Shindae stretched her arms above her and released a long groan when she felt her muscles and loins pop in all the right places. She had decided to sleep in because the previous day was anything but relaxing; the long walking trips and climbing hills that were higher than she ever could’ve imagined had strained her body deliciously. “Such a good sleep,” she mumbled before sitting up in her bed and smiling a little when she instantly spotted the light blue waters of the ocean through the white sheer curtains that hung in front of the balcony doors.     Unlike the night before, Shindae had slept in an actual bed instead of the sandy beach outside and boy, did she feel it. Her whole body was well-rested and carried the girl without any problems out of the comfy queen size bed. Aside from the comfortable mattress, Shindae had also gotten a sleeveless shirt and shorts from Jeongkook to wear as sleeping attire because she hadn’t brought anything with her. It was a little baggy but yet again, comfortable because the warm weather didn’t bother her as much then.   Letting a yawn pass, Shindae shuffled over to the bathroom that bordered her room and scanned the black wooden cabinets for a toothbrush. After a few adventurous seconds, the girl found a closed packet with a new pair and chose the blue one of the two because it reminded her of the vibrant color the plankton she had seen had. Shindae lazily brushed her teeth, freshened up a bit and when she felt a little more awake, walked downstairs to the spacious living room.   “I told you you not to eat that dish,” she heard Yoongi say and saw said boy shake his head as he sat at the dining table, watching his brother groan on the couch while Jin was taking the younger’s temperature. Shindae frowned at the scene that greeted her when she entered and approached the two boys at the couch. “What’s wrong with Kook?” she asked when she stopped next to Jin, who tapped the thermometer against his palm and looked worried at the boy on the couch. “Well, his high fever and fervent vomiting signal a case of food poisoning."   At this, the girl gasped worried and kneeled next to Jeongkook before she lifted a hand and caringly his head. His forehead was covered in a sheen layer of sweat and his chest rose and fell deeply as he was breathing heavily, his body shuddering ever so lightly. “He needs to go to a hospital,” Shindae quaked worriedly and glanced up at Jin who ran his fingers through his dark hair, his face set into one of pensiveness.   “It’s not that serious yet, he just needs to rest,” he answered and placed the thermometer back into its assigned box. Shindae frowned in disbelief at the man. “He’s burning up!” she countered, her voice slightly raised because of the worry that fuelled her emotions. She knew that there were cases of food poisoning that resulted in death, especially with people who were on a holiday in a foreign country with dishes that were unknown to them.   “Then he should’ve taken my advice,” Yoongi piped in and slid off his blue beanie before placing it on the table before ruffling his chestnut hair. A sudden wave of annoyance washed over Shindae when she heard the boy speak up. “He doesn’t always have to listen to your high and mighty words, Yoongi!” she snapped and began walking to the kitchen to fill a tub with water and get some towels. She understood that Yoongi was a knowledgeable boy and knew what he was talking about but this was a time that didn't call for a tugwar of who was right and who was wrong.   When she returned, neither of the boys responded to her earlier comment; Jin silently agreed with her whilst Yoongi was a little taken aback. Shindae just ignored the silence that reigned in the room and kneeled on the floor next to Jeongkook again, carefully setting the tub with water next to her. She carefully dipped one of the towels into the cold water and wrung it until it didn't drip anymore.   “Shinnie is going to take care of you today, okay?” she spoke softly to Jeongkook, gently brushing his bangs to the side before placing the cool towel on his forehead. The boy didn't answer but weakly lifted his hand to hold onto Shindae’s arm. “Don’t worry and just rest, Kookie. I’m right here,” she whispered again and his head to assure him. The younger nodded weakly before resting his eyes again, his breathing still heavy and inconsistent. Pushing her worries aside, Shindae pressed her lips together as she soaked another towel and began running it over his bare arm to try and bring his temperature down.   Yoongi could only watch on how she took care of his brother and tried to ignore the pressing feeling in his chest. No one had ever reacted towards him like that so it was a surprise that Shindae - a girl they barely knew - had managed to be upfront with him like that and set him back on his place. Jin was the first one to take action because he passed Shindae with a small smile when he approached Yoongi.   “I’m going to buy some medicine,” he quietly informed the boy, and searched through a cupboard for his wallet. Yoongi mindlessly nodded, his eyes still fixed on the couch. “He’ll be fine, Yoongi,” Jin added and patted the younger’s shoulder to assure him, because he knew he was worried about the boy. Yoongi never really showed his true emotions that prominently but Jin knew him; whenever it came to his family, he was always more alert and acted without thinking his actions through - unlike his normal steady behavior. With a last look, Jin silently walked away, leaving the three to their own devices.

Shindae still felt a little annoyed with Yoongi because the least he could do was act a little worried instead of blaming the kid for not listening. Shrugging off her annoyance, she continued to wipe down the younger’s body as she had been doing for the past hour. For a moment, the girl hesitated before she decided to do what was best in this situation. “Kookie, we need to get you out of this so you’ll cool down faster,” she said softly to Jeongkook and held the fabric of his sleeveless shirt.   The boy nodded tiredly, his eyes half-lidded and let Shindae help him sit up and take off his shirt before laying him down on the couch again. Shindae silently cleared as she pushed any embarrassing thought away and soaked the towel in the cold water, wrung it and carefully placed it on the younger’s toned chest.   Meanwhile in the kitchen, Yoongi had been fidgeting with his fingers as he was waiting for Jin to return from his medicine errand. “Oh hyung, welcome back,” Yoongi greeted the eldest relieved when he saw him enter through the backdoor and approached him. Jin smiled and took off his shoes before walking into the kitchen and handing the younger the bag.   Yoongi frowned confused at this and eyed Jin for a moment as to ask him why he had given him the bag with medicine. The elder, however, just nodded at the entrance of the living room. “Give it to them.”   The younger remained speechless for a moment because last time he checked, Shindae wasn’t really fond of him at that moment so the last thing he should do was come into any contact with her. Jin showed him an encouraging smile because he had a feeling what Yoongi was thinking about, and patted his shoulder before passing him to the fridge to get himself something to drink. Yoongi looked at the bag for a moment before he nodded to himself and walked to the entrance of the living room. When he walked through the door, he saw Shindae sitting on the couch with Jeongkook’s head resting on her lap as she softly his head.   Swallowing his nervosity away, Yoongi approached the two with mixed feelings that were supposed to be confidence but only pushed him as far as him hovering awkwardly next to her. Shindae looked up at the boy when she noticed his presence and switched her gaze from the bag to Yoongi. “Jin brought some pharmaceuticals,” he mumbled and handed her the bag but Shindae just stared emotionless at the boy.   Yoongi cleared his throat before awkwardly taking the bag back and chose to open it to check what was even in there. “Is he awake?” he asked carefully, eying his brother for a moment before digging through the boxes. Shindae watched his movements and hummed in response, mindlessly Jeongkook’s hair to soothe the boy. Yoongi just focused on the contents of the bag and grabbed a box of ibuprofen before placing the bag on the small table next to couch. He quickly walked to the kitchen to get some water, and pressed two pills out of the strip. “This will take away some of the pain and lower his temperature,” he said as he held the medicine and glass in his hand.   Shindae was still silent when she looked at him for a moment before smiling lightly and sitting up straighter. “Kookie, I need you to sit up so you can take some medicine,” she said softly and helped the boy sit up when he nodded, glancing at Yoongi for a moment. “I’ll hold him while you give him it,” she suggested and eyed the medicine in his hands before slanting her head slightly to look at Jeongkook in her arms.   Yoongi was confused of what to do for a moment but attempted to sit on edge of the couch next to Jeongkook’s legs anyway, figuring out what to do next. Carefully, he lifted his hand with the pills and held one in front of the boy’s lips. “Jeongsaengnim, open up,” Yoongi mumbled hesitantly and waited for his brother to part his lips so he could carefully push in one of the pills. He then put the rim of the glass of water against his lips and gave the younger the chance to take small gulps of water to wash away the medicine. Shindae watched Yoongi with a small smile while he gave Jeongkook the second pill, repeating the cycle, because that was the first time she had heard that nickname.   Jeongkook willingly accepted the medicine but still winced at nasty aftertaste and opened his eyes a little, a tired smile gracing his lips. “Thanks.”   Yoongi felt relief wash over him when he saw his brother’s ever vibrant smile. He returned the gesture and carefully set the glass next to him on the coffee table before he met eyes with Shindae. She didn’t hold the contact for long but Yoongi spotted the smile that curled her lips and felt his own soften at the sight. “Rest some more, Kookie,” she smiled gently at Jeongkook and let him lay on her lap again.   When he had settled in his earlier position, Shindae placed her hand on his head and gently pushed his bangs to the side to place a cool towel on his forehead again. Jeongkook sighed deeply and moved his hand over hers that was resting on his chest to show his gratitude.   Yoongi took this as his cue to leave and stood up, taking the empty glass with him back to the kitchen. Looking back once, he felt another smile curl his lips before he disappeared behind the door and met with a proud Jin.

Yoongi had chosen to sit outside the rest of the afternoon since the weather had cooled down a lot. His camera needed to be cleaned anyway so he chose to sit at the table that stood outside. After an hour or so, he noticed that it wouldn’t take too long before the sun would finally set. Collecting the cleaning materials for his camera, he decided to go inside to see what the others were up to.     When he got inside, however, the scene that he met resulted in an endearing smile to settle on his lips. A sleeping Shindae was resting her head in her hand which she had propped up on the armrest of the couch with Jeongkook’s head laying in her lap. The eldest of the group sat in the chair opposite from them, his body curled into an awkward yet comfortable position with his head buried in his arms.   Yoongi watched the three sleep when an idea came to mind. He placed the delicate cleaning supplies on the dining table and lifted his camera that was hanging from his neck to his face, turning the lense a few times until the sight was sharp enough.   A small smile appeared on his lips when he found the shot, and clicked away. When he had seen the perfect pictures flash by, he lifted the straps over his head to place the camera on the dining table as well and approached his brother, who had stirred a little in his rest. Without much thought, Yoongi lifted his hand to Jeongkook’s head to carefully the raven locks. The younger had worried him all day and this was the only way he could use to show him.   When he looked up at Shindae who was still asleep, another idea came to mind when he noticed the fading streams of sunlight that fell on her face. He crouched next to her and patted her leg, waking her carefully to not wake his brother up. Shindae jumped a little when she felt this and slowly awoke, squinting her eyes and scrunching her nose when met with the light that shone directly into her eyes. Yoongi smiled at the cute action and placed his hand on her lower arm.   “Can you accompany me somewhere?” he asked softly when the girl was a little more awake. Shindae was still a little disoriented but eyed the younger in her lap for a moment before nodding and carefully standing up, replacing her lap with a pillow. “What about Jin?” she whispered, her voice still laced with sleep, but Yoongi waved her question away. “He’ll be fine.”   Still a little hesitant, Shindae followed the boy and after throwing a last worried look at the two boys in the living room, picked up her pace to keep close to Yoongi as he didn’t say a word. He continued to walk until they reached the road behind the beach house and quickly scanned the area for the nearest bus stop. “Where are we going?” Shindae asked when they had reached it. Yoongi, much to Shindae’s annoyance, just smiled at the girl and tugged his beanie closer onto his head. “It’s a surprise.”   Pursing her lips, Shindae just nodded because she didn’t have much of a choice but to follow him and looked around, not noticing Yoongi’s brown puppy eyes on her. The weather had cooled down since it was nearing eight in the evening and let a soft breeze caress its passing surroundings; Shindae’s shoulder-length hair swayed gently, baring her fair features for the world to admire. Yoongi’s smile softened when he saw her curious eyes travel around and chose to focus on the road again, his smile never leaving his lips.   Soon, the bus came but Shindae noticed that it didn’t have a placard or a led board that told them where they would head to. Judging from Yoongi’s confident strides, the boy knew their destination so again, Shindae just followed after him. They didn’t say anything and after twenty minutes they finally arrived at their harbor.   Sundown was already closer now and Shindae’s mouth fell at the beautiful view of the ocean and the sun that was dipping lower and lower with every passing second. There was no visible beach but a rocky path that led to the calm water, and was apparently where Yoongi wanted to go. Silently, he took her by her elbow and carefully helped her onto a ledge that led to a stone scaffolding that bordered the water. When they had reached the utmost tip that was the farthest away from the mainland, Yoongi sat down in the yellowed patch of grass an
