ANNABETH'S POV

I nodded in recognition when Poseidon gave his farewell to me.

I felt kind of scared when I found out that Percy would be going for the quest, fearing that he would get killed or injured.

I couldn't even live a day without him by my side.That was how much he really means to me, and how much I really needed him. I assured myself that Percy wouldn't die because he have already fought a lot of monsters, gods, and even titans.. sure that he'll be safe and would be back really soon.

"Ding! Ding!" my phone rang

Who was it now?

"Hello, Annabeth Chase here."

"ANNABETH! YOUR FATHER JUST GOT TAKEN BY AN ARMY OF SNAKE MONSTERS!

It was the familiar frantic voice of my step-mother.

"What? I'm coming."

I hanged off the phone and saw Percy with his concerned face.

"Is everything okay?" He asked

"No, it's not, my father got kidnapped by I suspect, Drakons."

"We better get there quick."

Both of us took a cab to my house and it was in a mess. All the furnitures were flipped over and it looked as if it was going to be strewned apart. I saw my step brothers and mother timidly hugging each other at the corner of the living room.

Percy and I raced towards them and asked what happen.

"Lik-like I said, a bunch of sna-snake monsters came in, tra-trashed our house and to-took your father.." My step-mother stuttered, still badly affected from the incident.

I felt sorry for her and gave her a comforting hug. Which calmed her down a little more and she smiled at me.

"So what do we do now?" Percy asked in a serious tone

"I'm going to find and kill the damn monsters and get my father back."

"Do you need me to follow?"

"Let's talk outside." I whispered, as it was getting really awkward with my step-mother and brothers around.

We walk out to the grass plains and look at the beautiful night sky, we could hear the sounds of crickets and just...silence.

"Percy, I would have to go alone. You have to go on the quest to help your father." I said

"But I really want to follow you, I don't want you going alone, you might hurt yourself."

"It's the only way..." I whispered

Percy didn't say anything, but I continued.

"I'll kinda have to give our relationship a break, I have to find my father and make sure that he is safe. I might be gone for a period of time." I said the whole painful truth.

"You don't have to do this. You make "a period of time" sound really long, I can't live without you."

I looked at Percy, with his eyes full of sadness. I hated seeing him like that. I didn't like seeing Percy sad. It was like one of the scenarios if some girls bully Percy and makes him feel sad, I would be there who would go like "girlfriend power" and bark them away. No one could and would, never hurt my boyfriend or anyone I love. Never. But this time, I was the one who was making him sad.

"I'm really sorry Percy. But I have to. You know that I'll still love you as always."

"It's okay Annabeth. If you want it that way, I'm really fine with it. You just have to promise me that you'll be safe.Just call me and I'll be there. But I really can't let you go alone."

I gave Percy his kiss that he would not get for a while. I closed my eyes and immersed myself with his embrace and warmth. We hugged each other with my head close to his heart. We cuddled under the moonlight for a really long time but it was getting late so he had to go.

Jason and Piper agreed to follow me to find my father, so it gave Percy a little peace of mind. Soon, we parted ways.
