Magenta Girl

It wasn't long after rehearsal for their next come back. They were all huddled together in the large living room watching a movie. Or well, most of them. There were two boys who still hadn't come out of the bathroom.

Yes, Tao, the boy who was showering, and Sehun, the boy who was sitting on the sink keeping watch. Really, all he was doing was searching for scary stories to tell Tao for entertainment.

"Hmmm." Sehun had found something interesting. He was trying to read the article, but Tao's loud singing kept distracting him.

"TAO! Do you want to hear a scary story?" Sehun shouted over his hyung's voice. He heard Tao's frantic mumbling and then the Chinese man spoke up. "No~" He said with a shaky voice. It amuzed Sehun how brave Tao could be about being a scardy-cat. While others were afraid to show they were afraid, he was dying to show it, as if it would help him not be scared.

"It's called Magenta Girl." Sehun began, and just as he did, Tao picked up on the loud singing again, trying to block him out. "IT SAYS THAT A MISSING GIRL WITH MAGENTA HAIR WENT MISSING FROM HER HOUSE WHEN SHE WAS FIFTEEN." Sehun shouted over Tao. Tao kept singing, his already shaky voice becoming an earth quake. "ONE DAY HER HOUSE WAS SET ON FIRE AND HER PARENTS DIED. SHE WAS REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN SEEN INSIDE THE HOUSE WHEN THE FIRE WAS OCCURING. THE PARENTS BODIES WERE FOUND BUT HER BODY WASN'T." Sehun stopped and looked at the picture in the article. His eyes widened. He had seen that house before. If anything it was the house from a couple streets away. "EVERY NIGHT THE NEIGHBORS OF THE HOUSE HEARD THE MAGENTA GIRL'S SCREAMS BUT EVERY TIME THEY CHECKED THE HOUSE THE ONLY THING THEY FOUND WERE THREE STRANDS OF MAGENTA HAIR." Sehun kept on. Finally Tao peeked his head out from behind the curtain and glared at Sehun. 

"Go tell the others Sehun! You know I don't like to hear this crap!" Tao argued. Sehun smiled wide. 

"Then you mean I can leave? Thanks!" Sehun said and hurriedly left the bathroom, Tao screaming for him to come back and going on about the ghost. 

As Sehun walked through the hallway, back towards the living room, he read on.

A group of high school kids entered the burnt down house, taking with them a camera. The next morning all four kids were found burnt to death in the girl's bedroom. The camera was recovered from the basement, scarce footage proving that the kids were indeed set on fire by some one, but not enough evidence to find the culprit. However, through close examination, the police were able to confirm that the Magenta Girl's voice was caught on film.

"We have reason to believe that she may still be alive." Inspector Myung Ok said after being questioned on the girls sudden appearance in the recording. "Wether she set the house on fire, we don't know. We also don't know if she was involved with the four highschool boys that died."

"Sehun? What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost."

Sehun looked away from the article and met Suho's worried eyes. He was about to say something but Chen spoke up.

"A ghost, or Tao's ghost!~" Chen waved his arms, feigning a ghost-like action. Chanyeol laughed and joined in with the ghost facade. Sehun cringed and shook his head, then turned back to Suho.

"Have you guys heard about The Magenta Girl?" Sehun asked, mainly Suho, Minseok, and Kris, the ones he knew were more mature. Suho's eyes went wide and slid his legs into his arms and off the floor, as if something might reach out from under the couch and pull on his legs.

"The Magenta Girl... you mean Jimin.... the girl who went missing, and only came home to set her parents on fire?" Suho seemed almost as terrified as Tao. Sehun nodded. 

"Yeh, I heard of her. Apparently she's still alive." Kris said folding his arms behind his head. "Her aunt and uncle are waiting for her to come home to them." He finished. Minseok nodded.

"That is, if she isn't already dead." Luhan said sitting forward. Suho nodded vigurously and turned back to Sehun. "Why did this come up?" Suho asked.

"Because he wanted to scare me." Tao said appearing from behind Sehun. He was wearing a white long sleeved shirt that was sticking to his wet torso and black jeans. "I'm pretty sure she's already dead, can we change the subject? What are you guys watching?" Tao asked turning to the tv. Oh great, just what he needed. A guy walking slowly, and cautiously through a dark hallway calling some one's name.

"Da konjuring" Kyungsoo said raising the volume especially for Tao. Tao rolled his eyes and hurried over to hide behind the couch just under Kris' folder arms.

"We should go check the house out, it's not that far away!" Sehun said excitedly. Suho and Tao both made disagreeing sounds.

"That would be fun." Kris said. He turned around on the couch and was now brushing Tao's hair with the brush he had been handed. "No~!" Tao protested. "Let's not do anything that could kill us~!" Tao went on. "We should just stay here and watch tv. You guys can keep watching scary movies, Kris can brush my hair, and I can sit here and take selcas."

"Selcas that scream Tao's a total wussy. You wouldn't even be able to wear one of your cool boy faces with the sound of the movie plaguing you." Kyungsoo argued. 

"I can be brave!" Tao argued jumping on his feet and leaning over Kris who was now trying to pick up the brush he had dropped on the other side of the couch.

"Yeah. Tao's brave when there's some one sitting on the sink, waiting for him." Sehun said with a roll of his eyes.  

"Or holding his hand. He's very brave when you hold his hand." Kris joked, earning a smack on the head.

"Or when you un-willingly lend a hand so he can cover his eyes with it." Minseok joined in. Every one laughed.

"Fine! Go~! But I'm not going with you!" Tao snapped angrily. Baekhyun let out a thankful Oh my God! 

"Good, now we won't have anyone holding us back!" Baekhyun said already slipping on his shoes. Quickly every jumped up and got their shoes and jackets. Tao watched as they all headed out the back door with their hoods over their heads. 

Tao gulped loudly, and then hurried to get his shoes and his jacket. There was no way he was going to let his brothers get hurt.

When they spotted the burnt down house, they all sprinted over to see it. Minseok, Luhan, and Sehun were the first ones there. Everyone else gradually got there, and now there were eleven tall boys standing on the side walk just in front of the house(and one more crossing the street a couple yards back).

"So, this is it?" Yixing asked looking up at the tall and wide house. "Yep, her parents must have been rich." Sehun replied. 

"I wonder what her parents must've done to make her run away." Kai said crossing his arms over his chest. 

"Probably told her she couldn't go see Shinee's up coming concert." Chanyeol said with a smile on his lips. Chen chuckled and looked around. 

"Haha, guys, look who's coming." Chen said pointing at Tao who was jogging towards them.

"Wow~! Tao you're so brave for running after us! Were you scared at home all alone~?" Luhan teased. He met Tao with a large and strong hug, to which Tao grunted annoyed. 

"Alright, we seen the house. Let's go home." Suho said attempting to lead his group away from the house. Sehun and Kai ignored him and walked up to the front door of the house, Kris and Minseok following close behind. Luhan let go of Tao and rushed after them to join the haunted house tour. "Guys, really!" Suho protested. 

"See!? You shou'dn't have let them come here in the first place!" Tao scolded. He grabbed Suho's hand and slapped the top, to which Suho replied with an irritated smack on the head. "Ooow~!" Tao complained as he stepped back. Soon he realized that he and Suho were the only ones left to enter the house. His heart started up as soon as he saw Suho walk up to the door.

"Suho!" Tao called out. Suho turned around and motioned for Tao to follow him. "Come help me get them home." Suho said before entering the house. Tao frowned. 

"Urgh, I can't believe you jerks!" Tao complained. Just then he heard his name being called by a girl from behind. He didn't bother looking back, he guessed it was a fangirl who had followed them to the house. He puffed out his chest and wore his cool guy face. If this was going on the internet, he had to look good. 

"Guys, let's go home." Tao shouted with a surprisingly steady voice before rushing inside. 

Even more to his surprise, he didn't see the members. 

"Suho?" Tao called out shakily. 

BAM

the door slammed shut behind him, and he jumped startled and turned around ready to bight off his brother's heads for scaring him, but ...

"S-Suho~..." Tao whined as he stared at the front door that stood alone before him. His eyes widened as he witnessed the lock jiggle repeatedly and then it twisted and twisted and twisted and didn't stop twisting until the lock and the doorknob itself had merged into the door. 

Tao's mouth hung wide open as he stared in horror at what he had just witnessed.

Slowly he turned back around and then he stopped frozen. Across the room there was a stair case that divided halfway up and it's dived parts lead to the left and right of Tao. At the divided area there was a short figure, the nightlight entering from the large windows behind it casted a shadow over it. It was nothing but a silhoutte, one in which scared the living out of Tao.

And then, in the blink of an eye it was gone.

Something fluttered down before Tao's face and landed on his nose. He quickly pulled it off and opened his fist to see what it was. His eyes widened and his scream was caught in his throat. All he could do was stare with wide terrified eyes at the three strands of magenta hair in his shaking hand.
