Black Bryony
Description
In the not-so-far future, smartphones have been reduced to the size of microchips that are implanted in wrist bones, accessed through glowing displays and holographic projections in the brain, giving them the ability to become technopaths. It soon became a permanent requirement for all citizens and if any wished against it, then they were deemed useless. Microchips soon determined the value of a human being and the Earth was merely a pellucid shell sealing the thorns that branches out of the technology that controls the human mind beneath.
Everyone lived in their own world, until a team of scientists discover weird cases of a parallel universe intruding into their own which sparks scenes of world destruction and the downfall of humanity through illusions in their own minds. Gradually, citizens of South Korea are being imported into mental hospitals. Luhan, a placid scientist who believes he survives with his brain rather than his heart, becomes tangled in this mess that battles against his emotions and logic while encountering 'Alice', a love doctor who says a million galaxies are growing inside of her.
How can Luhan bring an end to world destruction?
Foreword
Technology and Reality
“Nin knew how much humans loved money, riches, and material things—though he never really could understand why. The more technologically advanced the human species got, the more isolated they seemed to become, at the same time. It was alarming, how humans could spend entire lifetimes engaged in all kinds of activities, without getting any closer to knowing who they really were, inside.”
- Jess C. Scott
“There is no reality except the one contained within us. That is why so many people live such an unreal life. They take the images outside of them for reality and never allow the world within to assert itself.”
- Hermann Hesse
