Seungyoon mumbled to himself feeling the duvet shift next to him, reluctantly opening his eyes he caught the sight of tussled brown hair splattered across the pillow next to him. Breaking out into a smile knowing well that it was none other than jinwoo, stretching his legs he quickly curls himself back into his original position before hooking an arm around jinwoos waist.

Invading the eldests side of the bed seungyoon distinctively picks up the sound of jinwoo grumbling before pulling the teal duvet even closer to him. The content silence doesn’t last long between them when jinwoos phone decides to interrupt, stretching his arm over to the bed side table jinwoo sleepily answers the call. Seungyoon listened into the conversation curious to know who it was trying to pick up the clues that would lead to the person on the other end; however he gives up halfway deciding that sleep is more important to him. He cringed upon feeling the side of his body panging in pain not to forget he was feeling completely drained at the moment.

Jinwoo slowly got up as the duvet slips off sinking and pooling around him, shoulder drooping as he brushes out his hair with his fingers. He groggily gets up after five minutes finding his slippers before walking over to the wardrobe to gather his clothes and his bath towel.

“I’m gonna go take a shower.” Jinwoo announces before dragging his feet towards the bathroom. Seungyoon would normally call jinwoo back and lock him in his arms until he felt recharged but today he didn’t have the energy to because of the dull pain hammering into his side.

“I’ll be up in five minutes.” Carefully turning to his other side as his heavy eyes lids close.

Seungyoon wakes up to the sound of soft murmuring coming from the living room, feeling better than he was a couple of hours ago he slowly heads off following the trail of sound while being mindful of the mess in his path only to find jinwoo sitting on the sofa. Leaning against the doorway seungyoon couldn’t help but beam seeing jinwoo looking refreshed after his shower as the sunlight bathes him making him look like an angel in his eyes.

“I think we should have a spring cleaning soon, our apartment has gotten really messy lately.” Plopping himself onto the sofa, now watching the news that was showing in front of them. Seungyoon looked over the side to see the clouds stretching over the sky without the sun to be seen, it was perfect day for the both of them to go out to eat for brunch just as he was about to ask jinwoo about their brunch date the sound of the front door opens.

“We’re home.” A familiar voice echoes through the hallway, the sound of footsteps make their way to the living room.

Seungyoon grinned, “Ah yes the three musketeers who never seem to be at their own homes.”

“If it’s alright with you we can go and get lunch after we get everything out of the way.” Taehyun suggested looking over the piles of boxes by the side.

“Of course it’ll be alright, I’ll just get my coat and shoes before we can go.” Reaching over to switch off the TV.

“I’ll get the boxes in your room.” Mino said as he left the living room.

“ohh so we are doing spring cleaning.” Seungyoon got up as he watched taehyun gather some of the boxes that were filled with some clothes and other objects before heading out as well. Walking into the hallway he saw mino swap one of the packages he was carrying with jinwoo as they began to head out, seungyoon shrugged to himself as he tagged along with them.

With all the boxes packed away into the trunk of the car, seunghoon greeted them from the driver’s seat as they filled in the seats in the car. Mino sat up in front leaving taehyun, jinwoo, and seungyoon in the back.

“You know what; we haven’t had a sleepover together in a long time.”

“Yeah hyung is it okay if we sleepover at your apartment?” seunghoon asked agreeing with mino.

“You guys know you’re always welcome you don’t even have to ask.” Jinwoo let out a small smile as taehyun leaned against his side.

“I’m not sleeping next to mino though, you snore way too loud.”

“That’s a lie! The one who snores the loudest out of everyone here is you.” Mino retaliated looking at taehyun behind him.

“Remember that one time when you farted in your sleep waking yourself up?” seunghoon added fuel to the fire.

Taehyun busted into laughter recalling the event as mino fought down his blush whilst trying to defend himself. Jinwoo couldn’t help but laugh along with the youngest as the banter continued on between seunghoon and mino; seungyoon chuckled as he leaned into his seat covering his hand over jinwoos that was settled between them. Seungyoon felt jinwoos fingers twitch a little before he gave the others hand a squeeze, laying his head on jinwoos shoulder feeling his eyelids become heavy again.

He was really tired today, it was weird but he gave in to the sleep in the end as the laughter of the others drifted him away.

Seungyoon jolted up hearing the door slam, quickly heading out before he got locked in he saw the four of them walking ahead in front. He was about to catch up until he observed his surroundings, the place was quiet there were houses scattered down from across the road, the pavement he was walking on was carpeted with different leaves leading him to where the others were. He passed by a couple of shops that all looked cosy and warm from the insides right before he dashed away seeing the four walk into a gateway.

Finally catching up to them he saw that they were frozen, rooted to the ground all occupied over something in front of them.

“What are you guys looking at? Is it a squirrel or something?”

No one answered back, just as seungyoon was about to tap on taehyuns shoulder the trio walked away with their heads hung low and frowns etched into their faces. Seunghoon gave a pat on jinwoos shoulder before he left with the other two, getting more confused by every passing second he stood in front of jinwoo wanting to know what was going on.

Tears, they were streaming down jinwoos face and seungyoon felt his heart clench at the sight of it. Seungyoon watched as they turned into sobbing as cries of distress and sorrow began to pour out of the others lips, snapping out of his state seungyoon tried to get jinwoos attention.

He enveloped jinwoo into a hug hoping it would lesser the pain of cries even though jinwoo didn’t hug him back, it felt like an eternity of pain to hear and see jinwoo in this state. It was even worse when seungyoon doesn’t even know the reason why jinwoo was so devastated.

“Please come back.”

Seungyoon let jinwoo go, he saw the dark eye bags, he saw how slim jinwoos face was, and he saw the once bright and cheerful eyes were reduced to red with puffy eyelids. And it hurt.

The pain came back, the same pain from the morning that wouldn’t leave him alone.

“Why the hell is my side hurting so-“

Seungyoon couldn’t hear anything as he watched jinwoo lean down to kiss the tombstone, his blood ran cold.

It was his tombstone.

He reread the words engraved again and again like he was chanting a prayer to god; his palms grew sweaty as everything fell into place. He remembered now.

He remembered heading home with the grocery bag in his hand.

He remembered texting jinwoo that he was on his way as the green man came on.

He remembered pocketing his phone as he began to cross.

He remembered hearing screeching tires and screaming erupt.

He remembered seeing a pair of lights head towards him before he felt nothing.

He remembered that he was dead.
