The Day
OrdealJin Kyong’s POV:
The next morning when I woke up, the first thing I did was to check up on channie’s temperature. It was more or less, close to normal. I let out a soft sigh in relief and kissed his forehead.
It was still too early in the morning and he was finally sleeping with a peaceful look gracing his cute, handsome face. A small smile escaped my lips but it soon disappeared once I realized it was ‘THE’ day. I have decided to get an abortion.
I wanted to spend some time with him before going through the most heartbreaking day for any conceived woman. So I slowly slid into the bed beside him and wrapped my arms around him. I continued to lie down like that as tears flowed non-stop.
His warm body along with his steady heartbeat was the only comforting thing. My emotions were in total turmoil. An hour would have passed, when my phone started to ring. I quickly rolled to its side and answered it.
“Hello?” I answered a bit unsure as I didn’t read the caller id.
“Hello Jin Kyong-ah. It’s me, Dr. Jang. I just read your message. Are you sure?”
“Yeah I’m sure.” I replied, trying to keep my tone as normal as possible.
She let out a sigh, “It looks like you have made up your mind and there’s nothing I can do to change it. Okay then, see you at the hospital later. But just remember it’s still not too late to change your mind.”
“Yeah, I will think about it. Thank you, Dr. Jang.” I disconnected the call and got back to my old position. A few minutes later, I felt Channie stir up.
I remembered that he was angry/upset with me before he went to bed last night. So I slowly rolled onto the other side and acted like I was still asleep. A minute or two later, I felt a soft kiss on my temple while I continued to remain motionless.
I heard a few shuffling here and there before the room became completely silent again. I peeked a little and noticed that he wasn’t there. I stood up from the bed and set it right while I heard water splashing in the bathroom.
I walked out of the room and went up to the kitchen. My nauseous feeling is under check now. I tried helping the maids in preparing the breakfast while they refused taking my help and eventually I ended up getting dragged out by Hansuke.
I sat on the living room couch, sulking. No one allowed me to work and they don’t even know I’m pregnant. I wonder what they will do if they come to know of it. Sanghyun was almost ready for school while Hansuke was already ready. My baby brother said he feels sick and so he wasn’t going to the school.
A few minutes later, Ho Seok walked inside. “Oppa,” I waved at him cheerfully.
He chuckled at my childish behavior and approached me. “How many times should I ask you not to call me oppa? We hardly have four months difference.” He asked after flopping down beside me.
It was my turn to let out a chuckle this time. “I know. But I like teasing you.” I stuck out my tongue at him. He shook his head smiling before ruffling my hair.
“Aish! Why does everyone like to mess up my hair?” I kind of whined, setting back my already messed up hair.
Before he could answer, the little devil made an appearance. “That’s because noona is cute like a small kid.” With that he messed up my now set hair. I huffed and glared at him.
“Yah Sanghyun-ah!” I playfully yelled at him, who was now sitting on my other side. “I hate you.” I pouted.
“I love you too noona,” he kissed my cheeks before engulfing me in a big embrace. I returned his embrace as he now set my messy hair. “Now you look pretty noona.” He smiled widely and I did the same too.
“Oppa, why are you here?” I turned to Ho Seok now.
“I came to pick up Hansuke and Sanghyun. You know, carpool time.” He joked.
“Ah,” was the only word that came out of my mouth as I know what was happening. Channie must still be in a foul mood to not drop the little ones at school.
“Breakfast is ready,” the head maid announced.
“You didn’t have your breakfast yet, did you?” I asked Ho Seok while he shook his head. “Come,” I hooked my arms around the two guys and dragged them to the dining room.
Hansuke showed up in a few minutes, bringing my brother along with him. But Channie was nowhere to be seen. I helped the guys take a seat and distributed the plates to them. I slowly slipped away from there and spoke to one of the maids.
“Did Chan Hee have his breakfast?” she shook her head. I thanked her and went away looking out for him. I looked everywhere in the house except for our bedroom, hoping that I would get a glimpse of his figure somewhere or the other.
Finally left with no choice, I peeked in
