After the successful debut and comeback of red velvet, as well as the scandals that SM faced in 2014, Kim Youngmin decided to debut a new group in 2015, to make sure that everyone remembered SM Ent as a glorious company. Evanescent was to be the new group and it would be a drastic change from the usual girl group and boy group of SM's past. A CoEd group set to debut in 2015, with a name that won't fade away.
