I still remember it as if it were only a few days ago, the incident, how all of this started. I was only 6 and a half years old, when it all happened.

#flashback

"Tao, will you accompany me to the cornfields? It's harvest time". Tao's father watched as the little 6 year old smiled with joy. Tao loved going to the cornfields, because he loved the smell of fresh corn in the air. Tao jumped up and down, running straight for his father.

Tao had lived in a village in the big country known as china. Although his family wasn't as rich as other families, he was happy, because he had a family that loves him. He nodded at his fathers question. He would be delighted to come.

At the cornfields, Tao had picked many corns. He was happy, to be here with his father. He had also barbecued a few corns with his dad and his day's friends. He had fun, but that was when they heard a loud boom coming from the village.

"Daddy, what was that?"
"It was an explosion. Maybe there was was gas leak" Tao's dad tried to stay as calm as possible, because he knew, that if he panicked, so would his son, and he didn't want that to happen.

"Tao, stay here, no matter what" Tao's dad quickly walked out the field. Tao watched his dad walk far, so far until he couldn't see him anymore.

Tao waited, for a few minutes, but then the minutes turned to hours. He had waited there for quite a long time, yet his father didn't come back. He thought, maybe, he should try and catch up to his father, but wouldn't that mean he would be disobeying his father? He first hesitated, but the longer he waited, his patience started to fade away. He then made up his mind. He would follow his dad.

He had walked through the cornfield. He was starting to think he had made a bad decision. He looked up. He knew the corn would be tall, but he didn't think it was this tall, he couldn't find a way out. After 20 minutes had past, he soon realized he was lost in the tall cornfields. He tried to yell for help, but no one came. The sun was shining on his skin, and where most people find that amusing, Tao thought it was too much for his little body. He was tired and dehydrated. He had been there for too long. As the sun kept shining above him, Tao saw his vision was starting to blur, and he couldn't see well anymore. He yelled one last time, and that's when he had fallen, hard onto the rough soil. He closed his eyes, and said to himself...

"Daddy, where are you?"
