Sequel-ish

Books

Helloooo everyone. So not many people actually requested for a sequel which was something i kinda saw coming ahahahah, but still, I've decided to write you guys a sequel... Just a warning though, it's not the greatest, but i really wanted to grant you wishes C: hehehehe anyways, i hope you enjoy it nonetheless, and i shall talk to you soon~

Sungmin woke up, still tired and pissed off. He couldn’t find a nice position to sleep in and the never ending thunder last night didn’t help either. He let out a far from attractive yawn and gazed around the room. Where’s Kyuhyun? He thought. He knew for sure that Kyuhyun wasn’t a morning person, and it was only 8 o’clock right now. He crawled to the side of the bed to see a crumbled blanket on the floor. Was he sleeping on the floor?Sungmin frowned and pouted.

“Yah, yah stop pouting. With those bags underneath your eyes, you look like a nagging ahjumma.” Sungmin followed the voice, to the door of the bedroom. He saw Kyuhyun standing at there and he couldn’t help but snort at how Kyuhyun looked himself.

“You’re the one to talk.” He retorted, observing the taller’s pissed off look, with his untamed hair and bags underneath his eye bags.

“Shut up. At least we have something in common.” He muttered, Sungmin tilted his head to the side, indicating the latter to continue. “Couple eye bags.” He grimaced. And threw himself onto the bed where Sungmin was lying on.

“YAH, I could’ve suffocated and died if you landed on me.” Sungmin scolded.

“You’re the one to talk.” He muffled into the pillows, mimicking what the shorter said previously. “You’re the one who kicked me off the bed. URGGHH my back hurts. Kiss it better Min.” he groaned, obviously still half asleep.

Sungmin rolled his eyes, but he couldn’t help but feel concern towards Kyuhyun. “Sorry.” He mumbled, hoping that he didn’t hear. “Hey, Kyu?”

“Hmm?”

“If there was a fire, and you could either run out and save yourself, or save me but die on the way, what would you do?”

“Aren’t you practically asking if I’d die for you?”

“Something like that.”

Kyuhyun sighed, “Just let me go to sleep a bit more.” He mumbled trying to avoid the question.

“Okay then, What about, if we were on a raft, and the only way to save ourselves was to climb a rope. But there is only one rope to save one person. Would you save me? Or yourself?”

“What’s with these questions Min? Just go to sleep.”

“I’m just curious.”

Kyuhyun looked at Sungmin, annoyed. “I don’t know why you keep asking these questions but don’t you think the circumstances are bit illogical? We can both save ourselves. You and I have legs, so we can both escape the fire. There’s one rope, so you can climb it then I’ll climb.”

“S-So you wouldn’t risk your life for me?” he asked in a tiny voice.

“Just go to sleep Sungmin.”

Sungmin stared at Kyuhyun as he fell asleep. He brushed the latter’s fringe the side and whispered sadly. “You know I’d sacrifice my life for you anytime right? You’ve saved me from my misery, and sacrificing my life for you still wouldn’t be enough to show you my gratitude.”

Sungmin dozed off and the house was quiet with a low sound of breathing from the couple.

~

“Hey, I’m going to go somewhere okay?” Kyuhyun said. Sungmin looked up from cleaning the plates and pouted.

“Okay.” He sighed. Kyuhyun glanced at Sungmin worriedly. Even since the little questionnaire, the shorter had been subtly avoiding him.

“I’ll leave now, so be safe..” He said awkwardly, giving him a peck on the cheek. Sungmin couldn’t help but faintly smile.

“Okay then. Be safe okay?” Kyuhyun nodded, and with that, he left.

~

To say the least, Sungmin was utterly bored. He was so bored, that he spent an hour watching the rice cook in the rice cooker. He sighed, and decided that he might as well clean the house, when there was a phone call.

“Hello?”

“S-Sungmin oppa?”

“Ne, who’s this?”

“It’s Sun-Kyu.”

“OH! Sunny, how are you? I haven’t spoken to you in ages. How’s the family? The bookstore-”

“That’s exactly what I want to talk to you about. Oh oppa! They’re closing down the bookstore!”

Sungmin heard her sobbing. He was surprised as the bookstore was a very special place for the two. It was Sun-Kyu’s parent’s hard-earned shop, and the place where he first met Kyuhyun. “What? How?”

“They said that we couldn’t pay off our debts. So they announced that they decided to close it down last week. We can’t close it! We have to do something oppa.”

“Last week? When-”

“When you said that you couldn’t work and told me to come in for you.” Sungmin’s breath became unsteady. When he was happily spending time with Kyuhyun, he was blissfully unaware that the place that started everything was about to close.

“Wait I’ll be there in a minute.”

“Actually I’m not there, I’m at the hospital visiting appa.”

“Okay then. Don’t worry, I’ll try negotiating with them, and if that doesn’t work, I’ll do whatever it takes to get our bookstore back.” With that they hung up and Sungmin ran to the bookstore.

~

Sungmin paced back and forth he didn’t know what he should do. Should he knock and talk to them? Or should he just wait until they go out? He decided that itll be more rational for him to knock, as waiting may take the whole night if they decided to stay there. He went to the door and raised his arm to knock, when he heard familiar voices, making his blood turn cold.

~

“Kangin-ssi.” The said person turn his head around and saw an unfamiliar face.

“And you are?”

“Cho Kyuhyun. Nice to meet you.” He replied, smirking.

~

Sungmin looked through a small hole where he could see both his lover and ex-lover.

“Oh Cho Kyuhyun. I’ve heard a lot about you from my resources. Stealing my property away.”

Kyuhyun scoffed. “Your property? Pft, now humans are properties? Now that’s just bull.”

“Bull? What’s bull is that you took my property away and is probably ing him. He’s good in bed isn’t he?”

“Please. Unlike you lowlifes, I have respect and know when or when not to do that.” Kyuhyun retorted, mentally shaking his head, when he realised how lame the comeback was, but it all didn’t seem to matter, as Kangin seemed to be fuming when he heard the word lowlife.

“Excuse me? Who are you calling low life? You’re the one stealing people’s properties and using them.” He smirked. “Oh, could it be that you can’t get your own, which is why you have to use second hand properties?”

Kyuhyun glared at him, and Sungmin saw that he was about to attack. He clenched his hands and was about to go in when Kyuhyun said something.

“Why do you keep talking about him as though him an object?” He asked in a low serious tone. “He wouldn’t have come to me, if you had treated him properly in the first place.”

Kangin sighed, and Sungmin knew where this was going. He would try to make the other feel bad, and give him what he wanted. “Look man, I’m sorry okay? Truth is, I really do love Sungmin, but to be honest, I can’t express it the way others do. Please, give him back to me. I’m lost without him.”

Sungmin glanced at Kyuhyun. NONONONONO don’t fall for it. Please. “R-really? You actually love him?”

“More than anything else in the world.”

“But I love him too.” Kangin sighed frustratingly.

“Fine, I’ll give you money.”

“Money?”

“Yeah how much do you want? 5 million? 10? Name your price and I’ll give it to you.”

Kyuhyun smirked. “You really think I’d trade my love for a bundle of cash? That’s just pathetic. I’ll talk to you rationally. We’re both men who love the same person right? But, you know what’s different between us? I could be the poorest guy in the world, but with Sungmin I’d feel like the richest. If you were the poorest guy in the world, but you had Sungmin, you’d trade him to get what you want. Without him, I am absolutely nothing. But without him, you’d just find others. You talk about him like he is an object that’s supposed to oblige to you, but I talk about him like he is my life and I should respect him, despite our quarrels.” Kyuhyun paused and glared at Kangin who was now avoiding eye contact. “You know, by what I’ve heard of you, you are a really awful person, sending your lover to get so you can get money, cheating on him, making him work for your money and then gambling away all his hard-earned income and so on.”

“What are you trying to say?” Kangin asked, threateningly.

“If you love someone, wouldn’t they change you to a better person? I’ll tell you something, since Sungmin isn’t here.” Sungmin’s eyes widened as he heard this. Was he going to say something bad? “To be honest, I never truly believed in the concept of love. Why would you risk your life for someone? Who would be stupid enough to sacrifice their life? It’s something so precious that once you lose it everything is over. I never knew why people worried for each other, when they had themselves to worry about. But I finally understand it because of him. It’s because you love, that you worry, you support and you’d even sacrifice yourself for them. I was scared before, but seeing how we had this conversation, I can say now, with certainty, that if there was a fire and I could only save either myself or Sungmin, I’d save him with no hesitation. If there was only one rope to save one of us from a raft in the middle of the sea, I’d willingly give Sungmin the rope so he could survive, because I survived, knowing that he didn’t, there would be no point in living.” Kyuhyun stated sternly. Are you happy with my answer now Sungmin hyung? Because it’s the absolute truth. Sungmin got teary and he broke into a smile. He wanted to run in and apologize to Kyuhyun for giving him the cold shoulder, but he couldn’t.

“Are you done?” Kangin asked, clearly feeling guilty about his past actions.

“You say you love him. Is that the truth?”

“I… don’t know anymore.”

“You never did. But you took his love for granted. You believed that him loving you meant that you could do anything, but once he was gone. You suddenly felt like you were useless. You probably thought that that was love. But really, you were just too dependent on someone else. You treat love like water. When there’s no water, you get thirsty and sad. But when there is too much water, you don’t realise how precious it is.”

Kangin sighed. “You really are a bastard.”

Kyuhyun smiled. “I’m glad we had this conversation.” He turned and was about to walk out but he suddenly stopped. “Oh, and remove the debts from this store. I’m buying it.”

And with that he opened the door, to freeze at who he saw.

“S-Sungmin?” Sungmin glanced at him with teary eyes. He widely smiled and hugged Kyuhyun.

“You really meant everything you said in there?”

“You heard everything?”

“From start to finish.” He replied, cheekily.

Kyuhyun groaned, “Urghh why do you always have to come and witness my confessions whenever I don’t know about it?”

“What do you mean?” Sungmin asked wondering about the other time.

“My book confession and now this one. Urgh, my name’s gonna be cheesy Kyu soon.” He said, shuddering at the name, he made up.

Sungmin laughed. “That’s not a bad name actually.” He replied, receiving a glare from the latter. “But you heard my confession too.”

Kyuhyun stared at him for a second. “What confession?” he asked, clearly feigning innocence.

“Don’t act clueless, you weren’t really asleep when I said that that I’d sacrifice my life for you right?”

“Hahaha you figured it out?”

“Wasn’t too hard to figure out after that confession.” Kyuhyun smiled sheepishly, and opened his mouth to say something when someone opened the door. Their heads both turned to the interrupter, to see Kangin.

“Sungmin.” He said. The said man went up to him and punched him across the face. Kangin and Kyuhyun looked at him shocked, while he smiled widely.

“Sorry, I just needed to do that. And take it as a gesture that our relationship is officially over?” He said cutely, making Kyuhyun burst into laughter, and Kangin cracked a small smile.

“I guess I deserved that, then. I hope you Kyuhyun treated you better than I did, and I’m sorry for all that I’ve done.” With that Kangin bowed and left the two lovebirds in complete confusion.

“What a change of heart.” Kyuhyun muttered. Sungmin chuckled and glanced at Kyuhyun with hopefulness.

“Are you really going to buy the bookstore?”

“Of course. I’m not going to let the place that brought us together close down. Don’t worry. We’ll manage it together and we’ll live happily ever after. Just you and me.”

Sungmin giggled and lightly punched Kyuhyun. “You are beginning to become Cheesy Kyu.”

“Only for you.”

~

1 year later…

~

Sungmin giggled. “Yah we’re at a bookstore, keep your urges to yourself Kyu.”

“Not just any bookstore, our bookstore. And I don’t have any urges, I just want to kiss you.”

“That’s an urge. Stop it Kyu, geez, they’ll be customers soon.”

Ahem.” A voice interrupted, making the couple jump. Sungmin blushed and ran to the other side of the bookstore, while Kyuhyun smirked and stared at the customer.

“What?”

“Wow, great customer service.” The man said, sarcastically.

“Thanks. You can come anytime to see us make out if you want.”

“KYUHYUN!” Sungmin said embarrassingly.

The customer’s friend laughed. “Yah, Hyukkie. Stop being so sarcastic and mean. You have your urges too.”

The said man blushed and whined. “Donghaeeee, don’t be like that. It’s embarrassing.”

“Well it seems like you’ve embarrassed that guy over there too.” He said pointing at Sungmin who was hiding his face with a book.

“Whatever, if you keep siding with them, I won’t buy you this fish book.” Donhae’s eyes widened. He turned to Kyuhyun and Sungmin and bowed.

“Buy it for me Hyukkie. I won’t side with them anymore.”

“Kekeke, that my good Hae.” Kyuhyun made a gagging noise, earning a glare from Hyukkie. He smiled and the couple left.

“Well that was fun.” Kyuhyun said.

“Oh shut up.” Sungmin said sulkily.

Yeah so that was that. The sequel was mainly only circled around the conversation between Kyuhyun and Kangin, but i decided to put the rest of the story in for fun C: anyways yeah.
