He entered the party stag, not because he could not find a date but because he did not want another partner besides her. The pair of dark brown eyes scanned the large room looking out for only one girl. He turned a corner recognizing the distinct voice that was etched into his memory. It, indeed, was the sweetest melody he had ever heard.

He smiled to himself, admiring the beautiful creation of God. She always looked spectacularly pretty, he admitted.

There she was sitting among her friends, chatting and laughing. Oddly, she did not seem to notice him. It seemed she was too captivated by the guy beside her that she failed take note of Nichkhun’s failed attempts to gain her attention. The loud music was not helping him either.

 ‘Damn her friend who got them introduced’, he thought.

At that very moment Khun was jealous. Either his mind was playing tricks on him or she just blushed shyly as the boy leaned into her to whisper in her ears. Anger surged through his veins as he watched the guy smoothly put an arm around her shoulder and pull her into a hug. It hurt, not only because she enjoyed the company of another guy, but also because she had not even glanced at him this whole time. He cursedunder his breath at his brilliant idea to surprise her and not tell her he’d come for the bash.

Khun was certain that in their two years of friendship he had never felt this way towards her before. It was just recently that he realized this strong bond linking him to her. Just thinking about it made heart race, him not knowing how to control the beats.

Discovering his new bound feelings had made him nervous and excited. But right now he was plain annoyed by this guy getting all too friendly with ‘his girl’.

‘That’s it! I’ve seen enough’, he thought.

So holding onto the last few nerves, Khun walked across the room keeping his eyes trained on her. He motivated himself not to lose courage as she looked at him. She smiled at him as he stood before her but without even giving her a chance to greet him, Nichkhun bent down and kissed her full on the lips. He closed his eyes not wanting to see people around him, just wanting to convey most of his emotions through his actions. He had never felt this confident yet unsure of his actions before. The only thing he was certain of was that he did not want this to end, ever.

He felt his passion and coolness resurface when she responded to his kiss. He pulled away, looked into her eyes and confessed, “I love you”.

The faintly astonished look on her face disappeared as a smile crept onto her face. “I have been waiting long enough for you to say this. I love you too.”

Khun pulled her into another passionate kiss as he felt his heart bursting at the seams.
