Description

How was she supposed to know the old lady was telling the truth about the stupid book and mirror she was given?

Choi Soojin was normal, average, whatever you wanted to call it. She had okay grades, got into trouble once in a while, had problems. Just like everyone else. Then, she just had to meet that old lady on one of her walks. She was forced asked to take two items from her basket, and she just took the first two she had grabbed, a red book and a hand mirror. Apparently, these items would give her the adventure of a lifetime.

Right.

So how did she get into the mirror and end up in another world?

She should've just stayed at home and watched a drama.

"Oh, my darling girl," a voice spoke up from behind me, making me jump in surprise. An old lady was standing there, carrying a wicker basket and smiling at me innocently.

I bowed uncertainly, "Hello, Ahjumma."

She smiled again, and held out the basket she was carrying. "Take two items from the basket."

What.

"Um, excuse me?"

"There are a lot of treasures in this basket, and out of the goodness of my heart, I'll let you take two," she explained, looking at me expectedly.

I shook my head. "I'd rather not, no offense."

"I insist," she said, shaking the basket at me.

Sighing, I opened the basket and grabbed the first two things my hand made contact with. I took them out and stared at the book and the mirror.

"Oh," she exclaimed gleefully, "I just knew you'd pick those two items."

"Those items," she pointed, "will give you the adventure of a lifetime. Especially the mirror. You're welcome."

I smiled, which probably turned out into a grimace, bowing again. "Uh, thank you, Ahjumma. I should really get going now."

She nodded, and as I walked away, she shouted, "Have fun on your adventure, dear!"

Like I was going to believe what she said. No way.
