April 17, 2015:

"So...let me get this straight..." The choir director cast a suspicious glance concerning Hyukjae. "You're trying out without any prior experience in the singing field?"

"Yeah...but..." Hyukjae stammered, not really sure what he was going to say next. Maybe it was a bad idea to follow through with this whole Men's Chorale charade. 

Sungmin sat in the audience, choosing just this precise moment to scream an obnoxious "Whoo! Go Hyukjae!" 

Hyukjae felt his cheeks go warm.

The director rolled her eyes.

"Sing what you can, kiddo." Out of the corner of his eye, Hyukjae could already see her casting his resume to the side.

Growing afraid of this whole situation, Hyuk stopped.

He looked out over the audience and set his eyes on Sungmin who had two thumbs up. 

Clearing his throat, Hyukjae let the notes flow freely.
