a clean shirt for you?"

"Should we call Manager Kang?"

All of their questions were bouncing back and forth around the room. It seems they forgot about the "keep your voices down" rule that you demanded earlier. You couldn't help but laugh at them for being such adorable people. It was way cuter seeing and hearing all of this live and in person.

"That would be a big help. Thank you." You said with a big smile. With that being said, they all dispersed to get their jobs done.

You looked back down to YongGuk shaking your head. "I think I found another cause of your fever." You joked. The smallest hint of a smirk twitched on his lips. That reassured you that he was going to be just fine.

You grabbed the towel from his head and walked to the bathroom to pour cool water on it. You squeezed it out and returned to replace the towel again for a final time. Grabbing and searching in your bag, you remembered you had a cup of yogurt you always saved for a snack for late shifts. You set it on the bedside table next to him. Then you gave him a final look.

He was already looking better since earlier and it looked like the rest of the group was going to be able to take care of their leader from here.

Of course you didn't want to leave. This was a miracle handed to you on a silver platter... but like all beautiful dreams, this one wouldn't last forever.

You reached a hand out and brushed your fingertips along his cheek and slowly stood up. "I believe it's time for me to go now... get better soon, okay?" You reluctantly pulled your hand away.

As soon as you turned away, it felt like your beautiful dream had finally shattered. You couldn't stop the tears from prickling in your eyes but you did keep the sounds to yourself. When you started to walk away, it felt like you were going to-

"Don't go."

The deep voice halted you but the firm grip that constricted around your wrist almost made your knees give out.

When you turned to face him, his eyes locked on yours with a compassionate gaze. And it practically glued your feet to the floor. "Please don't leave."

Your voice got wedged in your throat. "H-how long were you a-awake..." Your tears hit your cheeks now.

"No human being on earth can sleep through HimChan's nagging." You couldn't help but laugh through the tears that just wouldn't stop flowing out.

YongGuk gave you a soft smile before pulling you back down to the mattress. He made you sit next to his head and he then moved to lay his head on your lap.He took the arm with the wrist he held and blanketed it over himself, still keeping his grip. He wrapped his free arm around you and then nuzzled his cheek into your thigh.

When he finally settled you let out a weak sigh and his hair with your free hand. "If I promise to get better soon, will you stay here with me?"

"...I never wanted to leave."

The others had finally returned and they all, including Manager Kang, had stood frozen at the door. Obviously, the sight wasn't something they were expecting between their leader and a stranger. But to your surprise, they all gave you a big smile.

"Looks like this noona will be staying with us for a while."

"So it seems." You said smiling as you looked down at the man resting on your lap.

And it looks like this beautiful dream won't be ending for a long, long while.
