Lee Ji Eun or IU as she is called by her fans is a 21 year old famous soloist/singer in Korea (22 year old by Korean age). She came from humble beginnings working her way to the top of the Korean music industry by talent and hard work. She is considered one of the true gems of K music industry not only because of her talent, cute looks and hit songs but because she is one true artist that is still humble and keeps her feet on the ground despite the fame and success. But not everyone is perfect in this world and what her fans or the public doesn't know is that Ji Eun, like everyone else is still looking for that someone to love her who she is and not merely because she is IU. She fall in love and trust easily but when she get hurt, she backs down in a corner and find it hard to fall in love or trust again. A lot of male idols likes her but cannot approach her as they find it hard to decipher her feelings since she keeps it by herself thru indifference and friendships.
Kwon Ji yong or G Dragon/GD as he is known globally to million of his fans is a 26 year old (27 year old by Korean age) leader and member of one the biggest Kpop group known to the world which is Big Bang. He is also a famous and talented soloist singer-songwriter and fashion icon. He is literally idolized by a lot of people and not only famous on his native Korea but to the world. He is known having a bad boy and swag image which is common among musicians in the hiphop/rap genre. He is known for partying hard, drug scandal and a relationship scandal with a Japanese/Korean model. But what everyone doesn't know is that apart from his player persona, he is a geniune person trying to make his mark and talent in the world. He also want to experience being in love with someone who will be there for him and he can count on in times of troubles. Despite his fame, he is still not satisfied and is still looking for something. Being famous also comes the sadness of being alone despite sorrounded by multitudes of admiration from fans and that dissatisfaction and depression has slightly creeping out to his life without him knowing it.
Foreword
This is a story of two famous singer/songwriter in Korea. Their journey to find themselves, the sadness, hate, anger, betrayal, love and events that led them to rediscover their hidden self and fall in love with each other. The story of us is the story that we love to imagine to happen to us and I have put IU/GD as my characters in my story because I find the two of them fascinating.
I am not a fan of Kpop idols because I have these mentality that they are all fake (sorry to the fanatics but these is merely what I feel) and were not really talented but just a caricature of koreans that lip sync, dress in outrageous costumes and a mere product formed to entertain and make a mockery to the music industry. I love music as it is my guiding light in my life but I could say that I am more into the lyrics and music rather than on the overall presentation of the artist so I make sure not to see any kpop acts. But that all change when I discover IU. She is a breath of fresh air in the congested kpop industry. Yes, I know that she is not the best among all korean musicians out there but there is something about her that is endearing to me. Maybe, it's the way she handles fame and being real to who she is or the way she interacts with her fans or just because she has a charm that goes beyond her fame. She just shines without trying. And without me knowing, I was hooked, line and sinker, and become one of her fans without me understanding any of her songs. And that is my first glimpse into the kpop industry and I can say it is not cringeworthy as I thought it could be. Yes, there maybe idols that really shouldn't be there singing at all but there are also others that are talented. And all thanks to my admiration to IU.
Because of that, I decided to venture in Kpop fanfiction, a genre I am not familiar yet as I write pure fictional stories. And it is only fitting that my first fanfiction is about Lee Ji eun as she is the one and only reason why I had become a kpop fan. I want to write her as I see her so her character is merely what I perceived to be her. As for her love interest, I find it hard to pick someone as it seems that every kpop idol out there can be paired with her. I had eventually decided to try GDragon not because he is the biggest kpop idol out there but because I am fascinated by his persona. I find him interesting and I perceived him to have a different persona than his idol image. I hope that I am not wrong though. Also, his personality is an exact opposite of IU and I know I will be challenged writing about them.

Update: After so many controversies that is happening with IU at the moment, I now know why both her and GD are the top soloist in Korea at the moment. They are both revolutionaries and I believe IU will come out from all of these controversies unscathed and stronger, giving us songs that will revolutionize the entire kpop industry. I am really proud of her and because of these, I will be continuing this in the next couple of weeks and will dedicate this to all of Uaena's out there. Keep fighting!!!
