Suzy kept staring on her lifeless body behind the glass window separating her and the ICU. She wasn’t able to understand. What was happening actually?Why her body lied helplessly on an ICU bed and her soul... her soul was trapped in a stranger’s body?

GD kept staring at the woman stood besides him right now. Clearly, he thought about the same thing. He still couldn’t believe his eyes. He wasn’t dreaming that the girl standing besides him right now is Yoona... his Im Yoona! But how could she insisted she is Suzy? How could such a strange thing happened? He couldn’t help but asking himself over and over again.

Suzy looked at GD uncomfortably.

“Don’t stare at me like that! I’ve told you I’m Suzy! I swear to God I am not the so-called your Im Yoona! I don’t know if I’m actually crazy right now, but I’m not lying to you! I am Suzy, Suzy Bae... the girl you just met yesterday! And stop talking Korean with me! I don’t understand you!”

GD kept glaring at Suzy. He pinched his own cheek to make sure everything wasn’t just a dream.

“Say something...”, Suzy pleaded, “I don’t want to be the only crazy person in here...”

“I still don’t understand! How... how could this be?”

“How many time will you ask the same question? How many time should I reply my answer? I don’t know! The only thing I know right now is that I was trapped! I am Suzy Bae and I was trapped inside a body of someone I don’t know, okay?”

“I don’t know if this is actually make sense, or I’m starting to be a lunatic. But if... as if you’re Suzy-”

“I am Suzy! This is not an as-if situation...”

“Fine... Let say you’re Suzy... then... where’s Yoona right now?”

GD and Suzy looked at each other for a moment before they throw their sights to Suzy’s comatose body inside the ICU...\

“Impossible...”, they gasped in unison.

Suzy sat nervously, clutching a paper cup of warm water. Her eyes fixed to the door and her fingers kept knocking on the rim of the paper cup, making annoying sounds, at least on GD’s ear. After a while, impatiently she put her glass on the table and walked towards the big mirror hung inside the bathroom. She stared to her new self. She touched her face down to the wavy hair flailing on the shoulder. Who would’ve ever dreamt of something like this? A lot of things happened overnight. Just overnight, she became someone she doesn’t even know who.

Suzy immediately walked outside the bathroom as she heard the sound of the door. She saw GD threw his body onto the sofa placed in the corner of the room. 

“How is it?”

“How is it what?”

“Darn! I’m getting crazier by any second!”, she grumbled. “I didn’t even know what question should I ask you!”

“Just don’t ask at all...”

“Are you kidding me!?”

“Just give me a glass of water...”, GD pleaded.

Suzy glared indisbelief, “A glass of water? You’re still asking for a glass of water? Are you really kidding me?”

“I’m thirsty”, he protested. “Didn’t you know how hard it is to avoid those reporters outside? They were driving me crazy!”

“The only thing you do was running away! How hard is it compare to your manager who’s still stuck outside?”

“Jason knows what he should do!”

“Selfish bastard!”

“Stop calling me bastard!”

“Fine... selfish brat!”, she muttered in annoyance.

“I still can hear that...”, he warned her.

“Does your manager know about us?”

“What us? There’s no such an us in here...”

“I mean... about this”, she pointed at herself from head to toe, “Me and Yoona thingy?”

“Of course not! Do you think he will believe such kind of non-sense?”

“Then what did you say to him?”

“I didn’t say anytthing”

Suzy took a seat besides GD and handed him a glass of water. He drank his water in a sip before trying to rest his head for a moment.

“What do they want from you? Those reporters?”, Suzy softened her tone.

“Just like reporters do... looking for a hot steamy gossip. What else?”

“I still couldn’t believe that you’re actually a celebrity!”

“I still couldn’t believe I haven’t turned to a lunatic... yet...”

“You!”

“I think they knew our relationship...”, he looked at Suzy uncomfortably. “I mean... my relationship with Yoona.”

“Then?”

“About the news of Yoona’s suicide attempt... I have no idea on how could something spread so fast. Just like virus. Beside, Those reporters aren’t stupid. They can relate the suicide attempt and me easily.”

“Is it true?”

“About what?”

“Did Yoona really try to kill herself because of you?”

“Why did you ask?”

“Excuse me??”, Suzy glared in disbelief. “Should I remind you about this? I am Im Yoona for the time being. Deal with it! Aren’t you supposed to at least tell me about your relationship with me... I mean her... I mean... you know... this body?”

“Maybe you’re right...”

“About which part?”

“Weren’t you asking me about my relationship with her and her suicide attempt?”

“So is that true?”

“I don’t know...”, he answered in frustation. “I’m not sure about this...”

“Ah...”, Suzy looked at GD fro head to toe, over and over again. “I still couldn’t believe that you’re actually a celebrity. You know... about the shades and the cap thing. I thought you were just an anti-social. I can’t believe it...”

“I am not! I’m just a musician! It’s a two completely different thing! I love music. That’s what I am. ”

“So how about the ring? Were you actually planning to propose? If you were, why did you throw the ring away?”

“Why did you ask so many questions? I’m tired...”

“It’s not an answer...”

“I was planning on proposing, that’s true. But that night, I saw with my own eyes that the woman I love, this woman I love, a woman I trusted to spend the rest of my life with, was kissing another guy. It wasn’t just a kiss... it was... a real kiss... ahhh”, he messed his hair in frustation, “You won’t understand... just forget it!”

“Oh My God, are you kidding me? It was just a kiss. You don’t even know what’s actually happened! Eyes could be deceiving you know?”

“I told you, you won’t understand!”

“So you broke up with her?”

“Stop asking! My head hurts!”

“Fine! Just forget I’ve ever asked! So what’s your plan for now?”

“How am I supposed to know? How about you?”

“What about me?”

“What’s your plan?”

“I don’t know...”, she sighed desperately. “My life’s even more pathetic than yours. I was stucked inside this body. What should I do so I could swap my soul back to that body? For now, I’m just a person without identity. As if you understand what I was talking about. Forget about it!”

GD laughed wryly. Suzy rolled her eyes in annoyance.

“What are you laughing at?”

“Aren’t we supposed to be two strangers who don’t know each other by today?”

“Theoritically, we should. But... what can we do? I don’t think it would happen any time soon. It looks like our relationship will be more difficult than it was supposed to be. You know... you, me, and this body...”

GD threw his paper cup to the bin in despair. Not long after, he suddenly jumped out of his seat with a wide smile.

“You’re right! You’re right!”, his voice sounded brighter that before, “You’re right, baby! I mean... Suzy! I’m sorry... I wasn’t getting used to call you Suzy... with that body...! I have a plan!”

“Let alone you! I even can’t believe my new self. Everytime I look in the mirror, I surprised myself with the stranger staring back at me!”

“Aren’t you supposed to be happy because you’ve turned into a beautiful lady with just overnight?”

“So you were telling me that I was an ugly kid before?”, she protested.

“Why you always took my words negatively?”

“Just tell me what’s your plan.”

“You know... you are Im Yoona now... and I’m GD...”

GD stared at Suzy with brightful eyes. Suzy stared back at him in horror. She shook her head immediately.

“No, no, no! Don’t you dare to say it!”

“They want gossips? We’re giving them one!”

“Do you want to die in my hand?”

Suzy turned the TV off and knocked her head on the table. She couldn’t believe that she finally agreed to the most ridiculous idea she has ever heard out of GD’s mouth. God, what stupidity was this?

“I couldn’t believe myself!”

“You know this is the best way for us. For you, me and Yoona...”

“I only agreed for you to announce your relationship with Yoona, not your wedding! You didn’t even discuss about the wedding before and suddenly, you told the reporter that you did propose and you’re getting married ?”

“We’re getting married...”, GD cut her off, “You have to remember, Suzy is lying there on the ICU and you are Im Yoona... with that body.”

“You made me thinking that you doesn’t really love Yoona. I felt like you’re such a selfish person... this near to become a douchebag! How could she attempted such a suicide for you? A waste of time...”

“I’m sorry? Are you talking about me?”

“Isn’t that so? Right now, the only thing you were thinking about was yourself. You did this to save your self, your face on the media, your popularity. Wasn’t it?”

“You left the most important thing. Was this thing harming both of you and Yoona in anyway? Have you ever think that this could bring the best solution to all of us? Think about it carefully. If you can cooperate with me, I’m willing to pay for your medical expenses. Besides... you’re able to do the thing that made you coming here on the first place... looking foor your dad! Would it harm you in anway? How would have happened if you can’t pay your medical expenses? Don’t you know how expensive that is? They will just cut you off! You don’t even have any chance to go back to your own self! Meanwhile for Yoona, those people won’t stressed her out with all those questions regarding our relationship, her suicide attempt, her... I don’t know! Could you imagine waking up from a coma and being surrounded by those freaking questions? I was helping her to clean her name, to solve her problem. Would it harm both of you in any way? You know the answer!”

“Oh, don’t you start with me!”

“What would you do if you were in my shoes?”, he asked her in frustation.

“I don’t know! That’s why I’m going to let you off the hook this time!”

“So at least we agreed on a same thing here.”

“So what’s next?”

“You have to remember, now you are Yoona... Im Yoona, my fiancee. If everything can go back to normal-”

“What do you mean by if!?”, Suzy protested.

“Fine... after everything went back to normal, you and I are just two strangers who don’t know each other, just as it was... GD and Suzy. We can go back to our previous life. You don’t need to worry about this.”

“So where do we start? This plan?”

“Ring...”, he cut her off, “We need a ring...”

They shared a moment of silence as they looked at the ring lingered on Suzy’s comatose body.

GD threw bunches of print-out papers on the table in front of Suzy. Suzy didn’t pay that much attention. She kept muttering on the imitation ring circled on her finger, Yoona’s finger. GD looked at her in disbelief.

“I never thought this day will come for me to marry a little kid like you...”

Suzy growled. “What did you just say? I have more disadvantages than you! I’m a girl and this is my wedding. I never thought that my wedding will be this... this fake!”, she looked back at her imitation ring, “Like this ring...”, she softened her voice like a cry-baby.

“Now look who’s talking about a serious wedding...”

Suzy snickered. “Can you please at least just give me a good memory out of this? This ring... look at this ring!”

“And whose fault is that? If you weren’t forcing Yoona’s ring onto your finger, you won’t wear the ring that you’re wearing right now!”

“Forced into my finger? Were you just calling me fat?”, she protested.

“You want to say that the ring minimized itself while you were wearing it?”

“Ohh I’m so hating you!”

“Don’t waste your time bothering me with stupid things. Just do what you’re supposed to do, learn those papers.”

“What’s that?”

“Every single thing you can learn about Yoona. I’ve listed it for you. Just remember it. You’re not Suzy Bae anymore. Now... you’re Im Yoona. Engrave it in your mind!”

Suzy briefly browsed the papers on the table. Her eyes widened by each pieces.

“You want me to memorize all of this?”

GD nodded slightly. “Of course. Now you’re Im Yoona, so act like one! Work hard on those papers. I want you to be as perfect as her... no any trails of Suzy Bae. I’m not that sure you’ll be able to do that... but just... just try, okay?”

“Excuse me? Now you’re calling me a stupid?”

“My God! Why do you have to think negatively of every words I said?”, he hissed in annoyance and threw a book onto the table.

“And what is this?”

“I want you to learn Korean.”

Suzy widened her eyes, “Were you just giving me a death sentence? I’m the only one here whose supposed to attempt a suicide... not you... not Yoona... it’s me! Suzy Bae!”

“About the picture...”, GD softened her voice.

“What picture?”

GD pulled a piece of picture out of his pocket, “Your dad’s picture”, he paused for a moment, “I asked Jason to help me retrieving any information we can get about your dad...”

Suzy took a deep breath as she looked into the mirror once again. A figure of beautiful slender woman with a sparkling blue velvet gown was smiling back at her.

“Suzy, fighting! You can do this!”, Suzy tried to convince herself

A moment after, GD walked inside the waiting room where Suzy was waiting for him nervously. GD took a slight glimpse of himself on the mirror.

“Are you ready？”

“Hardly can’t wait...”, Suzy snickered.

“Come on... show me the love. You looked like a ghost...”

Suzy tried to smile. GD couldn’t help but laugh.

“What now?”, Suzy growled in annoyance.

“Stop trying. It’s just simply scary...”

“You’re the one asking me to smile!”

“Have you memorized everything?”

Suzy nodded slightly, “I have A+ on my memorizing skill...”

“Perfect!”

He walked towards her and took her hand softly. This is the first time Suzy saw GD smiled in another light. His smile just now felt really comforting. Maybe this idea wasn’t as bad as she thought previously.

“GD...”, Suzy called him nervously, “About... about my dad...”

GD patted her hand, “The only thing you have to worry about right now is how would you smile infront of the reporters. Don’t think about anything else... at least until this press conference ended. Are you able to do that?”

“I think so...”, she took a deep breath once again and smiled. “I think so...”

Camera flashes on each second and those questions asked by the reporters definitely can make Suzy collapse anytime soon. Most of the reporters were asking regarding GD and Yoona’s marriage plan. Jason, GD’s manager, tried to control the situation by answering most of the questions, making Suzy felt unease. The only thing Suzy did was smile. Oh... and nodded in some occasion.

“Im Yoona... Im Yoona... what’s your comment on the marriage plan?”

“How could both of you kept this relationship for all these time?”

“Did you really try to kill yourself because GD betrayed you?”

“About the third person, is that right?”

Those kind of questions... are those rhetorical questions? They definitely know the answer, why bother asking? Darn! Suzy, think! Her brain wasn’t working really well within this particular moment. Once in a while she took a peek on GD, waiting for his reaction on how to answer those questions. GD didn’t let her to talk because he didn’t believe her memorizing skill... and at this point, he’s right. Her answers will only worsened the matter.

“What’s with the silence, I’m Yoona? Someone’s stopping you from talking?”, one of the reporter mocked her.

All eyes were on Suzy now. If she could, she would just pretend to collapse... end of discussion. Her brain was over-heated. But... should she really try pretending to collapse?

“I really do apologize to all of my friends here. As you guys know, Im Yoona is just a very shy and down-to-earth kind of a woman”, GD answered on her behalf. All eyes were now looking at him. “I hope you can understand that it’s even this close for her not coming to this press conference. It’s just harder than I thought...”, he tried to make a joke as an ice-breaker. They’re cooperating.. they did laugh.

Wow. It was a close call for Suzy. Now, she can only hope for the time to go faster. The only thing she wanted right now is silence, a room of her own to be Suzy Bae and not Im Yoona.

“A question for you, GD!”, someone suddenly shouted out from the reporters bench. “Do you really love her? Or this was just all acting for our consumption?”

It was all silence now. Every eyes were staring at him. All... including Suzy and Jason. Without any doubt, GD smiled and pulled Suzy to stand up. He pulled her body closer. Suzy stared at him in surprise. No, no, no... don’t you dare...

“Of course I do love her...”

With the statement, he reached for her lips and kissed it deeply.
