“It’s Christmas!” yells Donghae loudly in the shopping centre that they’re at, and Hyukjae eyes him weirdly. A few people turn their heads to smile brightly, because they too are in the mood for Christmas despite it being only the first of December. Hyukjae eyes them weirdly too, but they don’t seem to notice.

Donghae takes Hyukjae’s hand in his own and swings their arms to the tune that he’s humming, which Hyukjae begins to recognise as Sleigh Ride. Hyukjae wants to groan, but the cute smile on Donghae’s face stops him. He ends up tsk-ing anyway.

“Do we really need to get decorations now? Christmas isn’t even-”

“Someone’s getting coal from Santa,” Donghae rudely interrupts. Hyukjae doesn’t even bring up the fact that Donghae is a twenty-eight year old grown man, because he knows he’ll get hell from his Christmas-loving boyfriend. Either way, said man continues to drag the more reluctant man around the slightly busy department store (why is it even busy? There’s nothing special about the first of December!).
