The door knob to my home seemed cold and distant, my hand recoiling immediately after touching the cold metal. I recall the distain my mother had held for me just this morning. My head snaps to the left as I hear my sister and her best friend approach. They giggle and cackle and I almost imagined them as old duck ladies cackling and prodding the other about their latest conquest in men. My sister was perfect. That was the one word to describe her. She was in grade 9 and has already won numerous awards and currently - unbeknown to my mother- has already dated more than 3 boys. Comparably, I was the girl who never joined clubs and felt awkward talking to anybody. I was already in grade 12 and I doubt anybody knew I existed.
