"Pabo.." I whisper-yelled to him

'Oh God,' I prayed, 'please have mercy on the poor innocent kid. He doesn't know what the hell he's doing. Please forgive him and please don't let Gail kill him. I know he did wrong but pleaaaase!'

"John..."

'Oh noooo!' I gulped when I heard Gail call John

"Come here."

'Too late!' I waited for Gail to do anything to John while covering my eyes with my hands

"Sit down, i'll explain to you what Doctor Who is."

'Whaaat? What's happening?' I peeked in between my fingers to see Gail letting John sit on a chair in front of her. After making sure Gail isn't going to do a thing to him, I sighed in relief.

 

"You see, Doctor Who is the longest running British TV show which aired on 1963 till the present day. You know, the Doctor and his companions. Daleks. Cybermen. TARDIS. Wibbly wobbly timey wimey. Time and space. Bulb headed aliens. Something like that. Do you understand?"

We all looked at John expectantly. He just sat there, eyes wide and mouth hung ajar

"Daleks? Cybermen? Tardis? Bulb headed aliens?" Gail nodded

"Uh-huh, uh-huh, yep, and uh-huh." He still sat there, gaping, not moving a single inch.

I sat next to him and and waved my hand in front of his face

"Hey, you ok there?" He still didn't move an inch. Because if that, I slapped his back. "Yah! You're scaring us. Say something!"

"That...." he started

"That what?" We all came closer for us to hear him better.

"That... WAS THE AWESOMEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD!"

 He suddenly held onto the shoulders of Abby, who got startled by the action

"GAIIIIIL! I NEED TO WATCH IT! PLEASE LET ME WATCH SOME EPISODES! PLEASE? PLEASE? PLEASE?"

"Woah there anime, sci-fi nerd. Calm down. Yes I'll let you watch some of the episodes so right now, calm down."

"YES!" He then raised his fist in the air and jumped out of his seat

"Well okay then. Now I think of it, has anyone seen Hanah yet?"

"I'm right here!" I looked at my back and saw that she just walked in the classroom

"There you are!" She looked around the room and back to me

"Did I miss anything?" 

"Oh nothing much really. Just that Wayne and Tom fought, John got to his anime-sci-fi mode, and Gail was explaining what Doctor Who is."

"Speaking of the two troublemakers, I gotta find where they are." After that, Mae went off to hunt them

Hannah and I then sat down. That was when I realized the seat next to me is empty.

"Hey, have you seen-" I was cut off when I felt a pair of hands covering my eyes

"Looking for me?" When I heard the oh-so familiar tone of someone, I removed the pair of hands and faced him

"Kuyaaa!"

[A/N: Kuya is a Tagalog word that is used to address older guy like 'oppa' or 'hyung'. It's just that both gender could call the older male 'Kuya'. ^^]

"Hello to you too." And with that, he smiled showing his adorable dimples

"Aigooo. You're so cute!" I cooed, pinching his cheeks

"Okay. Good morning class" just then, our adviser entered the class.

"Goodmorning Ms. Lee" we all greeted back, standing up

"Please take a seat." We all sat. "How was all of your vacation?"

The class was then filled with responses like 'It was fun', 'It's too short', 'It was boring' and so on

"Since all of the important occasions are done, I'm sure all of you had a wonderful time while celebrating them so I would like you all to write all about in in a 1 whole sheet of paper in 3 stanzas."

We all groaned in response but got to work immediately after receiving a glare from our teacher

'Sigh~ What would I write? That I just waited for the clock to strike 12 in both occasions? Or that all i did was eat, sleep, use the net all day? I was even alone last Christmas so it pretty much just watching TV while constantly checking the time and chatting with some classmates'

Just then, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Tom and Wayne 

"Wae?"

"Do you have paper? Could I have 1 please?" Wayne asked, pouting

"Ani. Don't give him Jade, he's a bad person. Give me instead." Tom interjected

"Yah! That's not true!"

"Oh really? Does it look like I did this to myself?" Tom argued, pointing at the reddening handprint on his arm

"Well, was it my fault that-" 

"Mr. Kim, Mr. Lee, what is going on there?" Just then, Miss Lee interrupted their little fight by my seat

"Sorry, miss." They both bowed their heads to her

"Aish the two of you. Here's your 1 whole"

"Komawooo~" they said with aegyo

We all then started our task. 

-A few hours later-

"UGH!" I shrieked in annoyance "I can't take it anymooore. It's so boring in every subject!"

Carlos chuckled hearing me venting out my frustration

"That's ok. We only have an hour left till dismissal then we'll be able to go home after." My eyes widened when he said that

"Jinja? Yeey!" And I was in a happy mood again

An hour had passed and it was already dismissal time. We packed our bags and waited for our adviser

"Ok class. Today, we'll be switching seats so all of you move out of your seats and stay at the left corner of the room."

"Aaww. We'll be having different seatmates alreadyyy!" Gail cried

"But, but why miiiiss?!" Wailed Jack

 We all evacuated from our seats and stood at the corner of the room. We were all called out and had our seats assigned. I was sad that Carlos won't be my seatmate anymore.

-Next day-

I was seating at my new place alone since Mae is not yet here. Luckily, she's seated at my back while Hannah and Abby are sitting far away.

"Hey." I looked at my right side to see Carlos smiling at me. His adorable dimples showing

"Hey" I smiled back

"How's your seat there?" I looked at the desks next to me

"Fine I guess. Good thing Mae's at my back."

He hummed in response.

A few hours has passed and every time the teacher goes out of the classroom after every lesson, I find my breath taken away. Every minute, I always wish the teachers wouldn't come in to start the lesson. I wish we have all the time in the world.

I noticed that after we all switched places, Carlos kept on coming to my place. He would even hold my hand tightly and even seat on my chair with me. At times, he would hug me. I don't know why but I get to like it very much. I'm so confused. Do I like him or not? Is it because he does this things to me? Is it because people tease us for being together? Or is it because I just think he likes me?

 

But I realized that I was wrong. No, he doesn't like me that way. He just sees you as a mere friend. A mere sister. 

 

-Valentines Day practice-

"Ok. Everyone choose a partner! This is going to be a boy-girl dance!"

"I choose Mae!"

"Hey, Tom wanna be my partner?"

"Hey Wayne! Let's be partners!"

I looked around to find all of them having partners already.

"YAH KUYA! Let's be partneeers!" I approached Carlos

"Oh. Sure. Just tell Sean that we'll be partners."

"Okkk!" I happily skipped my way to Sean, the class secretary

"Hey Sean, I'll be with Carlos ok?" He looked surprise

"Ah ok." He then write it on the list

"Is something wrong?" 

"Uhm. We were thinking of partnering you up with Robin but you're already partnered up with Carlos so never mind about it."

"Oh...ok."

Robin actually had a crush on me since first year and until now, second year. He actually courted me back then and I answered him then we became together for 2 weeks. Until he suddenly called our relationship off. It's not like I liked him or something. I just suddenly accepted his offer since i'll feel bad if i didn't. And one, he's even the cousin of Gail Not my fault thou. I was still a new student then and I was young. He forced me to answer him by asking me through texts and even in person in our class. He kept bothering me that I just had to say yes or else he'll keep bugging me. We weren't serious about our relationship anyway. At least that's what I think so but I don't care anyway. Blame him.

"Everyone! Be with your partners and line up in front of the board so we could start practicing the dance."

"Kuyaaa! Come on let's go." I dragged Carlos in front of the class along with my other classmates and their partners

"Ok." He chuckled

-Feb. 14~ Valentines Day-

After many days of practicing our dance and working hard, the day finally came for us to perform it. All of us were in our costumes. The boys looked more handsome in their suits while the girls looked prettier in their dresses.

"Please welcome our next performers- Grade 8 Aqua!"

'This is it.'

All of us formed a straight line with our partners as we got ready to perform onstage

"You ready?" I faced my partner to see him smiling, showing his adorable dimples. He even looked more handsome in his suit

"Yep. I'm ready!" I smiled back

I took a deep breath then hooked my arm around his arm as we started walking to the stage to perform. We danced as soon as the music started. 

After the performance, we all sat down on the bleachers to wait for the results

"And the 3rd placer would be.... Grade 8 Aqua!"

I gasped. This is the first time we got a high place. Considering we were against 4th years, we still beat the other grade levels. That's great news.

We all shouted in joy. The others even asked if it was true since we can't believe it.

"Hey!" I turned around and saw Carlos approaching me. "You did great." He smiled again, making my heartbeat stop and leave me breathless.

"You too." I said back, smiling weakly.

His eyes. The look in them don't show any more feelings other than friendly love, brotherly love.

"Okaaay! We're here!" My uncle announced, breaking my thoughts. I just realized we're already here in front of our school. 

'*Sigh* who'll be my classmates this time? Wish that they'll be ok.'
