“Hey lets eat together today,” my best friend, Jinyoung suggested. I shrugged not thinking too much about it. I had been neglecting my friends since Chunji and I started dating. We were walking home from early morning tutoring.

“Sounds great, where do you want to eat?” I asked.

“Lets just pig out at the food stalls,” He suggested. I nodded.

“Sounds great,” I said.

“Cool see you at lunch,” He said. I went in to my house and decided to take a nap. Before I could do anything else my phone went off.

“Yoboseyo?” I answered.

“Hey jagiya are you doing anything for lunch today?” Chunji asked me.

“Actually I’m going to go eat with Jinyoung since I haven’t seen him in a while.” I replied.

“Aww I guess he beat me to it. Well I’ll see you around okay,” Chunji said. I could tell that he was a little disappointed.

“Yeah definitely take care okay,” I tried to make him feel better. He chuckled.

“Bye,” He said, and hung up the phone.

Poor Chunji..

[At lunch]

Jinyoung and I ate happily. We talked about everything that we missed out on, and he told me about a girl that he was interested in at school.

“Wow so much has happened in such little time,” I commented, eating a hot dog.

“Yeah, but I’m glad you and Chunji are happy.” He stated, smiling. “Hey I was wondering if you could help me find a gift so I can confess to her,” He asked. I smiled.

“Of course… how could I turn down a friend?” I replied. He hugged me.

“Awesome lets go!” He exclaimed. We went through dozens of shops and kept looking for cutesy couple type things.

“So what do you want to get her?” I wondered.

“A bracelet,” He said, clearly knowing what he wanted. I shrugged and helped him look, but I couldn’t help but find some couple rings.

Maybe I should get these for me and Chunji.

Then, my phone rang.

“Yoboseyo?” I answered.

“Eunhee are you busy?” He asked. I looked over at Jinyoung who was still shopping.

“Kind of, why is something wrong?” I asked.

“No, I was just wondering if you wanted to go catch a movie,” He suggested. I sighed knowing that I had to reject him again.

“Sorry I can’t. I’m sort of busy,” I responded. He sighed.

“Okay well I’ll go see you at your house later okay?” He told me. I smiled at his persistence.

“Sounds great, I’ll see you then,” I answered. I hung up my phone and went back to helping Jinyoung.

In the end he found the bracelet that he wanted and I bought the rings. However, on our way home I saw a chocolate store and went in to buy a chocolate covered apple for Chunji.

I hope this will make up for ignoring him all day.

Jinyoung walked me home.

“Thanks for hanging out with me today,” Jinyoung says.

“No problem, oh and good luck!” I said, hugging him. He hugged me back and left. When I turned around I saw an angry Chunji staring at me.

“You spent the whole day with him?” He commented. I looked down and nodded.

“He is going to confess to a girl and I helped him pick a gift for her,” I explained. He looked at me suspiciously.

“What are all those things for?” He wondered. I held them up and handed them to him.

“They are for you. I got us couple rings and a chocolate apple. I felt bad for not spending time with you today so I bought these for you,” I said. I saw his face soften and he put the couple ring on his finger.

“Aish… I’m sorry for being so harsh. I guess I was jealous because I hadn’t seen you all day and you spent it with Jinyoung,” He confessed. I smiled and stood on my tippy toes to kiss his cheek.

“It’s understandable but if it makes you feel any better, I thought about you the whole time,” I admitted. He grinned and hugged me tight.

“It makes me feel a lot better.” He replied and just like that everything was a okay.
