Donghae remained motionless, feeling the mattress beside him shift.

The distinct smell still lingered on the air, a reminder of the previous activity that had taken place in the same room several hours ago.

The deed was done.

It had really happened.

He’s now officially mated.

To some stranger he barely knew at that.

The thought of it brings an aching numbness on Donghae’s chest.

Calloused thumb caresses his cheeks and it is only then that the brunette realized he’s been so close to tears. He shuts his eyes, biting his trembling lip. The hand trailed down his jaw, making feathery touches over the crimson skin.

“I’m sorry.” The deep voice was soft and gentle.

It took a while before Donghae weakly shakes his head.

“You shouldn’t. It can’t be helped…after all…”

Strong arms planted firmly over his hip, hauling his body closer to the soothing warmness. Skin barred against skin.

The alpha kisses his temple, ever so light and tender. Donghae shudders from the intimacy.

“I wish we had more time to know each other before the mating ritual though”, the alpha whispers next to his ears, somewhat feeling sorry. “It must be hard for you.”

“I…I understand…” Donghae croaks, trying to ignore the satisfied rumbling from his wolf as long fingers continue to his side. “It was all meant to happen anyway.”

Platinum leaned to chestnut, warm breath ghosting over the crimson cheek. Donghae opens his eyes, only to meet a pair of almond coal.

“E-Eunhyuk…”

“Shh…” The alpha shushes his mate, hand dipping down the milky thigh, muscular figure hovering over the smaller brunette.

“Let me make you feel better.” The alpha says, inching dangerously closer. Donghae swallows, deep brown eyes glazed with unshed tears, mesmerized by the black penetrating orbs.

“You are mine. I’ll take care of you.”

A heartfelt promise before passionate plump meshed with trembling thin, bodies becoming one for the second time that night.
