The First Crane

Description

If you fold a thousand cranes, you will be granted one wish.

Foreword

The goal of this oneshot was to capture a moment in time.  In this case, I tried to capture the patience and pride that comes with folding a paper crane and to connect these qualities to a wonderful childhood memory.  This oneshot is short--354 words to be precise--but this is a moment in time, and we all know that moments are not meant to last forever.

To surviving junior year.

Chapter 1: Alright, so this is more drabble than oneshot.

It's odd, because even though there are so few words, it's hard to describe this. And I'll be honest. I really don't know what to do with it. It isn't that I don't like the general idea, it's just . . . there wasn't enough here for me to connect to. I get what you were getting at, but I needed more. I know you said you were capturing the moment, and honestly, you did that well, but it doesn't fit into what I had in mind, so I don't know how to grade this fairly.

The plot is worth fifty points, but there isn't enough plot to feel like I am giving you a fair grade either way. Does this make sense?
