Baekhyun has always been an optimistic person. He could see something good and funny in everything. Despite that he liked being sarcastic and sometimes plain weird during conversations. His mother was proud of his way of seeing things and was glad that he kept the household lively and fun. But she expected that to stop now when she heard the news.

'' How long? ''

'' Six months '' 

Baekhyun stayed quiet for a long time. So long that even the doctor started to feel uncomfortable. The doctor coughed a little and... silence. The doctor shared a look with Baekhyuns mother who was trying her best to stay strong for her son. She got the signal and lightly put her hand on her sons shoulder.

'' Baekhyun... '' she said and her voice was barely audible in the quiet room. Baekhyuns face was stoic and he simply stared ahead.

'' Great '' he finally said.

'' What '' his mother said, not quite sure if she heard wrong or Baekhyun was loosing it.

'' I said great '' Baekhyun said and his face finally showed some emotion. He was grinning. '' Now I can finally escape this virus called stupity that's been manifesting in the human race. Hah, now it'll never get me '' He said and the doctor wasn't sure but he could swear he heard a low evil chuckle coming from the boy ( and it kinda freaked him out )

'' Baekhyun.... '' His mother said again but now with sympathetic look on her face. '' I know this is hard to digest but- ''

'' Don't worry mom I'm only joking '' Baekhyun said now smiling a real smile ( much to the doctors relieve )

'' But Baekhyun you must understand that- ''

'' I understand completely mom '' once again interrupting his mother. '' I'm dying in six months. But I'm all right '' he sent his mother a bright smile. '' We are all bound to die someday. I'm just lucky I don't have to experience the horrible face of growing old, having back aches and constantly worrying about children '' 

Baekhyun stood up from his chair. '' Are we done or...? '' he asked and the doctor could only nod, compleatly speachless because he had never seen anyone take these new so lightly. Baekhyun nodded back and went out the door, leaving his speachless mother and doctor behind to sort out the rest of his problems.

Inspired by the Fault in Our Stars by the amazing writer John Green. I loved how the book was so witty and hilarious despite the serious situation.

ummm for those of you who didn't get the description, I was referring to two fics most people who like angst have read. They are called 10080 and Anterrogade Tomorrow. 

I was really wondering if I should make this a baekyeol or suchen story. Let me know if you'd rather have it a suchen fic ;)
