The Curse: Scarlet Tears

A small boy, a really really small boy was standing shyly in front of his teacher, his hand holding a full-bloomed sunflower as he hid it clumsily behind his back. His body was thin-framed and his pale skin was showing off his red plump lips in an obvious contrast. He was a pretty little boy.

The teacher, seated on her chair, looked down at the petite boy with a beautiful smile printed on her face, igniting a slight rosy blush on the latter’s face. It was her birthday, and being his most favorite teacher, he of course just had to do this. After all, he loved this being. The only being that loved him truly, despite him being him… Despite him unfortunately being the cursed one. And he was only a 10 years old boy, innocent and adorable little boy, and fate was already up for things that he wasn’t prepared for. How could he be prepared? He’s just a helpless little boy, powerless and fragile, weak and softhearted.

The boy swallowed thickly as he felt a slight tremble quivering on his hidden hand. He chewed his lower lips slightly nervous before he dared to raise up his head a little to meet the gaze of his beloved teacher, and the teacher of course returned his gaze with her warm stare.

His lips tugged into a small smile before his plump lips parted slightly to recite the words he had memorized for the past week.

“Teacher Hee.” He called, moist eyes looking up. His teacher hummed in the most loving way he could ever heard in his entire life.

“Because you are an amazing teacher, and you love me for myself, and you helped me when I’m in trouble, you comfort me when I’m sad and you smiled when I’m laughing. You are the best teacher I could have ever asked for, so I want to thank you for being nice, for being my teacher and for being born. Happy birthday, Teacher Hee. Saranghae yo.” He said as he held out the hand occupied with the sunflower to his teacher. In the beginning, his voice sounded shaky and trembling but as he continued his speech, his voice gradually turned calmer and tender soon after. His speech was absolutely filled with utmost sincerity that I believe; no one on Earth could have resist such love-filled words without shedding a few tears. But apparently, Teacher Hee was. A small beautiful smile crept on her face; a look of bitterness visible behind the smile as her face was clearly tear-free. She probably held her tears in as she fought the urge to cry.

She held out her hand as she received the sunflower, earning a wonderful gummy smile from the boy. Elated and delighted he was because her teacher accepted his gift. She then placed her other hand on his head before tousling his hair into adorable disarray. The boy chuckled in amuse, happy for the gentle treat.

“Aigooo, this boy here. Who wrote you that speech, hm?” She said, giggling, as she thought the speech was a little too perfect for a kid like him to think of by himself. The little boy only grinned ever so widely as he bent his head downward and fiddling with his fingers.

“Hm, I heard it from a drama on TV.” He replied. The teacher laughed heartily at the boy’s answer.

“Haa! I knew it! But still, thank you so much, Eunhyuk-ah. It is a wonderful gift. Where did you get this fower? It’s really beautiful.” She asked with a sweet voice as she intensely eyed the flower in her hand, but he didn’t need to answer because she probably had already guessed it right when she saw some soil dirt at the end of the stick. The flower was probably freshly plucked from the ground this morning. And Eunhyuk didn’t know how much trouble he was getting himself into when he did the deed, but he will, soon enough.

“I plucked it from Uncle Kangin’s house.” He answered her still, innocent that he was. Teacher Hee only nodded her head a little before she removed herself from her chair just to kneel down to give a simple warm hug to the boy. Eunhyuk beamed delightedly as he snugly buried his face at the nook of her neck, his thin arms wrapping her way broader shoulders.

“Thank you, Eunhyuk-ah. So much. And I love you too, baby boy.” She said as she warmly patted his back, and at that moment, Eunhyuk felt like heaven. He craved for the love of a mother, and he ever wondered if that was how he would felt if he ever had one, warmth and tenderness. And as he sunk himself into the loving hug, the pain on his knee suddenly felt like it was nothing, the aching wound was long forgotten as he thought every ounce of his effort had worth it, because he was silently wishing for this moment to stop so he could let himself drown within this overflowing love. If only she was his mother.

Eunhyuk dragged his feet lifelessly, his pale face turned even paler as he stepped closer to his classroom. Voices were heard from within the large room, some were laughing, some were talking and joking, and some were shouting and playing. He peeked through the unclosed door and saw his classmates were happily having the time of their life, playing with their friends. He forged a small smile as he witnessed how his classmates were playing chase, and as he did, his mind unconsciously wished to be a part of them. Imagining he being one of the crowds as he ran around the class, trying to chase the other kids who would frantically run away whenever he was near, just because he was the ‘it’.

And that was when a sudden clear of throat broke through his lonely reverie. Abruptly, he turned around and there he saw the guy he hated so much, standing arrogantly as he looked at him meticulously like he was some sort of trash. And under his scrutinizing stare, he really felt like he was one.

“Move.” Said the other, and that was when he realized he had been blocking the entrance to the class. He hastily moved aside as he let the boy to make his way inside, and he noticed how the boy was throwing a hateful glare at him as he walked in, and Eunhyuk hated how much he was affected by the stare as if it was piercing and stabbing his soul with daggers. He simply felt hated. And as a kid, his thought wondered the word ‘why’ countless of times. Never understanding why everyone had hated him.

Except Teacher Hee.

Soon after, he quietly followed behind the boy as he entered the classroom and rushed for his seat, not intending to attract any attention on him. However, he couldn’t help but noticed how the classroom fell into a deafening silence as soon as he stepped in. A totally different treatment was given to him compared to the boy before him. With the arrogant boy, cheers were given and lots of good morning’s were thrown at him, but when it came down to him, all he got was a sickening silence, and it’s clenching his heart painfully, because he knew he was under the stares of many. The hateful stares. He felt himself shrinking a little smaller whenever he received the stares, but he decided to swallow it down and try to live with the endless hatred. He knew he had to try. At least he had Teacher Hee by his side. He didn’t need anyone else but her, his only place of peace and love.

As he reached his table, his eyes widened when he saw the sight. On top of his table, a vase full of flowers was perfectly placed in the centre, like the one for the dead and just slightly below it, an opened book was placed in utter mess, scrapped and torn apart, scribbled with red ink as words of curses and despicable insults were written. It was obvious that kids wrote them, because their writings were sloppy and messy, and some were wrongly spelled. He just knew.

Eunhyuk held the tears in. He shouldn’t cry. He didn’t want to cry. Because he hated his tears so much. Because he knew his tears were the only reason why the world was so much against him, of why everyone around him knew only of hatred rather than love, and why his father left him alone for it. He didn’t want to admit them but deep down, he knew. He knew all that was to blame, was his tears. But what could he do, his tears were still a part of him and however he tried, they would still existed in him, even if he prayed hard for them to disappear. Even if he cried to death, the tears would still be there, never will they ran out ever.

He eyed the book on the table, his heart painfully twisting as he saw how tainted his book was, the book that was all left by his deceased mother, his precious notebook, his place of expressing his locked up feelings. He regretted it so much for forgetting the book at school because he was too busy thinking what to give to his teacher, but he didn’t regret the thought that he had managed to make her smile with the gift. He thought it was worth it.

He read the scribbles on his book.

Witch!

Go die you witch!

Be gone!

Bloody monkey.

Ugly.

Get out of our town.

Leave!

And many more that Eunhyuk didn’t have the heart to read everything. He chewed on his lower lips as he felt a tear was threatening to fall. He hastily picked up the book as he brought it closer to his chest and enclosed it into a tight hold, as though he was trying to protect it from more harm. And as he lifted his head up, he saw how everyone was already swarming around him; their faces were engraved with utter disgust and hateful look. As though I’m a trash, a plaque, and a witch.

As he dared himself to walk away, not wanting to be standing amidst the silent sickening stares, he couldn’t help but hear mocking jabs were thrown at him, although he was secretly wishing that they were really just a mere mock, but he knew it’s the opposite, it's the truth. And the thought cracked his soul.

“Yes, leave, witch. Leave the town and rot somewhere else.” The arrogant boy from earlier said harshly, his stares digging mercilessly into the frightened boy. Eunhyuk only gulped down what seemed to be a hard lump lodged in his throat, but he tried as much not to show how frightened and hurt he was. He hugged the book even tighter as he tried to walk through the crowd. And at the moment he walked half-way to the door, his shoulder unintentionally had brushed against a girl’s, and the clash was soon followed but a loud yelp, startling everyone and even more himself.

The girl cried ever so loudly as she was shoved lightly by the slight bumping. She held her touched shoulder as her teary eyes intensely glaring at Eunhyuk, whom was just as clueless on why, the sweetest girl on Earth he had ever met, would suddenly cry and wailing just because he had bumped on her shoulder lightly, and believe him, it was only a slight brush, it’s not even that forceful to make her flinch, what more to hurt her.

The sudden wailing got everyone in the classroom enraged, angered and even more hateful than before. Because their little angel was crying, because of Eunhyuk. And Eunhyuk was the cursed boy. The connection was strange, but it made sense in the mind of the children, as the village had incited their traditional way of thinking, tainted and narrow-minded.

The arrogant boy suddenly stood up from his seat and approached the frightened boy. And then, before Eunhyuk could flinch in fear, he felt a sickeningly powerful force thumping on his stomach. He stumbled backward upon the impact as his jaws dropped, retching a complete nothing at the sudden hit. His face was definitely cringing in pain as he started to feel his inside churning and twisting upon the impact. The boy kicked him good. But he’s used to this kind of treatment and battering by now. Why wouldn’t he, when his own blood had done him good so frequently at home?

And just soon after that, more curses and jabbing words were thrown at him, some were even cheering for the boy to keep on battering him. And what hurt him most wasn’t the beatings, but the words that were coming out of her lips, the girl whom once handed him her handkerchief, the girl whom once smiled at him on one evening, the one he thought was different from every other kids.

“Just go away, monster! Freak!”

And those words were enough to tear his heart apart. His suppressed tears were outrageously threatening to flow down his cheeks, as the scarlet color was slowly, but surely beginning to puddle around his eye brims. And as a drop of those scarlet tears pooled in his eyes, the color of scarlet blurring his vision, another shriek was heard,

“OH MY GOD! It’s the curse! The curse is coming out!” Another girl freaked out, his slender finger pointing frantically at the cursed boy. And with that, the rest of the kids gasped loudly, eyes bulging out in sheer disbelief, because even after so many times seeing those scarlet tears, they still couldn’t get used to it. Because it was the strangest thing ever, and those tears didn’t belong on Earth. It belonged somewhere else, just anywhere but Earth.

Just a few seconds after, he found himself being thrown things at him.

“Go away, freak!” And some erasers were thrown at him, hitting his weak body, painfully. He raised his arms up in the air, trying to shield himself from the attacks.

“Don’t come near us!” and a few rulers came attacking him, grazing his pale skin into a peeled wound. His body flinched as he felt the wound stinging his already hurting body.

“Leave our town, filthy!” A thick book hit his head strongly, but he swallowed down the pain. He could endure all the mocks, all the pain, all the hurt, but he couldn’t handle it when his family was involved, insulted.

“I’m sure those bloody tears were the reason you father had left you! Because they are filthy and ugly!!!”

And with that, he cried blood. The puddle of tears that were threatening to fall finally broke through the floodgate. A few streams of blood were hastily rolling down his cheeks, staining his skin with scarlet smudge as the drops finally fell onto the ground. And everyone hated the stain that was disgustingly contrasting against his pale skin.

 Eunhyuk just had to snap.

“DON’T YOU DARE INVOLVE MY FATHER IN THIS! MY FATHER LOVED ME! HE LOVES ME!” He yelped, eyes glaring with scarlet red as he started to return the jab by throwing back the things at his classmates.

“If he loves you, then why did he leave?!” One of them retorted back, and the words helplessly reopened the old wound on his heart. His words were like thousands of needles, stabbing his wound mercilessly, and he cried his heart out as he remembered his father. His father left him. On the day he cried blood for the first time. He left him to cry alone. As the thought sunk his heart in a deep sorrow, Eunhyuk couldn’t think any better than that when he just started spouting wails and cries as his hand endlessly throwing back those erasers, rulers and books back at his classmates.

“GO AWAY! JUST GO AWAY! LEAVE ME ALONE! MY FATHER DIDN’T LEAVE ME! HE JUST HAD TO LEAVE! HE LOVES ME! HE TOLD ME HE LOVES ME! AND I’M SURE HE HAS HIS REASON! HE STILL LOVES ME!” He cried, and cried and cried but an evil scoff followed just soon after.

“Because you were a cursed boy. Who would want a cursed son? A cursed son was a bad fortune to a family. Isn’t that why your mother died?”

“Yeah! My mom told me his mom died because of him, because he was cursed!” Another girl added.

Eunhyuk sobbed even harder at the mention of his mother.

“NO! MY MOTHER DIDN’T DIE BECAUSE OF ME! SHE DIDN’T!”

“Yes, she did. My grandma told me that she died out of nothing. She just collapsed and died. And no death is without a reason. It must be because you’re a cursed son!” The arrogant boy hissed angrily. As Eunhyuk listened to his stabbing words, his heart clenched in anger. He picked up the thickest book on one of his classmate’s table and he quickly threw it at the boy. The impact sound was loud as the boy hissed in pain. His hand quickly rubbed his stinging head, but his face flinched as he felt a thick liquid on his fingers. He stared at his hand as his eyes bulged out in utter fear. His head was bleeding. And just before the boy could lunged forward to give another good battering at the smaller boy for hurting him, the door was suddenly slid opened. And there stood Eunhyuk’s savior, his beloved Teacher Hee.

“Teacher Hee!” He screamed, much to his relief as some of the kids gasped in shock because they knew how Teacher Hee adored Eunhyuk out of many in the class. Some of them were still crying too, probably was scared with the fights, or maybe just crying out of sheer fear at the bizarre tears.

Teacher Hee’s face was unreadable. She didn’t look worried or frightened, or angered, but she just looked… disgusted… and Eunhyuk was sure she was looking at him when her face showing that glint of disgust. And he swallowed thickly. Why was his teacher looking at him like that? Wasn’t she supposed to be showing a bit of anger and a bit of concern? But no, she just looked disgusted. Just plain disgusted.

“Teacher?” He called again, hoping that the look on her would disappear once he did, and praying that that look wasn’t directed to him, but to anyone else but him.

“What is happening here?” Her voice was cold, and piercing. Her eyes were glaring with furious anger when she saw how wrecked her classroom was. And what shocked her more was the red-stained face of her student, and of course the crying kids scattered around the classroom. And that precise moment, everything had looked wrong to the teacher. And precisely at that, he arrogant boy quickly pointed out,

“I-it was Eunhyuk! He started this! He threw things at us! He threw a book at me!!!” He yelped in panic before he quickly showed her his palm stained with blood. Teacher Hee’s eyes bulged out in shock when he saw the dried blood on his palm. She then turned to look at the frightened accused boy, her eyes throwing daggers and Eunhyuk trembled under the unfamiliar cold stare.

“N-no. I d-dint. I – He – he said bad things about my p-parents…” He tried his best to defend himself, because he knew not a single soul in that room would care to help him. He only had himself to help himself. No one, but himself.

And Teacher Hee.

“Does that allow you to hurt another person?” And again, her voice was cold. And Eunhyuk didn’t like what he heard.

“But he hurt me too…” He mumbled lowly under his breath, not too loud for the teacher to hear.

“Lee Eunhyuk. Detention. Now.” She firmly stated. “The others, clean up this mess.” She gave the order. She heard how the kids sniffed slightly while groaning some complains when the order was given.

“And Shindong. Go the infirmary and have the nurse to treat your wound.”

Eunhyuk wasn’t satisfied because he found it strange for being the only one ruled out for detention when mostly in fights, both parties were usually to blame. He wanted to retaliate, but was cut off by Teacher Hee.

“But---“

“No buts, Eunhyuk. I’m calling your grandfather.”

“No! Don’t call grandpa, please! He’ll hit me if he finds out I hit someone!” He yelped, panicked.

“Good. Maybe then, he could put some sense in your empty head and I could for once be relieved from having to deal with you.”

Eunhyuk gasped silently. Did he just hear that right? Or is his head playing with his mind right now?

“T-teacher?” He called, unsure if he should probe further.

“I’m sick with your tears, Eunhyuk. They’re disgusting, and filthy. I had to deal with you everyday. I had to smile at you every time when all I wanted was to stay hundreds metres away from you. And you, with your stupid love just had to come leeching yourself onto me. I am not you ing mother!!!” As she broke down, letting out all her contained feelings desperately, another drop of scarlet tears fell down his cheek.

“B-but, Teacher Hee. You said my tears are beautiful…” He mumbled slowly, his voice quivering and his hands trembling.

“Some are bound to lie, Eunhyuk. I lied to you so you would at least stop shedding those ugly tears and save me some effort from having to deal with your cursed being.” Eunhyuk chewed on his inner cheeks, and he tasted blood down his throat.

“You are lying…” He hoped she was lying. He shook his head, refusing to believe whatever that was coming out of her beautiful mouth.

“Yes, I was lying.” She shamelessly admitted. Not a glint of guilt or regret was seen on her face.

“You told me you love me just the way I am!” He exclaimed, his sobs getting louder.

“It’s obviously a lie, Eunhyuk.”

“You said my tears were a gift from the Heaven to me!”

“No, that’s a lie too. You are cursed.”

“No! I’m not cursed! You’re lying! You're a liar! Teacher Hee is a liar!!”

“Yes, you are. You are hated, Eunhyuk. And I, hate you too. I wish you were gone. Everyday, I prayed for you to leave. Or die. I prayed really hard. And I don’t even believe in God.” She chuckled like a mad person she was as she spoke.

“No! Stop it! You’re lying! Stop it!!”

“You were the cursed child, Eunhyuk.”

“Stop…! Just stop, teacher!” He closed his eyes tightly, his chest heaving up and down heavily.

“And everyone hates you.”

“Stop! Somebody, just somebody, stop her, please!” More scarlet tears fell down his cheeks.

“You are blind to see the world going against you.” He shut his ears with his hands.

“No, stop! Anyone, just anyone, get me out of here! I don’t want to hear this!”

“You don’t belong anywhere. Your bloody tears were proof of something non-existent.”

“Stop! Don’t say them anymore! Just stop! Anyone, please!” He shook his head frantically.

“You yourself are a non-existent, Eunhyuk.”

“NOOO!!!”

“And a non-existent is hated. And there was no place on Earth that is willing to accept you.”

“Someone please save me! Please!! I don’t wanna be here!”

“And we just hope that you would disappear and rot in ---“

“NO! Just stop it! Stop! Someone! Please! DONG---“

Eunhyuk abruptly sprung up from his bed, panting heavily for some air. His chest was heaving rapidly. Despite the room’s air-condition set on full-blow, salty liquids were still forming and sliding down his forehead. His pajama was already drenched with his sweats. He then wiped his forehead with the hem of his sleeve, as he tried to regulate his rapid and shallow breathing.

“That dream. It’s becoming more frequent now.” He mumbled quietly as he could still recall the nightmare. Because he was too frightened, and scared and immersed with his bad dream, he didn’t even realize that his right hand was clasping a familiar one in his hold.

“Another bad dream?” A voice suddenly was heard asking him, causing his head to jerked abruptly towards the source of the sound much in surprise. That angelic and beautiful voice.

“Omo, Kyu! You surprised me!” Startled, he exclaimed quietly as he heaved a light sigh when he realized it was his boyfriend. He was sitting on the floor, with his back leaning against the wall just behind the head of his bed, patiently waiting for him to sleep. His left hand was clasped within Eunhyuk’s and his right hand was holding an opened book, probably a fictional novel.

He then sneaked a glance at the clock on the wall and noticed he had only slept for about 30 minutes, give and take. And of course he was surprised to find his boyfriend still patiently waiting beside him when he had slept like, yeah, 30 minutes ago. So, he asked.

“Have you been here the whole time I was sleeping?” The boy only nodded, eyes still fixated on the book.

“Yeah.” But he decided to just voice an answer because he found it needed since the room was quite dark without the light.

“Why didn’t you leave?” He found himself asking more.

“I was waiting for you to sleep.” Simply, he replied. But Eunhyuk frowned.

“But I already slept for about a good 30 minutes!” He exclaimed confused. His boyfriend only shrugged his shoulder off.

“Yeah, I know.”

“So, why didn’t you leave?” He asked again, knowing that his boyfriend wouldn’t bother to explain if he didn’t ask.

“Dunno. Probably was too immersed with my reading. I didn’t notice the time.” He finally answered the question, his eyes still on his book, on the same page. Liar, you said you knew I was asleep for half an hour just now. He thought,

But Eunhyuk only nodded his head slightly, nibbling on his lower lips, as he didn’t intend to further questioning his boyfriend anymore. The latter noticed how Eunhyuk just had turned silent after his last answer, so feeling a little guilt creeping on in him, he slammed the book shut as he placed it on the nightstand near the bed. He then got up from his sitting position and knelt down by the bedside as he leaned on his elbow. His fingers were then fiddling around with a few strands of hairs dangling on Eunhyuk’s forehead, sometime his forelock along the way, lovingly. And Eunhyuk felt loved with the gesture, and he liked the feeling of being loved. He closed his eyes willingly as soon as he felt the soothing caress, enjoying and cherishing the moment of pampering.

“Go to sleep now, Eunhyuk. I’ll be here with you.” He whispered sweetly into his ears, his breathe blowing into his ears; sending slight shivers down his spine.

“I will. But you should go home now. I can sleep by myself already.” He replied, eyes still closely shut as he leant in to the touch. But his boyfriend only snorted when he felt him leaning in.

“Yeah, right. I believe you. Now, save me some slack and sleep.” The boy bickered in a smirking way, his hand then caressing Eunhyuk’s cheeks tenderly. With the words, Eunhyuk’s eyes fluttered open as a small pout tugged on his lips.

“No, really. Trust me, Kyuhyun-ah.” The boy was still pouting, but he continued anyway. “The bad dreams only came once a night, and since I had the dream already, I’m sure I can sleep more peacefully after this.” He explained in the effort of convincing his boyfriend. Kyuhyun only eyed him with a suspicious look, like he doubted if his boyfriend was being honest with him.

“Hey, trust your boyfriend a little, okay?” Eunhyuk pleaded with fluttering eyes as his lips pursed into another long pout. Kyuhyun released a light sigh as he gave in to his cuteness.

“Fine. But are you sure you’ll be fine?” He asked again, just to be sure. A wide gummy smile crept on his face when his boyfriend finally gave up.

“I will. Now go home. It’s past 11 already. I don’t want my future in-laws thinking of me as a bad influence on their baby boy.” Kyuhyun chuckled at the mention of in-laws, a deep blush flushing down on his face as he imagined his life, married with the love of his life. But he managed to squeeze an answer,

“Nah, they knew how important you are to me, and they knew you’re a nice kid.You don’t have to worry.” Eunhyuk’s face was dusted with pink sprinkles, blushing slightly at the indirect confession. “Besides, they liked you more than me now.” Kyuhyun ended his sentence with a pout, feigning a look of hurt because his family now loved his boyfriend more than their own son. Eunhyuk giggled at the adorable sulking.

“Of course they will. You are such a naughty and evil son.” The skinny boy retorted nonchalantly, but Kyuhyun quickly responded,

“And you’re such a precious love to me.” Kyuhyun pinched the former’s nose cutely before he cupped his face within his palms as he brought his nose closer to touch Eunhyuk’s one ever so lightly, earning an embarrassed giggle from the latter, as he could feel the overflowing love emitting from every single touch and every single thing that Kyuhyun had done. He felt blessed, and happy, and he hadn’t feel this way since a long long time ago.

He remembered it was not long ago since he opened his heart for the guy. 7 years Kyuhyun had become his boyfriend, and only last year did he start to accept the boy’s never-ending love. And only Kyuhyun managed to open the lock on his heart, after years of working hard, flirting with him even, as he did his best to gain his acceptance, to prove his sincere love to him and now finally, his work hard had paid off. Eunhyuk felt very safe and secure within his embrace, and only when he’s with him, he felt like he could be himself, the place where he could shed the entire cold demeanor he enveloped himself with, and just be his bubbly and spoilt self. To Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun was his home. Only with Kyuhyun, did he could fall asleep, and nights without the boy, he would find himself staring at the white ceiling from his bed, and only falling asleep when the clock ticked past 4. He’s feeling grateful to have Kyuhyun. His Cho Kyuhyun.

After a moment of engulfing himself into a self-reverie, he then found himself standing up as he tugged Kyuhyun to do so. The latter of course willingly complied to his demand as he stood up and walked downstairs with their hands interlocked together. As they walked through the hallway, they noticed the television was still beaming with light and a faint laughter was heard from the living room. Kyuhyun peeked his head a little over the entranceway to greet his family goodbye while Eunhyuk only stood beside him, and his family seemed surprise to see Eunhyuk there, not sleeping.

“I’ll be going now. Thanks for having me here today as well.” Kyuhyun politely bowed his head down as he beamed a smile at the family.

“It’s a pleasure, Kyuhyun-ah. Take care when going home.” Was all the response he got from Eunhyuk’s Aunt, Yoon Jae because she was still busy watching the show. A young boy seated beside her only waved his hand lightly without even bothering to turn around. Soon, both Kyuhyun and Eunhyuk found themselves at the doorframe, exchanging some good night greetings with each other, acting like the lovebird they were.

“Nighty night, Hyukkie.” Said Kyuhyun, facing the skinny boy, eyes gazing down on him.

“Night, Kyu.” Eunhyuk looked up to meet his gaze, and under the dimmed light of his house, he saw Kyuhyun’s eyes glistening beautifully, drowning him once again within his overflowing love.

“I’ll go in now.” He said, breaking away from the electrifying stare. A slight blush was visible on him. He was about to walk inside before Kyuhyun called his name.

“Hyukkie?” called the boy, quietly. Eunhyuk turned around as he hummed a response. But as he did, he suddenly felt a soft and warm lips pressing against his cold cheek. And as soon as the kiss came, he found himself wanting more when he felt the lips parting away from his cheek. He tried as much to fight the blush creeping its way onto his face, but he still helplessly stared at his smiling boyfriend with a startled look.

“I love you, Hyukkie.” He whispered the soft three magical words before he turned around and waved goodbye. Eunhyuk felt his hand cupping the kissed cheek as though there was still lingering electricity running down beneath it, before he smiled blissfully at the disappearing back. How grateful he was to have such a loyal, loving and innocent boyfriend like Kyuhyun. His Cho Kyuhyun. He used to take the boy for granted, but now, he’s starting to appreciate him, silently thanking him for being very patient to wait for him until he could finally open his heart.

After making sure he couldn’t see Kyuhyun’s shadow anymore, he then walked inside his house and went to sit with his family.

“Why aren’t you sleeping yet?” Yoon Jae suddenly asked after he settled down sitting in between her and the young boy.

“Had a bad dream.” He simply replied, eyes focused on the television. YoonJae and the young boy only crept a knowing and naughty smile.

“Hm, you must be glad that you had your boyfie waiting for you right? Such loving boyfie you have there.” Yoonjae said, making Eunhyuk nodded his head with a furious uncontrollable blush.

“You’re lucky, Hyungnim. You had such a loyal boyfie. My girlfriend just cheated on me a week ago.” The young boy pouted, jealous of his brother for having such a perfect boyfriend.

“I know.” The skinny boy sniggered, raising one eyebrow proudly. His brother only hissed at the arrogant remark.

“And by the way, EunJae?” Eunhyuk smirked.

“Hm?”

“You in relationship.”

“Yah!” Eunhyuk giggled heartily when he heard Eunjae’s respond. Yes, the boy was only snarky with his family and Kyuhyun. They were ones of the most important persons in his life, and he would trade his own life if he ever had to lose one of them. They were that important.

“Yah, hyung. Do you want to know something you don’t even know about your boyfie there?” Eunjae suddenly said, as he stared at his interested brother. Eunhyuk perked up when he heard such an understatement.

“What? I doubt there is a thing I don’t know about him. We’ve been together for 7 years.”

“Hm, doubt that.”

“Fine, what about it?”

“Did you know for the past 7 years until today, he had been accompanying you until you fall asleep, without fail, whenever he had the chance?” and those words earned him rolling eyes from Eunhyuk.

“No Sherlock.” He hissed, not a bit interested anymore at the so-called new secret.

“Language, Eunhyuk. Language.” Yoonjae’s voice slowly warning his nephew.

“Well, did you know that he doesn’t only wait until you sleep? But he also made sure you would sleep soundly until you would at least snore a little before he took his leave. And that lasted for about an hour actually, give and take of course.” He clarified interestedly, and Eunhyuk’s eyes bulged out in surprise as heard him.

“What?! You mean, every night, he would wait for me for an hour?” He couldn’t believe what he heard, so he repeated whatever information that his brain had digested for him. And this earned him annoyed rolling eyes from the younger.

“Depends. Sometimes less, sometimes even more.” And with that confirmation, Eunhyuk’s suspicion was confirmed.

“Now, that explains why he was still here just now.” He mumbled to himself quietly.

“And why didn’t I know about this?” he’s dissatisfied because he was left in the dark while both Yoonjae and Eunjae had already knew of the fact since a long time ago. 7 years. It's freaking 7 years!

“Uh, because obviously you were sleeping?”

“Then, ing tell me if you know about it!” Eunhyuk shrieked in frustration, though he didn’t even knew why he should be in the first place.

“No cursing, Eunhyuk…” Yoonjae warned again against the harsh language but Eunhyuk only grinned slightly as a response while Eunjae just had to stick his tongue out at his brother.

“Sorry, aunt.” He apologized, but they doubt that it was sincere. They're pretty sure he would still use the cursing words. That's what being teenage is all about.

“Apology accepted. Hmm, Kyuhyun is a really nice boy. I’m really glad and relieved that you and him got into the same college in Seoul. Believe me when I say I wouldn’t ever let you go there if it was not for him.” And Eunhyuk smiled tenderly when the words hit his ears. He was really glad too, glad that he had the most perfect boy in his life. Because his Cho Kyuhyun, is just a perfection.

“Just please don’t break his heart, okay Eunhyuk? He’s too nice and he deserves a happy ending.” Yoonjae’s face started to change into a slight bitterness, but the look disappeared as quickly as it came, and Eunhyuk had to wonder why did his aunt suddenly looking like that. Sorrow was surely visible behind her small smile at that moment. But deciding against probing further, he only nodded his head, silently promising he wouldn’t dare to even scratch a wound on Kyuhyun’s heart. Because he’s too nice, and too precious for the boy.

“So, at what time are you leaving for Seoul tomorrow?” asked Yoonjae, changing the topic.

“At 8AM.”

“Eunjae probably would refuse to admit, but he’s surely gonna miss you so badly.”

“Pfft, he’s a ghost, aunty. He could practically just fly to Seoul if he really do miss me, which I highly doubted, because he’s too cool to do that.”

“Hey! I’m not a ghost!”

“Yes, you are. Now tell me your secret, how could you be so freaking fast like a lightening bolt when I asked you for help that day? You’re not even there when I called for you.”

“W-well, I’m just that awesome. Thank you very much.”

“………. You’re just hopeless, Eunjae.”

What Heechul had something to do with Hyuk?

As for now, i want Hyuk to be with Kyu. Kyu had patiently wait for him and is so kind and really love him but Hyuk still can't love him back. I'm afraid that Hyuk gonna leave him for Donghae.
But, i'll just wait what Haehyuk had shared in their past.
