His phone rang on the bed just as he stepped out of the bathroom. He toweled down his hair as he picked up the phone. Tao’s name and picture was on the screen. He raised an eyebrow but swiped to answer.

“Hello?”

“Gege!” came Tao’s happy voice.

“Tao, why are you calling me?”

“I wanted to talk to you.”

Tao’s pout was evident in his tone. He didn’t respond a moment and Tao sighed.

“Fine. Sorry I bothered you, Kris.”

Kris’s face fell. “No, wait. I was worried you were somewhere people could hear. I’m sorry.”

“I’m at home. I’m using my Vertu anyways,” Tao said.

“I should have known.”

“What are you doing?”

“I just got out of the shower.”

“Oh~ Are you in a hotel?”

“Yeah.”

They were quiet a few moments before Tao spoke.

“I miss you.’

“I miss you too, Tao. You’ll be in Beijing soon.”

“And you’ll see me, right?”

“Of course,” Kris agreed.

Tao let out a happy sigh. “Yay. Oh, guess what?”

“What?”

“I got a puppy.”

Kris stopped drying his hair with a towel. “What?”

“I got a puppy. Her name is Candy! She’s so cute! You have to see her!”

“Isn’t Chanyeol allergic to dogs?”

“I got him allergy medication. I posted a video and a photo. Look at them.”

Kris pulled up his social media, searching Tao’s name and clicking it when it popped up. He looked at the picture of the puppy and began to laugh.

“Oh my god. You bought a damn purse dog!”

“She’s going to grow! She’s little!”

“You bought a purse dog.” Kris laughed more.

“Gege~” Tao whined.

“She’s cute. I hope she’ll like me.”

“She likes stinky Sehun so she’ll love you.”

Kris laughed again. “Brat.”

“Oh, I have to take Candy out to potty.”

“Okay. Go be a good daddy. Kiss her for me.”

“I will. I can’t wait to see you.”

“I’ll see you soon, Tao. Go take care of Candy,” Kris said.

“Okay. I love you.”

“I love you too. Bye.”

Tao hung up and Kris set his phone down. He got dressed before laying on the bed and looking at a photo of Candy again.
