Broken HeartedChapter 1
September 10, 2015. Morning.
Bomi POV
I walk into the office of Jung and Associates. ‘Morning, Eunji !’ I greeted Eunji.
‘Hey, Bomi ! You’re chipper this morning.’
‘Yeah. I had a nice weekend with Chorong.’
‘Glad to hear it, bachelor.’
I chuckle and sit at my desk, ready to start a new work week. My name is Yoon Bomi, 23 years old. I’m a Junior Analyst at Jung and Associates, A stock research boutique. Basically, we issue weekly newsletters covering 100 stocks listed on NASDAQ, primarily in the tech sector. Our clients are institutional investors, like hedge funds and public pension funds. Jung and Associates is a tiny, 3-woman firm. We share a floor with other firms in the North Tower at the World Trade Center. If you told me when I was a kid that someday I’ll be working at the WTC, I’d call you a liar. The firm is headed by Jung Eunji, a 15 year Busan veteran who had the itch to start her own company. She’s 23 years old same just like me and she already married. We call her ‘Eunji’ at her request. The third woman is my childhood friend, Oh Hayoung. I’ve known her for like forever, since elementary. Yeah, the logic is kinda screwy, but hey we were elementary school kids. Like we knew any better. I’m really grateful to Hayoung. She’s the one who got me the summer internship with the firm after my junior year at Baruch College. I thank my lucky stars to be in this company because Eunji and Hayoung are wonderf
