Bright lights illuminating the city, traffic builds up as people rush into their cars and ride some buses to go home to their families while others goes to mall to let the time pass by. It’s Friday night, a lot of employees spend their night hanging out with some of their friends but not all of them. A girl is looking outside her window inside her office in the 9^th floor of the building she’s working. It’s already past 7 pm and she’s still there working

 

 

“Knock knock!” a voice came behind her and when she turn around she saw her friend smiling at her

 

 

“Hey..” she said, smiling

 

 

“What are you still doing here huh?” her friend asked, she shrug her shoulder and look down

 

 

“Just finishing some papers for tomorrows meeting..” she answered and went back to her chair and take a sit

 

 

“it’s Friday night for goodness sake!”

 

 

“So?”

 

 

“You need to get out of her and come with us. Let’s have some drink..”

 

 

“Thanks but you know I don’t drink, besides I need to be here tomorrow at 7am”

 

 

“Aisht Dara, all you do is work, work, work. Have time for yourself dear..” Dara just smiles and looks at her friend

 

 

“Are you sure you’re not coming with us?” her friend asked again

 

 

“Positive..” Dara answered, her friend sighs and walk towards her and give her a hug

 

 

“I know you’ve been thinking about her again. You need to move on girl..” she broke the hug and walk away, Dara who left there sitting on her chair, clench her fist while looking at the door

 

 

Move on

 

 

She sighs as she recall what her friend told her a while ago, she lean her back on her chair, she plays with her pen on her hand then opens her drawer and took the small box she’s been keeping for 3 years now

 

 

How can I move on if I’m the one regretting now? You are always in my mind since the day I left you, since the day I said goodbye

 

 

She opens the box and look at the engagement ring her ex-girlfriend gave to her

 

 

If destiny will give me another to see you again, I promise, I won’t let you go anymore

 

 

 

 

MEANWHILE..

 

AT THE BAR (Alabang)

 

 

A group of friend are partying that night, it’s Friday night and they want to get wasted though they need to attend a meeting tomorrow

 

 

“Party! Partey!!!” Michael said to his partner Sean who is dancing on the dance floor

 

 

“Yeah go baby! Shake that booty!” Sean screamed, their friends Cynthia and her partner Grace are watching them while Anne their other friend is calling someone on the phone

 

 

“Where the hell is she?” Cynthia asked Grace sitting beside her

 

 

“I don’t know! She texted me and she said that she’ll be here any minute now..” she answered

 

 

“What time did she sent that text?”

 

 

“Ah 9:45..” Cynthia look at her watch, it’s already 11:35 pm

 

 

“I think she’s not coming..” Anne said, the couple looks at her and they can’t do anything

 

 

“Let her be. We’ll call her tomorrow about the meeting..” Grace answered but then Anne saw someone waving at them

 

 

“There she is..” she said, the two looks at the girl approaching them with a smile on her face and they know she caught a lot of attention from the girls

 

 

“Where have you been?” Cynthia asked her, irritated, the girl just smiled and motion for her to move

 

 

“It’s Friday night and you know the traffic building up in Edsa..” she answered, Grace waves at the waiter so her friend can take her order

 

 

“Just one shot of tequila please, thank you..” she said

 

 

“Don’t forget about tomorrow..” Anne said to her

 

 

“Do I have to go with you guys?  I have a lot of things to do with my work..” she answered

 

 

“Dude, Bryan hired us to help him assemble the IT department. His uncle will open a new Hotel and Casino in manila.” Cynthia told her

 

 

“I know but you guys can do it without me..”

 

 

“No, this is your own company and even if you lose that part time job of yours, it won’t affect you financially..” Anne said, the girl just rolled her eyes as her order came

 

 

“Our call time tomorrow is 7 am..” Grace said

 

 

“And here we are drinking and partying then you want me to wake up that early tomorrow????” the girl complained

 

 

“Stop complaining Chaerin!” Grace said, Chaerin being the youngest in the group can’t do nothing but to sigh, she drank her tequila then Michael and Sean return to their seats

 

 

“Woah! It’s really fun dancing!” Michael said

 

 

“Well yeah, you two danced like you own that floor, sheez!” Cynthia told the two, Sean raised one of his eyebrows and looks at Chaerin

 

 

“Glad you made it..” he said, Chaerin just smiled the roam her eyes around the bar

 

 

“Take a pick, Chae. Who do you want?” Michael asked her but Chaerin shook her head

 

 

“Nope thank you. I have better things to do than to mingle with them..” she answered

 

 

“Stop being a woman-hater. Not all girls are like her..” Anne said

 

 

“We don’t need to tell you that over and over again..” Grace butted in

 

 

“And how many times do I have to say that let’s not talk about her..” Chaerin answered them, her friends stops and looks at each other

 

 

“We’re just concern about you..” Sean said

 

 

“You don’t have to..” Chaerin answered, Cynthia senses that she’s irritated

 

 

“Okay sorry, let’s not talk about her anymore. Let’s enjoy the night and tomorrow we need to work..” Cynthia said. Chaerin nods her head once then lean her back on the couch, she thinks about her for a moment and felt the anger rising inside her, she waves at the waiter again and ask for another shot of tequila
