Explanations + Hope

Falling in love
It was during the middle of fourth period where he began to question if it was fate that brought Hyukjae to him. Ignoring the long boring lecture his English teacher was giving, he started doodling on his notebook. He didn't even know what he was doing his mind was off somewhere else while his hands moved on their own. He felt a light tap on his shoulder and turning around he saw Ryeowook mouthing something he couldn't read he wasn't a lip reader after all. His friend sighed and resorted to ripping out a piece of paper from his notebook and writing something down handing it to the confused brunette. He turned back around and unfolded the piece of paper.

'When are you going to talk to him? Spacing out won't do anything but get you in trouble!'

He looked over at the teacher making sure she wasn't looking before writing on the piece of paper.

'I can't talk to him yet! Won't it sound desperate?' He crumbled the piece of paper and handed it to Ryeowook without turning he felt his hand grabbing the paper.

Ryeowook frowned at the crumbled piece of paper and stretched it out with his ruler attempting to straighten it before writing his thoughts down.

'No not desperate what's more desperate is you spacing out like that with a goofy grin sighing dreamily. Everyone noticed I'm surprised the teacher didn't honestly.'

He tapped the brunette's shoulder handing him the paper which he took while looking at the teacher who was busy writing their assignment on the board. He wasn't surprised to see the paper straightened and neatly folded really his friend had serious OCD.

'I have decided to talk to him. During lunch, that is if I don't chicken out.' He handed him the paper.

'Great! I'll be there for you. Fighting!' Once again the paper was back in the brunette's hands. He smiled at his friend's encouraging words. A while later the bell rang signaling the start of lunch. Both males made their way towards their lockers dumping everything in them before heading to lunch.

Ryeowook as always had his dosirak (Korean lunch box) since he hated making line plus he only ate stuff he made well mostly at school anyways. So while Ryeowook sat at their usual table Donghae made line for both him and Sungmin both boys preferred the school's lunch over their own cooking. Ryeowook had offered to make them lunch but they refused. Sure Sungmin knew how to cook but only the basics while Ryeowook went all out. Plus the school's lunch wasn't bad anyways it was a huge buffet.

So as Donghae paid for both he grabbed two trays waiting for Sungmin to appear so they both would browse through the buffet. A while later as he was stuffing a bowl with rice he saw Sungmin appear and the brunette handed him his tray which he took and started serving himself Donghae doing the same. Both boys started talking when they heard a voice behind.

"And this here is the school's aegyo king Sungmin. Next to him is Donghae our lively always cheerful East Sea." Donghae didn't have to turn around to know that voice belonged to Heenim.

The girl tapped both to turn and Sungmin was the first followed by Donghae. Both guys' eyes widened when they saw Hyukjae next to her.

"And this is my uh cousin Lee Hyukjae." She introduced.

"Donghae? I thought I saw you earlier was that really you in my business class?" He asked smiling at the brunette who returned the smile nervously.

"If you have it for first period then yes that was me I didn't know you enrolled here." He spoke as Hyukjae served himself some rice.

"Why didn't you talk to me?" He asked trying not to sound hurt. He thought they were friends after all.

"Oh sorry I slept during that class. Business isn't my thing." He lied about the first part.

Hyukjae nodded understanding "I know what you mean." Donghae was about to question him when Heenim interrupted gently elbowing Hyukjae.

"Well it's good you three know each other-"

"They know each other?" A new voice that belonged to Siwon interrupted making Heenim scowl.

"Yes they do now I'm done picking lets go sit down." She suggested.

"Just because you're done doesn't mean we are too. No wonder you're so thin." Siwon started as he stared at the blonde's food.

"Blame my metabolism will you?" She stated more than asked as she stomped towards a table where Ryeowook motioned her to.

"Well I guess I better get started before Heenim drags me along." Hyukjae said going over to check the other meals. Donghae followed him making suggestions for the dark haired boy who gladly took them in. Siwon frowned at the sight and soon after felt something poking his frown.

"That frown doesn't suit you. You done?" He turned to Sungmin who had spoken and only nodded following him towards the table the other two where seated at.

A few moments later both Hyukjae and Donghae appeared with their trays in hand and sat next to each other.

"I'm pretty sure Hangeng is annoyed by now." Siwon said taking a sip from his green tea watching Heenim keep texting ignoring her food in front of her.

"I'm pretty sure you don't know my Hannie would never get annoyed by me." Heenim retorted as she began picking at her fruit salad first.

Sungmin spoke up after gulping down his hot noodles "Back at the locker rooms I saw some girls heading in. I was going to stop them seeing as it's boys only but I ended up being pushed away." He said slurping some more noodles afterwards.

"And you gave up?" Heenim frowned as Sungmin nodded "I don't like girls. No offense to you."

"None taken." Siwon snorted at Heenim's response causing her to elbow him hard.

Ryeowook who had stood up to get his key to his locker room from his locker where he forgot it and would later need for gym class had come back in time to hear their conversation.

"If this is about your Hannie I don't think he'll be here anytime soon." Ryeowook chirped from behind Donghae who scooted closer to Hyukjae allowing Ryeowook to take a seat.

"Why?" She asked though she knew the answer and just wanted confirmation.

"I went back to my locker and passed by the locker rooms on my way here and saw him surrounded by his fan girls, they're all up on him in there." He simply said while eating his kimchi missing Heenim's glare.

"I knew it!" Standing up she made her way towards the guys' locker rooms ignoring Siwon's whisper to Hyukjae about Chulzilla something he didn't care to decipher.

Sure enough his fan girls were all up on him while he opened his locker stuffing his Adidas sports bag inside. He closed it and made sure it really did close since last time he thought it did it ended up being stuffed with love letters and sweets he knew not to eat plus other stuff he'd rather not mention but prompted Heenim to use gloves and disinfect his locker completely.

He was trying to pass through the mob of girls in front of him trying hard not to push them away.

"Excuse me I really need to get to the cafeteria." He started hoping they would let him go but he knew it wouldn't happen.

"Hangeng we don't care if you're taken doesn't mean you can't flirt right?" One of them whined.

"It means the total opposite now please move away I don't want to push any of you." He sighed impatiently wishing his possessive girlfriend was here to save and claim him.

"Oh he's such a gentleman!" One yelled excitedly.

"Aren't you girls hungry? Hurry to the cafeteria before it's too late!" He tried to reason though he knew it was a stupid comment since these girls looked more like they'd rather starve themselves.

"Aww he cares about us!" One squealed.

"Actually I don't. Excuse me I need to get to my girlfriend she must be worried and I-" He was interrupted when one of them grabbed his hand.

"Don't talk about your girlfriend when you're with us." Heenim had enough. She walked over to them and slapped the girl's hands off his pulling Hangeng by his tie to then smash her lips to his. She felt her boyfriend smile through the kiss and though he wouldn't admit it, he secretly loved his girlfriend's possessiveness.

Heenim made sure the girls saw her tongue insert inside his mouth as Hangeng wrapped his arms around her waist as she pulled him closer by his neck. 'Thats right es this man is forever taken by me. He's mine.' She smirked when she let go and her Hannie pecked her nose still smiling.

"C'mon Hannie our friends are waiting for us." She said taking out a watermelon scented germ-x from her duffel bag and pouring a huge amount on his palm. Hangeng couldn't help but roll his eyes but smiled nonetheless as he rubbed the liquid in his hands. That girl had touched his hands it was only fair he'd sanitize would be Heenim's argument.

He grabbed her hand intertwining them "Yes babe lets go." He said earning a smile from the beauty next to him. As they were walking out Heenim couldn't help but turn around sticking her tongue out in victory and flipping off the fuming girls behind them.

After Donghae had scooted closer to him Hyukjae couldn't control the heat rising on his face. He didn't know why he even felt like this. Kyuhyun and Yesung were both males and they too would get this close as well.

"Hyukkie, would you like to come to study with us at the cafe today?" Donghae asked oblivious to the frown Siwon had given him upon hearing such nickname in which Sungmin once again poked his frown away.

"Sure I'd love to." He responded looking over at Donghae who smiled happily "Fishy." He added and gave Donghae and amused look when he saw the male next to him blush and hide his face in Ryeowook's shoulder. He was shaking lightly and Hyukjae thought it was cute he wanted to see him like that more often. Did it make him a sadist though? No Donghae wasn't suffering he was more like shy. He was about to apologize when Donghae spoke first.

"Fishy huh? I like it!" He grinned that grin Hyukjae enjoyed suddenly hugging the latter tightly. The dark haired male only smiled ignoring his beating heart as he hugged him back. The bell rang and immediately Siwon grabbed Hyukjae by the arm dragging him to his next period leaving Donghae glaring at his back.

"Siwon is hogging him!" Donghae pouted as the other boys cleared the table.

"Yah! You two stop making out!" Sungmin yelled at the couple in front of them then turned to the fish of the group. "You'll have time I mean you do have next period with him and guess who doesn't?" He smirked as Donghae ran to the boys' locker rooms not waiting for Ryeowook.

"And how would you know? You better not be lying to him." Ryeowook scolded lightly punching his arm which Sungmin retaliated with a dramatic act of rubbing his arm.

"I might've stolen his schedule," He shrugged "The guy is clueless."

Ryeowook rolled his eyes at the blond. It wasn't that Hyukjae was clueless you see Sungmin was very sneaky and slick when it came to these things. Heck he could even steal wallets out of pockets if he wanted to.

Sungmin patted the smaller brunette male's shoulder and headed out to his next class leaving Ryeowook to walk alone to the locker rooms.

Once there he saw Hyukjae and Donghae talking as they took their uniform out. Physical Education wasn't a required class it was optional and for fun only existing to relieve the students from stress and tension their regular classes would cause.

"Hey you two today is baseball." Ryeowook smiled excitedly.

"Fun fact is Ryeowook isn't athletic he hates sports but guess what? No don't guess I'll tell you! He is a really great sniper!" Donghae beamed proudly about his friend to Hyukjae who looked surprised.

"Really? Wow I would've never guessed- no offense." He said mentally slapping himself. Ryeowook shook his head "None taken."

"So he's good when it comes to batting the ball you don't want to be against him trust me." Donghae finished reminiscing. Hyukjae nodded at both before changing. Donghae turned around blushing furiously when he saw his crush taking off his shirt. Hyukjae raised an eyebrow but shrugged it off. Ryeowook mimicked his movements also changing though taking his time unlike Donghae who quickly changed and hurried off into the field after locking his locker.

Soon the rest of the boys followed and formed teams. Luckily the three remained together. Throughout the whole period Hyukjae felt really happy he hadn't had this much fun in a while and the cool breeze was making it even better. Once it was over he didn't want it to end but nonetheless followed the rest of the guys into the showers.

Stepping out freshly clean the first thing or rather person he saw was Donghae fixing his hair in front of a mirror.

"Hey! Did you have fun?" He asked Hyukjae who only nodded. "Ryeowook is already outside. He doesn't like showering here but hates sweat even more so he makes it quick." He explained.

"Oh is Ryeowook perhaps-"

"Gay?" Donghae finished for him chuckling when Hyukjae's eyes widened. "Don't worry, it's nothing wrong but no he's not gay. At least he hasn't come out that I know of."

Hyukjae sighed in relief after thinking he had said something wrong. "Are you homophobic?" Donghae asked silently praying he wasn't.

"No that's not it it's just I'm.." He stopped not sure if he should continue but did so anyways once he saw Donghae expecting him to go on "I'm bi." He confessed.

Donghae pursed his lips together tightly preventing the squeal and grin from surfacing. He didn't know if he should yell in excitement or jump the guy but alas he did none of those he simply kept his excitement inside.

His crush is bi! Gay! Still straight but GAY as well! This meant he had a chance! He smiled.

"Hey you two are you done?" Ryeowook poked his head inside when his eyes landed on Donghae he knew something was up seeing his eyes twinkle like that he made his way towards the brunette and was bombarded with a huge bear hug. He looked at Hyukjae who looked as surprised as he was.

"Wookie!" He squealed excitedly finally letting out the sound that was caught on his throat.

"Donghae calm down please." He cooed the boy who tightened his grip on him. "You're squishing the life out of me." With that he let go and grinned at him. Hyukjae came up to both setting a hand on Donghae's shoulder causing the male to blush.

"Sorry about that Wookie." He apologized as Ryeowook just dragged them over to the lockers.

Donghae set his bag inside his locker. Most of the boys being boys would keep their uniform in there and use it the next day leaving it all sweaty then use it again the next day. Donghae and his friends knew that was the reason why it smelled bad in there sometimes and they would be some of the few who took their clothes home to wash.

Heenim hated sports which was why she didn't pick gym class and instead picked theater as one of her extra classes. Sungmin waved at her to sit next to him. They sat together side by side on the red comfortable seats facing the large theater. It wasn't surprising to see guys ogling or following the girl next to him. Everyone knew Heenim was one of the most beautiful girl on campus. She had flawless milky white skin that looked soft to the touch, pretty body and an alluring attitude that the other girls lacked.

On her first day she had a few guys already confessing to her but there was only one guy that caught her eye. The only one who seemed to ignore her and her increasing popularity, the only one who didn't acknowledge her mesmerizing presence when she walked into the room, the only one who seemed to ignore her. She wanted to gain his attention sure he was really handsome and always surrounded by girls but that didn't mean she would give up.

Her Heechul side would pop up wanting everyone's acknowledgement just like on his singing days. He was used to it.

That's what it was at first. Acknowledgement.

After knowing what the boy's hobbies where she decided to join the boys' soccer team only to be immediately rejected because she forgot she wasn't a boy. Not Heechul but Heenim. Afterwards she tried but failed seducing Siwon the student body president into making the Martial arts club coed. Not long after Siwon found out her secret and forgetting about being Heenim during this war with the student president, Heechul with his contacts blackmailed Siwon into not telling his secret. Soon after both became close friends (after vowing to keep each other's secrets) everyone even thought they were dating.

Both Siwon and Hangeng where the most popular boys along with the aegyo king Sungmin. Even when both Sungmin and Donghae came out the cute boy didn't loose his fans. Donghae on the other hand gained fan boys (didn't mean he didn't have any fan girls from the start though). Anyways Siwon started seeing Heenim as his little sister sometimes being too overprotective. He granted Heenim's wish to make the Martial arts club coed and with that she got closer to Hangeng not knowing the latter already had feelings for her.

She would pretend to be really bad needing extra classes which Hangeng complied to. They both got closer over the months though Hangeng was starting to believe the rumors of Sinim being true. Siwon being the er that he is would interrupt their moments taking his big brother role to heart.

One time Hangeng saw Heenim being harassed and with his martial arts kicked the three boys' asses. After that he confessed to Heenim and she on the other hand thought the situation wasn't right and the boy only did it to make her feel protected so after rejecting him and voicing this out Hangeng created the right moment to ask out his diva and stubborn yet charming princess. And soon it would mark their third month together.

"Minnie?" Heenim turned her attention to the boy next to her who was memorizing some lines for their small skits.

"Yes girly?" He asked not looking up from his script.

"You're one to talk." Heenim laughed "What should I get Hannie?" She asked gaining Sungmin's full attention now.

"Oh wow, gifts! Let me think." He said spacing out. Heenim rolled her eyes going back to her script when she felt hot breath on her ear.

"Proof of love." Heenim smacked the boy who sat on her right. The dark haired male only laughed at the groaning girl next to him.

"Kibum stop it!" She sighed. "I'm serious here I don't know what to give that guy! I mean he's not one for teddy bears or sweets."

"Well what did you give him last month?" He asked trying to help the diva out.

"I gave him that necklace he always has on." She smiled proudly picturing the silver rounded dragon hanging on his neck.

"Oh that's a cool necklace. I offered to buy it off him but he just said it's not for sale cuz it's too precious." Kibum said in a thoughtful manner making Heenim blush slightly.

"Yah! You're not helping!" She said covering her blushing cheeks.

Sungmin next to them started listing what she couldn't slash shouldn't do "... And absolutely no cooking you at that also no-" he was interrupted by Heenim who hugged him and pecked both his cheeks dramatically.

"You are a lifesaver Sungmin!" She shouted taking out her tablet to search for delicious recipes. This period was used to memorize their lines today yet Heenim always did other stuff which was no surprise. She already had experience in acting as Heechul anyways therefor successfully portraying every role she was given perfectly.

"I was just listing what you can't do but whatever you're welcome." He shrugged.

Meanwhile at another class Hangeng was having the same problem.

"How about Jewelry? Girls love that." Hyukjae suggested as they attempted to draw the typical fruit basket in front of them during art class.

He shook his head "Heenim isn't the type to go crazy over jewelry." He said giving up completely on his failed artwork putting the brushes away.

"Well then I don't know I have zero experiences when it comes to girls." Hyukjae dipped his brush on the red paint before brushing it on his canvas.

"Yeah well I'm no different than Hyukkie but I'll throw in some suggestions." Donghae spoke thoughtfully while the other two males stared at him. "A very romantic hot air balloon date! OMO I've always wanted one of those." He sighed dreamily. Hyukjae didn't think it was a bad idea but for some reason he imagined himself with Donghae on that hot air balloon.

Shaking those thoughts out he turned to Hangeng who shook his head.

"No Heenim is afraid of heights." He explained snapping Donghae out of his daydream.

"Then a picnic!"

"Too simple."

"Carnival date?"

"None here."

"A trip?"

"Can't it's too soon."

"It's never too soon!"

"During classes? I don't think so."

"Fine!" Donghae pouted making both men chuckle.

Hyukjae peeked over to his canvas amused at what he saw "Wow you really know how to paint." Donghae only blushed again looking down at the bottles of paint. "Thanks you too." Hyukjae only laughed shaking his head turning his own canvas towards Donghae "I know you haven't seen it because if you did you wouldn't be saying that."

Donghae's face turned red "Omo I'm sorry!" He said looking at his failed attempt to draw the basket which looked more like a banana and a huge looking deformed apple that almost covered the whole canvas leaving no room for the rest of the fruit.

"It's okay." He smiled at the brunette who only turned back to his painting in embarrassment. Hyukjae chuckled admitting to himself he enjoyed Donghae being shy specially if he himself had caused it.

"Well while you two flirt I'll text Ryeowook about song suggestions." Hangeng chuckled at both also checking if the teacher was near and seeing the coast clear he took out his galaxy.

Hyukjae and Donghae both blushed at the comment. Donghae had completely turned to his canvas while Hyukjae wondered why that comment got to him.

After school came by slower than Hyukjae thought. He couldn't wait to tell his roommates slash best friends everything.

"Well we'll see you tomorrow." Hangeng said hand in hand with Heenim.

"You better not bring her too late." Siwon warned Hangeng who simply nodded.

"Yah! You're my roommate not my brother." She scolded as Siwon rolled his eyes.

Siwon decided to ignore that comment "You're both warned." He added. Hangeng just chuckled pulling his girlfriend away before she started lecturing Siwon again.

"Well off to the cafe." Donghae lead the way towards the parking lot. They saw Hangeng opening the door for Heenim then walking to the driver's seat on his dark gray Lexus then driving off.

Hyukjae got on his Buick Verano while Siwon hoped on his gray hummer. Donghae drove off not before shouting something about picking his brother up. Hyukjae watched the dark blue Murano drive off to the left while Sungmin's Prius drove to the right he knew he had to follow Sungmin since he too was going to the cafe with Siwon following behind him.

Now at the cafe they sat down at the table the three would usually sit at while Eunhyuk watched. Going back to those days he would've never guessed he too would be sitting right here with them. He smiled thinking back to the day Donghae first spoke to him. He was grateful the brunette had approached him first. They took out their homework and books they'd need.

Ryeowook started reading a passage as they followed along when the doorbell chimed they turned to look at Donghae coming in with a younger boy. What happened next caught Hyukjae by surprise causing him to turn around face-flat on his books.

"EUNHYUK?!"
