CHANGEOVER X Your style, His business

Since that night I''ve been struggling.

“Your hair…” Luhan mutters, almost disgusted until he notices the vile look I’m sending him.

That’s right, my hair. “Say another word and I’ll cut you deep, shrek – I’ll cut you real deep.” I shift from my position in this seat. We’re at the local favorite coffee shop. If you must know why, it’s because Luhan can’t live one day without having a cup of coffee and me? I just tag along, except I’ve beaten him to it. Today, I’m here before him, and before him I have reverted back to the old me. It’s so hard keeping up – being beautiful that is. I stopped wearing makeup since that night at the club and the clothes I had brought were basically like costumes. The days after that – I went to the closest department store and got sweat pants, t-shirts, jeans, and the best looking head caps out there. Now as for my hair, I hadn’t worked up enough energy to even comb it this morning. I just stormed out with a sweat suit and cap. Luhan barely even recognizes me the minute he enters the room, I just so happened to be raising my hand as a waiter called for my name. The last person I wanted to hear was this man, that’s why I came earlier. “, did you just call me shrek?” He comes to his senses after seeing such ‘tragedy’. I shrugged, receiving my cup of coffee and bagel. His breath flows freely as he sits, “Same thing she has but don’t instead put strawberry cream cheese on that bagel.” Luhan then narrows his eyes accordingly. “What exactly do you think you’re doing? You just get a makeover then go back to this ugly blimp look. This is not even being tomboyish – I mean have you seen Amber from F(x)? She’s a y woman with high tops. Now – if you need help then just say it but don’t act like you didn’t want to change for a good reason. It’s not just about wearing heels, makeup or having a decent pair of on.” I begin tearing apart the bagel in my hands, glaring out towards the window. To his credit it was enough for me to smile at his words.

“Men are such arses.” I manage to pout before Luhan laughs mechanically, “Men – that’s right. You still are thinking about Kris?” Hell yes! He ruined my view on everything. I hadn't cared about what people thought about me but for him to leave – something was definitely wrong, not just with him but with me. “I can’t even get a guy now with them staring at me like I’m one of them or worse. Since when has the world changed into such a status bro!?” I’m interrupted by a waiter approaching with Luhan’s order. He spares me a smile before raising his hand in order to say something? “Do you mind me taking a brief moment to comment?” He asks leaving Luhan to glance up uninterested but rather amused, “Ah, so you heard this woman’s big mouth. What do you have to say?” I surely didn’t expect to be addressed; was I that loud? But in a way I feel good about the fact this stranger heard me and wants to give me some advice. I need all the help I can get. “Proceed,” I eagerly listen. The waiter – very tall to say the least and extremely jovial to be honest, gave a warm smile. I see him occasionally any way but today it’s a bit different because he’s talking for longer than a minute.

Park Chanyeol clears his throat. “I think you’re confusing the two factors – that you aren’t the typical woman and being unattractive. Not a lot of men like that appearance – being unappealing concerning characteristics even if you’re an attractive person. So, you’re likely to feel threatened by everything due to the fact your style isn’t common – it doesn’t mean you’re not attractive, Rina.” He nearly has Luhan swooned the moment he speaks. This blonde headed shrek is basically batting his lashes like some person blinking dust out of their eyes while I sit here touched by an angel – or rather a waiter. “You have a boyfriend?” Shamelessly, Luhan asks and Chanyeol gives Luhan an AS IF expression. “You two enjoy your coffee. I hope you cheer up – Rina –ssi!” I stare blankly as he walks off. He knows my name! Now – no, I actually want to know just like blondie shrek. Is he single?

“I wonder if he goes both ways at least?” Luhan again smiles daringly as he waves the kind waiter off. I nod. I’d take him any day.

“So, now that you’ve been given advice from a man, what’s your plan?” I’m asked again as we sit side by side on the bus. “You know, Lu… I think perhaps my mom was right. I was a lucky girl to have Kris.” I managed saying whilst stealing a glance at a couple a few seats down. The woman sweetly giggling as her boyfriend murmurs softly in her ear irks me. They just look like two turtle doves pecking at each other’s beaks, and the worst part, she’s probably every man’s dream. The lucky woman possesses long black hair, pale milky skin, pretty eyes and ravishing lips. Luhan waves his hand in front of my spaced out face. “You like you’re going to murder someone.” He mutters, shifting in his seat. I tilt my head, “How am I going to get a guy? I mean, I don’t even want to date again if it means that when I show how I am without the costume – he won’t stay. I am a good person! I have flaws but I’m not a horrible choice.” My teeth begin grazing each other as I stomp my foot on the moving bus’s floor.

I wanted to be noticed respectfully as woman. “I’ve never ever once had this problem when with Kris. Why when we’re not together anymore I’m coming to see that I’m not accepted by those I want respect from? It’s not fair, Lu! I have a damn H line and no man will appreciate it because they think I like other women or some .” I glared towards the same couple as they happily stepped out of the bus after coming to a stop.

“Well, first of all – it’s S line. H line doesn’t even exist you pabo. And second,” Luhan proudly crossed his legs, his brows wiggling creepily. “I say we test a few things.” Just exactly what is this man thinking? He’s staring at me so seductively. That’s not good – that’s never good.

“Didn’t I tell you people think I’m a lesbian and you bring me here!?” I irritably punch him in the arm. “Just sit the hell down and relax.” My is standing in a different salon – one that cuts hair for a living. “I’m not letting them touch my hair. Do you know this is the one thing that gives me courage?” I shake my head completely, nearly running for the door. Instead, this pulls me by my hair of which he wheels me back in place. “This is the first test. I’m going to help you. I’m going to groom the tomboy in you, cause apparently you don’t see the light. You’re not a bum Rina, you need to learn to take care of yourself even when you don’t care what people think. Kris really messed you up – I mean, do you remember when you first moved here?” Luhan practically nags me to the seat (I’m due to get my cut at). By all means, I do remember. He’s right. I wasn’t this bad. Sure, I was a bit antisocial to begin with but I kept to myself and when necessary – would have a decent pair of skin tight jeans and vintage designed shirt. I looked normal and it suited me enough for Kris to date me.

So, you wonder what happened.

“Perhaps it’s because Kris literally tried to make me his guinea pig the first month I realized he wasn’t happy with me. Just like you’re doing, he took me to salons and picked out things he knew I hated and felt uncomfortable in. I began purposely dressing like a drag to piss him off…” I sat slumped in the seat, quietly but begrudgingly waiting for the man to mess with my hair again. “I guess being uncompromisingly obstinate paid off.” I’m not even aware that by the time Luhan stares at me with that pitiful pout – my hair is being snipped away. I shiver by the sudden breeze I think I feel ; the man behind me cutting away. “You mean mindlessly collecting debt ruined you, none of that paid off if you’re like this. And you brass , I am here to support you not change you. You decided to do that all on your own, alright? I’m simply giving you something you can actually work with. You don’t have to be a model for a guy to date you – that is what you want, right? To be datable?” Luhan passively narrows his eyes, a grin spreading across his face in the most delightful way. “I do,” I close my eyes frowning. On the other hand I felt quite loved. My cousin wants the best for me. He hasn't deserted me like my family. “Rina, let’s rent your house out for another party.” Luhan then says just before I’m spun around towards the mirror. I chuckled, “Is that another one of your tests? I don’t feel like it.” I say as a matter of fact.

Finding a suitable person to have my apartment rented out was tiring. It was all about how many people they would accommodate, what type of party – how many hours would I need to be out. So tiring. . .

“I already have found someone who’s interested. They said they’re willing to send you the information needed but they need a response by tomorrow.” Luhan folds his arms, settling himself on a waiting chair. I looked over to him half prompted to hear him out. “What’s the reason behind this anyway?” My head turns to him because I can tell Luhan is up to something. “Just think of it as a party that screams change.” He suddenly claps and I started to ask more about it, “Oh, hell –” I spoke too soon.

“Holy …” Finally, my eyes meet the mess in front of me. “It’s so y!” Luhan muses, placing his filthy hands on my shredded mess. “y!?!” I shrieked jumping from the chair to lean in closer to the mirror. My hair is practically gone. The only thing I have going for me is a ridiculous bang that shows a tad more length to the side of my hair. I may look a bit younger but – no no! My hair! “You’ve ruined twenty years of growth you bastard!” I spin around, attacking this idiot with my bare claws. Luhan in the midst of forcing himself to push my head back just before he locks my arms in place while laughing, “How much is it?” He sends the man a brief roll of the eyes as the hairdresser quietly tends to sweeping my locks from the floor.

Throughout the entire day, Luhan was working talking me to the core. It was a bit aggressive how he analyzed my entire personal outcome. “This is quite better than walking around stores all day, isn’t it?” He chirps excitedly as he paces back and forth in my living room. This donkey with deer eyes has been giving me lessons all day.

Nine hours of advices, life lessons and lengthy spouting.

“You are missing one thing in your life.”  If you want a man, this isn’t going to cut it. That and I just want to be fairly appreciated.
