Entangled

Description

Some say that arranged marriage is something old-fashioned. Yes, it really is. However, our parents are old-fashioned. Instead of just having those contracts signed as a sign of their partnership, they dragged their children into it.

They said it's better.

They said it's fun.

They said it's wonderful.

That their children are promised to each other because feel that like puzzle pieces, we're fit for each other.

But no. We are not.

We are two different person. We can't seem to click like our parents hoped and we never made effort to do so. We don't talk a lot even if they forced us to live under the same roof and we are that much of an idiot to fight each other because we are reeled into this mess.

We just both don't care. He does his own thing. I do mine. Besides, deep inside we are nothing but human contracts.

And as long as we live we know that our lives are forever entangled.

Foreword

Prologue:

This day went well however it passed so quickly. The time that I dread has come again. Dismissal. As the bell rang its last for the day my frown deepens, I just don't wanna go home yet. That empty hollow space called our house is nothing but blank for me despite its beutiful interior and its expensive furniture.

I wished that school hours can be longer. Or much better if I can move somewhere else and stay there forever. Anywhere just not that place. However, I can't. I cannot even stay at my friend's house for a night, oh my mistake I don't have a friend who I can ask for a sleepover.

I gathered my things and walked towards the door. Instead of walking directly to the exit of the building I took another turned towards the annex. This is where the office of the student council is located. My usual stop before I go home.

I opened the door using my spare key and entered the room locking it behind me. I did not bother switching the lights on despite it being a little dark in there due to sunset. I love the dark. I laid down in the couch and closed my eyes. I sighed. Yes, I really love the dark. And the silence. And this place which is not home.

I heard the door opened and I smiled.

"Still here?" I heard a voice.

I felt someone laid beside me in the couch.

I opened my eyes. "Oh my gosh. Stop doing this, the couch is very small. Two can't barely fit in here."

He smiled. "Better?" He asked me, then pulled me into a hug.

"Better." I replied as I closed my eyes and snuggled into his chest. I inhaled his scent and smiled. I love it when he is here beside me.

I may love the dark, silence, and other things. But there is nothing or no one that I love more than him.

Lu Han.
