Chapter 11
Game Plan
I felt my sweaty forehead as I scanned my surroundings. I was back in the forest. Surely I wasn't dreaming again?
I hit my head lightly. I seemed to hurt. But what was I doing here? I felt my palm getting sweaty, and my heartbeat racing in my ears.
Just then, a small rustle in the leaves could be heard. I slowly went forward. A tall, dark figure appeared from the trees. He looked familiar, but I couldn't see his face clearly in the darkness.
"You're here." His voice was deep and loud. He smirked and raised his right hand up.
"You made the right choice," He reassured before about 20 figures jumped out of the shadows behind him and started hollering words I've never heard before.
Suddenly I heard my head throb. I thrashed about, hoping to get rid of the pain. A peircing scream coming from behind me told me I wasn't alone.
I spun around, only to see Minho bleeding profusely from his waist down. "Minho!!" I could only cry helplessly, unable to move towards him as the pain intensified in my head.
And then my head hit the hard ground, and I heard somone shout my name.
I tried to pry my eyes open, to get up and fight back, but my body just remained frozen to the ground.
And then I saw it- Minho was trying to fight back, but the other just snapped his neck easily. Minho gave a strangled cry before crumpling to the ground.
"No.." I whispered. I had seen it all, my parents death, unable to do anything. And now what, I had just seen my friend die?
I grit my teeth as pain suddenly shot through my body, and I felt wetness coming from my body.
There was a shriek as a girl leapt up and sprang at the men, but one easily kicked her down and snapped her neck.
I felt my head hit against something, and everything went black.
I in the air as if I hadn't breathed for a long time. I flitted my eyes around, only to find myself in my room; on the floor-- again.
"Ohmygod" I groaned, slamming a fist to my forehead. "It's another dream.." I breathed in relief.
My forehead was sweaty, and head was still throbbing like I had been there. The dream felt so real.
Oh, gosh.. why did I had to have so many nightmares in a row? I sighed, getting up to get a drink.
"Still no answer?" I asked Hyun-bin.
He shook his head, placing the phone on the table softly.
"Mom must hate me," He whispered. I squeezed his shoulders tight. "Ani. Maybe she just needs time. You found a new school, right? Now just study hard, and show her you can do her proud, ok?"
Hyun-bin nodded and sighed. "Although she's not my real mom, she treats me like a real son. I'm really grateful for her raising me. She must be so dissapointed in me." He said sadly.
I sighed. If only his mother understood him, and believed him. Things would be alot easier.
