Pant. Pant. Pant. That's all I heard as I found myself being dragged down a bamboo forest. My other hand trailing behind me as I continued to grip a lightweight, yet sharp blade sword. In front of me was a male in commoner's clothing; however, I couldn't help but feel utterly attracted to him. We continued to run, the bamboo leaves falling like rain, a few landing on our heads, sticking to our hair like hair ornaments.

“Ying Xiong...!” I heard myself say as we continued to run.

“Just keep running, we're almost there!” he reassured me as he gave me a side glance. I smiled gently, nodding as we now found ourselves at a clearing. However, our joy was short lived when we found ourselves now surrounded completely boy foot soldiers. At this, Ying Xiong continued to hold my hand, quietly pulling me toward him so we were officially back to back, both of us now had our weapons drawn.

“The both of you are surrounded now,” we heard an evil, yet familiar voice, “General Li Ying Xiong, you're a hero amongst all of the Central Plains; why must you stoop down to this level and protect the daughter of a traitor?”

“Unlike you, Ex Adviser Guo,” Ying Xiong practically hissed as we kept on alert, “I'm keeping my honor to the Royal Zhou Family and as his highness has instructed me, I will honor his word and protect and care for his only daughter.”

I my lips, my body slightly trembling as I felt tears prick my eyes. However, I inhaled softly, before exhaling and gripping my sword.

“Hmph,” I heard Adviser Guo chuckle evilly, “So those dirty little rumors are indeed true, the lowly General did fall in love with the virtuous Princess... Well sadly, as ordered by the new King, if I must take the Zhou Princess by force, then so be it. Even if it means killing one of China's greatest heroes. Get the Princess and kill Li Ying Xiong if you have to!”

“Ying Xiong...” I whispered brokenly as we pressed our backs together, “Thank you... Thank you so much.”

“Please don't give up just yet,” he reassured me gently, “I wasn't lying when I said I'd honor your late father's words and protect and care for you. Have faith in me and we made a promise, remember?”

“You know I do...” I returned as my tears began to fall and I remembered the words of love he declared to me. I played that moment continuously as I closed my eyes and felt a sharp pain...

~

Loud ringing practically screeched in my ears and I woke up with a start. Instantly, my forehead met with the alarm clock seeing as my sister held the damn thing in front of me. Falling back with a groan, I placed my hand on the sore part, where my forehead had hit the clock while my sister just stared down at me. As usual, Bombom, our family puppy was in her arms as she was still dressed in her pajamas along with this blank look on her face.

Geez, I had such a weird dream last night. I was a Chinese princess and I'm not even of Chinese descent! And why did this Ying Xiong look so familiar? Okay, no more Wuxia dramas before bed... Anyhoo!

“Sis, you're going to be late for work if you keep sleeping,” she warned me offhandedly as she placed my clock back on the floor. Instantly, I shot back up and ripped the covers off of me before I started running around the house while yelling.

Just so you know, it wasn't always like this. Before my father passed away, we were quite the normal family. Mom would always have breakfast ready every morning for the family while the rest of us prepared for either work or school. It wasn't until after Dad's funeral that we started having problems at the house. Mom fell into a bit of a depression and would often go gambling or drinking with a bunch of weird strangers, while my younger sister and I were forced to fend for ourselves. Everyday, I would be forced to play the mother of this family because Mom was either too drunk to do anything or she would disappear for days on end... And then come home drunk. I always got into really bad arguments with her, especially when she was drinking. And everything fell apart about two years ago. It was two days after I graduated from high school, which Mom didn't attend because she was once again gone and when I came home from work, my sister was no where to be seen and Mom was once again, dead drunk. I had a really bad day at work that day and I just couldn't take it anymore. I just started yelling at her, demanding that she tell me where Ha Na went off to and why the house was a complete mess once again. She merely gave me one of her snarky remarks and I just blew up. We both started screaming at each other and Mom just suddenly picked up an empty wine bottle and threw it at my direction. It hit me square on the side of my head before it fell and shattered into a handful of broken pieces. The both of us suddenly fell silent, more tears falling from my eyes as I fell back, my back colliding against the wall as I placed my shaking hand against my injury. Pulling my hand away, I stared as I felt blood drip from my wound and cascaded down the side of my head and down my neck.

When my mom saw that I was bleeding, her eyes went wide and she started screaming for my father to come help me. It took her a few minutes to realize that Dad wasn't going to come running in like he used to whenever Ha Na and I accidentally hurt ourselves. And when it finally sunk in that Dad was forever gone, Mom just ran to her room, grabbed a huge suitcase and just upped and left, while leaving me bleeding.

Ha Na and I never saw her since then.

“Ha Na, hurry up or you'll be late for school!” I shouted as I walked past her room, already dressed in my work uniform. On cue, my sister walked out of her room, dressed and primped up in her school uniform, with Bombom following after her.

After grabbing a cereal bar, my sister and I hurried over to my mode of transportation. An off yellow color Vespa.

“Bye bye Bombom!” my sister called out as she turned to the window, our puppy staring out from it, “Take care of our house and be good!”

Once I dropped off my sister, I went straight to my waitress job back in the city. Although the place was small, it still got pretty busy, especially since it was opened in a rather popular spot for teenagers, families and tourists. And oddly enough, business tycoons as well. Not like I really cared, money was money!

“_____, you've made it in time!” my best friend and also my coworker, Shim Changmin greeted when I walked inside the little cafe, which I also noted was packed once again. Throwing my stuff in my little locker, I quickly grabbed my apron, tied it around my waist and made my way over to Auntie Eun Hye, who by the way wasn't really my real aunt, but she was kind enough to practically take me in when I really needed it. And the fact that she was actually Changmin's grand aunt... So knowing Changmin was an added bonus.

“My apologizes!” I apologized as I bowed. The older woman merely shook her head as she ushered me to just start working. I couldn't help but laugh as I went to help Changmin, who seemed like he was just about ready to collapse from all the weight he was carrying, “Hey! How many times do we have to tell you, you're not Superman!”

“Don't worry about me,” he instructed as he turned a bit and walked past me, “You have tables out there!”

Rolling my eyes, I pulled out my order pad and a pen and went straight for a table, “Hello! Welcome to Auntie Eun Hye's Cafe~ My name's _____ and I'll be servicing you today. Can I start you folks with a drink or if you're ready, I can take your order as well.”

After taking their drink orders, plus something extra for their young child, I went straight over to the kitchen and placed the order on the silver counter. Once that was done, I went to go prepare their drinks before making my way back to the family's table and served them their drinks. After serving the drinks, I went back to go take care of another table, picking up more orders, serving, cleaning up... Etc. This pattern continued for the next few hours and it got even busier during the lunch hours since that's when the office workers came walking in for lunch. Occasionally we'd be graced by someone of the higher ranks in those companies and it seemed like we got lucky today. Once I was done dropping off some orders, I watched as Changmin greeted a really famous face in the hotel/resort business.

Kim Ran Young, one of those top dog elites in the business world. He was also very highly respected and praised. He knew what he was doing and did it perfectly. However, like all humans he did have his flaws, but it was more of a personal thing. Kim Ran Young was a single father of two boys, the eldest obviously the next heir to his hotel/resort empire and the youngest, happens to be my sister's age and she's like 10 years old, turning 11 really soon. Anyway, the flaw in Kim Ran Young's life... Is his eldest son, Kim JaeJoong. His face was probably a lot more famous than his father's own. That reason is because Kim JaeJoong was practically the Korean male version of Lindsey Lohan; a party boy, a drinker, but at least he wasn't a druggie.

At least I haven't seen any news of him being a druggie.

“Mr. Kim, what an honor!” Auntie Eun Hye greeted the aging business man personally, “I'm glad to see you again.”

I was trailing right behind her, staying quiet as she chatted with him about the normal things. I already have a feeling she was going to make me serve him since I left a really good impression the first few times he came in to this little cafe. And of course, the moment Auntie Eun Hye got up, I stepped in with a professional smile.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Kim,” I greeted as I pulled out my order pad and pan, “How are we doing this afternoon?”

“Ah, the usual if you will Miss _____,” he answered with a gentle chuckle, “Actually after this lunch, I'm going to be attending Tae Young's piano recital.”

“How cute,” I smiled, “Speaking of which, how is the family?”

“Oh you know,” he waved a hand and then sighed, “I really don't know what to do with JaeJoong... I mean, I can practically leave Tae Young home alone without much of a worry. But JaeJoong is a completely story.”

I shrugged lightly, “He needs a babysitter by the looks of it...”

Mr. Kim merely looked at me, this weird calculating expression on his aging face as he crossed his arms and tapped a finger on his chin, “Huh, why didn't I think of that?”

“The usual then, Mr. Kim?” I suddenly questioned, not really catching what he said since he was muttering. Looking up at me once again, Mr. Kim gave me a quick nod, which I quickly wrote down and left him to think.

For the rest of the day, I continued with the traditional pattern. It was around the afternoon that Auntie Eun Hye allowed me to take my hour long break, which also meant I had time to go pick up my sister from school, take her home, eat a quick noodle meal before driving back to the Cafe to finish up my shift for the day.

However, something else happened that I wasn't expecting.

“Hey _____, your cellphone's ringing!” I heard Changmin call out from the back. Tucking in my order pad and pen, I untied the straps and quickly went to go answer my phone.

“Hello?” I greeted.

“Sis...” it was Ha Na. Wait... Ha Na?

“I just got off for my lunch break, why are you at the house?” I questioned her as I offhandedly stuffed my apron in my locker. Overhearing my conversation, I saw Changmin peak in from the entrance and look at me funny.

“Min Na's mommy randomly took me home,” she answered blankly as I overheard Bombom barking in the background, plus some other weird noises, “Sis... There are really weird people over here and they're randomly taking stuff. They keep telling me Mommy never paid them back... What do they mean by that?”

“MOM TOOK MONEY FROM LOAN SHARKS?!” I screeched, ignoring Changmin's noticeable wince, “Oh my God! That woman! She never ceases to amaze me! Ugh, stay put there Ha Na, I'm coming home!”

“Okay,” was all my sister said as she hung up the phone. The moment we hung up, I started raiding my locker, picking up my stuff before I bolted past Changmin and out the back door, where my Vespa was currently parked. Putting on my helmet, I started my Vespa and made my way back home.

Even though I was in a rush, I also wanted to conserve gas well. The money I earned from the Cafe was just barely enough to sustain my sister and I with food and those small things we needed. And even though I worked hard, the tips barely covered my gas. Honestly, I kinda hated where I worked at since it was so demanding, but I was too close to Auntie and Changmin, I couldn't just up and quit.

Honestly, I can't believe this woman! I was wondering where the hell she got all that money for buying drinks and constantly gambling. She wasn't taking any money from me, which I was happy about since I was trying to save up for university. However, that completely went down the drain after she left and I had to take care of Ha Na, plus all this extra crap my Mom made during her mourning period.

Although our house was out of town, it wasn't that much of a drive to the big city. Which I was happy about since going from the house to work wasn't too much of a problem. But still...

“This is ridiculous!” I cried out as I sped up to our property once I finally made it home. And just like my sister had said, there was a black van parked next to the entrance of the gate and there were a handful of thugs chasing our chickens. There were also a few more walking out of the house with some of my dad's old but valuable stuff and that right there got me angry, “Hey! What do you think you're doing?!”

Hearing my voice, the thugs paused from whatever they were doing and instantly looked at me. Although I was angry, I kind of sunk away since it suddenly got really uncomfortable. Hey! Don't blame me! You come here, stand at my spot and tolerate a bunch of thugs that gave you this stare like they meant business. And just so you know, I have NO knowledge of self defense minus screaming, flailing my body around and if there was a chance, kick them where it really hurts.

“'ey Boss!” one of those greasy monkeys called out as he looked at me up and down, “Dis must be da older sista dat lil' brat was talkin' 'bout.”

Out of nowhere, this scrawny guy holding a metal baseball bat came walking out of the house. Kinda of pretty faced, especially with the sunglasses, with some facial hair and his hair styled like the typical Asian bad boy. He had a few ear piercings as well. He was also wearing a business suit, though it wasn't worn like one; the collar was popped up, the coat was left , he was wearing a white wife beater under the coat but he wore his pants correctly at least. Ha! Oh Miracles...

“Get her,” he spoke, his voice kind of cold and deep. Soon, I found myself being held, which I started screaming and flailing my body around. However, the grip the guys had on me started to hurt and I swear these guys were probably giving me bruises. The leader also had walked up to me and stuffed a piece of cloth in my mouth, which made me want to throw up because there was this weird and bitter taste coming from it.

The guy merely smirked at me, “A bit of a fighter too? I'm beginning to like you... I love breaking girls, especially girls like you.”

Hearing that, the anger I had earlier completely disappeared and sheer terror replaced it. I also wanted to cry, but I held myself back. I think the guy was about to say something, but soon we all heard yelling and the sound of punches and kicks. Instantly, the leader stood up straight before he ripped off his glasses and stared at the entrance of my family's property.

“_____! Ha Na!”

Oh my God! Thank you–oof! I then found myself being dropped and shoved to the dirt below me. I then ripped the cloth that was in my mouth and began coughing violently. Seriously, whatever the hell that taste was, I was going to have to gargle bleach to get that damn taste out. Turning around, I saw three familiar faces beating the crap out of the thugs.

“Sis, I called Changmin...” I overheard Ha Na informed me from inside the house. Looking up at her from my spot on the floor, I merely smiled and gave her a quick wave. I then pushed myself up, dusting my uniform off but I knew I had to change to the extra pair I had. But once I finished, I heard the thugs running back to their van, plus the leader who no longer had his pretty boy image since it was all bloody and disfigured while he shouted out his revenge or whatever.

“_____, are you okay?” Changmin asked me as he jogged up to me and quickly looked me over, “Eh, I knew I should have followed you home.”

“Stop,” I couldn't help but laugh, “I'm fine... Thanks though.”

“When did loan sharks start harassing you?” Kim Junsu, a neighbor of mine and one of Changmin's friends questioned me as he shook his hand, “Ow, that's a first time I've been in a fist fight.”

“Actually, just today,” I answered with a sigh and shook my head, “I really don't know what the hell my mom's been doing since my father died, but by the looks of things... I officially have more debt to clear up for her.”

“You know, if you need any help, just say so, _____,” Park Yoochun, another one of my neighbors and another friend of Changmin's informed me.

I merely smiled lightly, “Guys, I'm fine... But thank you for your concern.”

I ended up staying home for the rest of the day. We called Auntie Eun Hye and told her what happened and she immediately allowed me to have the day off and then forced Yoochun and Junsu to replace me for a few days. Though I did say I was going to be fine by the next day, she insisted that I take a few days off. There was no point in arguing with her since she was just as stubborn as Changmin when she wanted to be.

To be honest with you, I wasn't taking the day off. During the time I was off, I ended up going back to the city and taking in a few odd jobs. I didn't tell this to anyone, but I really needed the extra money since I found out that Mom was also in debt to some loan sharks. With that thought, I couldn't just sit at home, resting. Ugh! This was completely stressing me out. I don't know what I did in my past life that's making me suffer in this one... But whatever it was, I was officially paying for it now.

I was currently working at the Supermarket, breaking down the boxes that were used to ship in more of the stocks. My sister had a day off of school today, so I didn't have to worry about her and she was currently staying at a friends house anyway. It was kind of warm, all of this heavy lifting making me sweat like no tomorrow. But I had to endure it since I really needed the money. But I was really hoping that I'd have my break really soon... And I mean really soon. I was just about ready to pass out when I heard my name being called.

“_____, you have some visitors!” I overheard my boss tell me when he came walking out from inside the Supermarket. I merely looked at him, but shrugged when I removed my gloves, stuffed them in my pocket and went to go follow him. Yawning, I then stopped when I found myself being greeted by these men in black suits and sunglasses. They looked utterly professional and I found myself second doubting my status as a working class netizen.

“Are you Miss Choi _____?” the big guy in the front questioned me. I merely nodded obediently, afraid for myself and prayed that I wasn't going to say something wrong that would cost me my life or something, “We have a proposition for you from Mr. Kim Ran Young.”

Huh?

“Mr. Kim Ran Young?” I repeated, surprised, “As in, the chain resort owner?”

“That would be correct Miss Choi,” the big guy in front answered, “We would like for you to come with us and speak with you about this matter... Privately.”

“I... Uh... I'm working... Right now...” I muttered almost incoherently but my boss merely shook his head.

“It's fine _____, just be sure to come back if you can,” he assured me, which I couldn't help but just give him a look.

But I ended up following these guys anyway. And I still felt really uncomfortable since I looked like a complete mess and I probably uh... Smelt. I couldn't help but shiver from that thought but no one really said anything.

I was then escorted to a long, black limousine and the big guy opened the door and allowed me inside. I awkwardly climbed in and took the seat that was the closest to the window. Looking around, I notice the mini bar thing, a flat screen and some other stuff I couldn't really describe. I was then asked if I wanted something to drink and I merely took a bottle of water. Much to my surprise, I watched as the big guy opened the mini fridge and took out a glass bottle of water. Well, that was a complete first for me. I then watched as the guy had to open it with a bottle opener. Another first for me. I then reached over and gently took it from him, officially amused at this glass bottle of water and I took a sip of it.

And oh my God! That was the best glass bottle of water I have ever tasted! Granted, it was the only glass bottle of water I have ever tasted. But it was the best tasting water I have ever had in my years of living in this lifetime!

Rich people sure are spoiled.

Anyway!

Besides the little water episode, the ride was utterly quiet. While I was enjoying my first glass bottle of water, I quietly looked outside the tinted window. We were outside the big city and going toward the countryside, which was actually opposite of my neck of the woods. This countryside housed a lot of celebrities and high class rich people. It was a beautiful place too... I remember going down here every now and then when my dad was alive. He worked with a lot of elites in his life time, but he wasn't really recognized, which sadden me but dad always told me that wealth and fame never buys pure happiness. Unfortunately, money was something I was short of and I needed it badly in order for Ha Na and I to survive.

My thoughts were broken when the limo came to a stop. Instantly, I turned to the men in black suits, who were climbing out of the limo and stood right outside the door. I was then helped out of the limo, the men in black suits then escorting me inside the huge resort. This was probably the first time I've been inside one of the Kim's resorts and I have to say, it was like a freaking palace! Both inside and out was indescribably beautiful and white and I couldn't help but feel like Cinderella when I walked in. People were walking to and fro, some giving me a few glances and looks since I really stood out like a sore thumb. I was dressed in overalls, a dirty spaghetti strap top, a red bandana which I had used so I didn't have my hair in my face while I was working and dirty sneakers as well. Ugh, they really chose a good time to bring me to this heavenly like place.

I was then escorted up some stairs and down a quiet but beautifully decorated hall. There weren't any doors, but there was a door at the other end of this hall and I was going to assume that this was most likely Kim Ran Young's office or his room. However, when I was allowed inside this room, Mr. Kim wasn't inside and the door was merely closed. That uncomfortable feeling came back and I was then ushered to sit down. I did so and the big guy who did most of the talking to me merely sat down on the other side of the desk.

“I apologize for taking you all the way here Miss Choi,” the big guy apologized as he took off his sunglasses and folded his hands on the desk, “But we were asked by Mr. Kim Ran Young that we speak to you privately on his proposition for you.”

I only nodded.

“Anyway,” he continued, “My name is Jung Jin Suk, I'm one of Mr. Kim's personal assistants and representatives whenever he cannot make it to events or meetings. Mr. Kim apologizes that he cannot be here to speak with you personally on this matter. And if you're wondering why we took you all the way here to Mr. Kim's head resort, this proposition cannot be released to the public... For the safety of both your family and Mr. Kim's reputation. So, let's just get straight to the point?”

Again, I nodded.

“Mr. Kim has asked me if you would be interested in a babysitting job,” this Jung Jin Suk informed me in his professional manner, “He will be offering you a generous amount of money to help you and your younger sister with your financial issues.”

“Wait,” I interrupted, “How did Mr. Kim know

“He was told of your situation,” was all Jung Jin Suk told me, his tone making me shut up and not press the issue any further, “Anyway, you will be picked up and escorted to the Kim Manor, watch over Mr. Kim's son until Mr. Kim returns from work and then you will be escorted back home. You are allowed to do whatever you please, but never, under any circumstance should Mr. Kim's son be allowed to leave the property.”

Most likely Auntie Eun Hye...

“And my sister?” I asked.

“Your sister will also be picked up, go to school and returned to the Kim Manor to be with you and the both of you shall be going home at the same time.”

Well, that doesn't sound too bad, I mentally mused as I leaned back on the seat and thought about it. I was allowed to do whatever I want as long as I make sure Mr. Kim's son doesn't leave the property. That shouldn't be too hard, since Tae Young I hear was a nice boy. But it made me wonder what exactly did he do that made his father so angry that he's not allowed to leave the property? Biting my lip, I then looked at Mr. Jung as he prepared some papers.

“Okay, so my sister and I will be picked up from our home or wherever, you'll drop her off to school and I'll be going straight to the Manor to watch over Mr. Kim's son. Then, you'll also be picking up my sister and return her to the Manor and we'll both be going home once Mr. Kim returns from work?”

“That would be correct Miss Choi.”

“Will I be allowed to leave the property for anything?”

“If there's anything you need, all you need to do is ask and it'll taken care of for you.”

“So, you're saying that I can't leave the property either...?”

“In a nutshell, yes I am.”

Eesh... What an .

Even though I wasn't allowed to leave the property either, I ended up signing the papers anyway. This wasn't something I planned on passing up, granted I'd feel like a complete prisoner, but I was a prisoner in a rich person's house! I was allowed to do whatever the hell I wanted, just as long as I made sure Tae Young doesn't leave the property.

The next day as stated during my little private meeting with Mr Jung, my sister and I were greeted by a chauffeur in a everyday looking van. Both Ha Na and I merely looked at each other before shrugging and climbing in. Once Ha Na was dropped off at school, I was then taken to the Kim Manor, which was at the countryside and just a few miles away from the Kim resort.

Once again I was greeted by a gigantic palace. There was a security gate and a super long driveway, which had beautiful blooming trees lined up in perfect intervals. I couldn't help but smile as I watched a gentle breeze blew by and released a few blossoms from the branches, causing it to rain flowers. A sense of tranquility brushed over me as we drove by the trees and to the actual manor. I surveyed the property, which seemed to be going for miles on end and I swallowed.

I hope Tae Young doesn't go outside...

Taking in a deep but quiet breath, I waited as the chauffeur climbed out of the van and opened the door for me. I too hopped out of the van and I was instantly greeted by a long line of people dressed in uniforms and at the end of the line stood Mr. Kim and two other males, who I was going to assume was his sons. I instantly knew who JaeJoong was, since he was always on the damn news, well the gossip portion and he didn't seem too happy. Mr. Kim and the other male, who I realized wasn't exactly school aged seemed to be pleased to see me.

Wait, where was Tae Young?

“Good morning, Miss _____~” Mr. Kim greeted me as he smiled, “I hope your ride here was comfortable? I apologize for not bringing you anything fancier, but I hope Mr. Jung informed you of this secrecy.”

“It's alright Mr. Kim,” I reassured as I finally made it up to the damn platform, “I'm not really comfortable with limousines, so the van was fine.”

“What a modest commoner...” I overheard JaeJoong mutter as he crossed his arms over his chest and rolled his eyes. Mr. Kim instantly sent his son a look before returning his attention back to me.

“I apologize about JaeJoong's behavior,” Mr. Kim smiled again, “He's just upset with this sudden arrangement.”

“Upset?” JaeJoong questioned sarcastically, “I'm almost 24 years old and you're hiring this... Poverty infested worker to be my ing babysitter!”

Okay, I'll allow that insult slide since your father's here...

“Wait what...?” I blinked as I looked at Mr. Kim, confusion written all over my face, “Who exactly am I babysitting?”

“JaeJoong of course!” Mr. Kim replied, glaring daggers at JaeJoong's direction, “You gave me the greatest idea that day and I needed to hire a girl who wouldn't fall head over heels in love at first sight with my son. And you're a responsible and highly reasonable girl, you were the perfect candidate for this. Who else were you thinking of babysitting?”

I could only stare, my eyes going from Mr. Kim to JaeJoong who was still fuming and back at Mr. Kim once again.

Never saw that one coming.

~

Staring out the window, I sighed heavily as I awaited for my punishment. Honestly, my father could be so unreasonable, it wasn't even funny anymore. How could he honestly expect me to be cooped up in this God forsaken place I'm forced to call home? I wanted to be free, like the birds I watch fly away every now and then.

“Princess, his Highness wishes to see you,” a servant informed me. Rolling my eyes, I pushed myself up and made my way toward my door. Pushing it open I was instantly surrounded by servants, who guided and followed me over to my father's den, where he usually worked at. And the moment I entered it, I saw this really handsome individual standing next to him, but unlike most of the handsome boys I've seen, this guy was dressed in commoner's clothes and the fact that he had a piece of straw in his mouth as he slouched and looked around.

What the...?

“_____, meet your new bodyguard,” was all my father said, never bothering to look at me. My mouth fell open and all I could do was stare as this guy looked at me and smirked.

“Please, treat me kindly Princess~” he grinned as he bowed all sarcastically.
