Both SM and YG Entertainment have recorded their all time highest quarterly profits, this 1st quarter of 2016. 

According to reports by Herald POP, YGE gained a total of 9.4 billion KRW (~8.2 million USD) in operating profit for the 1st quarter of 2016. This is a 32.6% increase since last year, and the highest profit earned since the label's establishment in 1996. 

 

SM Entertainment's operation profit for the 1st quarter came out at 9 billion KRW (~7.7 million USD), a 139.8% increase since last year. 

 

In addition, SM Entertainment also marked its highest sales profit this 1st quarter of 2016 by earning a total of 90.5 billion KRW (~77 million USD). YG Entertainment's total sales profit rea
