A/N: 10K words of struggling, shrugging and keyboard slamming. This has been so much writing then crumpling it and and then picking it up and smoothening it out again with a meek "okok, it's not that bad, i can fix this" i'm just dumping it here. If this travesty is worthy of dedication, then, for tessa. Who has stuck by me generally in my writing, unfailingly making noise when i secretly want to give up. you prob didn't even know.

prologue: status quo

They say art can take many form, so art is jongin in a bag of bones under a plastic clingwrap of a skin, lost in an oversized acid-green sweater. Art in a 6’1” frame, 70% legs, sprawled on Kyungsoo’s couch bathing in a pool of warm mellow sunlight pouring from the window. He is the faint rhythm of melodious breathing making Kyungsoo and his apartment walls tipsy; Swaying and swaying to every inhale. Caving and caving to every exhale.

Art is kim jongin napping in Kyungsoo’s apartment at 3pm insulated from the general distress of ordinary student life in the magnificent city of Seoul of errands un-run, arriving trains missed and exams not passed.

Jongin is an insignificant stain in the ever-changing universe so big, but a spot unchanging, unbudging, sleeping and materialising unfailingly on the beaten couch in Kyungsoo’s apartment every Monday afternoon.
