Horizon Line

Description

            Prologue

For a long time the horizon had been a monotonous flat blue line separating the Pacific Ocean from the bright sky. Despite the rocky movement of the plane, Seohyun fell asleep. She was exhausted after the long few weeks in the United States.

She had no idea how long she slept. When she awoke up, the horizon was still the plain blue line. The bright screen in front of her displayed in bright red lights “We will be descending in 5 min. Seat belts must be put on at this time. Thank you.” Putting on her seat belt, she tucked the package into her pants pocket of her jeans.

Seohyun stepped off the plane and into the large crowd of family and friends greeting and embracing eachother.

“Seohyun!” She turns around hoping to see him but rather finding the pilot holding her passport as her smile faded away. “Where is he?”

“Pardon?”

“It’s nothing. Thank you.”

He never expected her to look so innocent. As he watched her take her passport from the pilot, he spoke into his intercom. “Give me visuals on every exit, Yuri.” A detailed map of the airport lit up on his phone. Kwon Ji Yong, 22 year old man, worked as a Special Ops agent. He had just gone through a divorcement with his wife and now was ordered to follow a woman who happened to be carrying a “package” identified as Top Secret. When he looked up, the carrier had disappeared from sight. !

“Do you have visuals on her, Yuri?” She had been his partner ever since Cl betrayed them. They worked together well on the field but outside of work was another story. She could pull off as anyone. A girlfriend, babysitter, waitress, pilot. She looked good.

“Yes on it, she’s moving to the left exit by terminal 3.”

He began walking in a rather fast pace toward the exit. The crowd of people blocked his view from Seohyun. Walking briskly, he came to an open area. He scanned around him. Red hair, 5' 6" feet, red hair kept racing though his mind. There. She was standing in front of a heavy set man. Both of them were holding identical packages in their hands. A flash of a camera went off. Yuri had taken a photo of them. Seohyun took in what was happening that second and instantly dashed through the crowd visibly showing that she didn’t care where she ran.

“She’s heading for the elevator!” Yuri screamed into the mic.

“On my way!”

Kwon pushed the man in front of him flat and raced toward her. Security had finally caught on what was happening and ran after him. One got in range of grabbing him so he punched him in the face and continued running. As he neared the elevator, the doors closed with her already inside staring with cold eyes at him. He furiously clicked the buttons to open the door but the elevator had already begun going up to the next floor.

Seohyun stood in the elevator fully aware that it only led to the second floor. She knew any second now that the glossy silver doors would open to see Police Officers surrounding her ready to kill her and take her away. No. She wouldn’t let that happen. Seohyun took one last breath and took out the gun from within the package. She then pulled the fire alarm and the trigger aiming for her heart.
