Niel and Changhyun couldn’t help but admire Chanhee’s resilience. He didn’t seem bothered at all by the loud music, unlike the two boys he currently had the company of.

    Thump. Thump. Thump.

The loud, bass-heavy music obnoxiously permeated through the walls of the study room the three boys were in.

“Aish! I really can’t focus!” exclaimed Changhyun, slamming his pencil down in frustration.

    Thump. Thump. Thump.

“Yeah, me too,” added Niel, “Why can’t we just go over and tell them to go shut up? I really need to study for these midterms. If I get a bad grade again, who knows what my mother will do?” Niel shuddered at the thought of getting in trouble with his mother. Sure, she was a sweet lady, but she could be absolutely terrifying when she wanted to be.

“Guys, come on. Just relax. Let’s just focus on ourselves and study for our own midterms.” replied Chanhee.

    Thump. Thump. Thump.

“How the hell can we concentrate with that obnoxious music playing?” groaned Changhyun, “and besides, shouldn’t those idiots in the next room over be studying for their midterms as well?” he added.

“Yeah, hyung. Can we please go over there and tell them to turn down the music?” pleaded Niel, with wide eyes.

    Chanhee looked up.

“Now, come on guys. Just because they’re being rude doesn’t mean that we have to be rude as well. If they don’t want to study, just let them. If they don’t care about their future, just let them suffer. It’s not our problem.” replied Chanhee, remaining focused on the Physiology book in front of him.

“I suppose you’re right, hyung.” said Niel, Changhyun nodding along. The three boys then continued to study and mind their own business. All was calm for a while, even with the obnoxious music drifting in through the walls. However, the music began to grow steadily louder and louder, with the thumps getting more and more distracting. Changhyun and Niel glanced at each other, and then at Chanhee. As expected, their hyung was as calm and resilient as ever.

    Thump. Thump. Thump.

“Whoa. He’s got a mind of steel if he can concentrate with all this going on.” thought the two.

However, when the yelling and screaming started was when Chanhee finally lost it.

“Minsoo! Crank up louder! Come on Jonghyun, don’t be a spoilsport! Let’s dance!”

“That’s it!” Chanhee exclaimed, slamming his textbook shut, eyebrows twitching in annoyance. “I’m going over to tell these idiots to shut the hell up. You two stay here.” He stormed over to the door and swiftly exited the room, slamming the door shut.

“Oh, they are SO going to get it now.” whispered Changhyun. Niel couldn’t help but feel sorry for the poor recipients of Chanhee’s wrath.

Chanhee begrudgingly trudged down the hallway, glaring at whoever and whatever got in his way. After scaring a good amount of innocent freshman, Chanhee finally made it to the Room-In-Which-the-Obnoxious-Music-Originated-From. He hatefully stared the door down, as if it was the block of wood that had committed the grievous sin of disrupting his studies.

Pursing his lips together, Chanhee slammed the offending door open, only to find three boys dancing around like fools to that terrible music he had been hearing for the last half hour.

Bewildered, the three immediately stopped their seizure-like dancing and look at the intruder. The tallest one walked over to the stereo and turned it off, finally ceasing the annoying music that had so offended Chanhee and his friends.

“Can we help you?” hesitantly asked a short, blond boy.

Chanhee in an exasperated sigh before replying.

“Actually yes, yes you can,” he said. “Please turn off that bothersome noise of yours. My friends and I are in the next room over, studying for - well, at least we were trying to study - for our midterms… something you three goofballs should be doing as well.” Chanhee added, looking the three boys up and down with a rather snide look.

“Jeez, you didn’t even bother introducing yourself to us. Rude.” The blond one replied, hopping down from the desk he had been perched on.
