It was raining.

A lone man standing on top of the rooftop of a building stared at the people passing by and cars driving below.

His whole figure drenched wet, his bangs clinging to his forehead.

He just stood still, staring down, eyes unblinking.
 
'I should jump..'

He blinked away the raindrops that clung to his eyelashes.

'End it all..'

He took a small step forward, inching his foot closer to the edge.

Suddenly he felt a rough tug from the back of his collar.

He turned his head to the side.

Thunder rumbled loudly.

He stumbled back into the ground, away from the edge of the rooftop.

As he tried standing back up, dazed, a swift punch connected to his jaw.

He looked up and blinked, confused.

Breathing heavily, wet from head to toe, was his friend.

His best friend...

"You.." the friend breathed out.

He stood up, staring at his friend with an impassive face.

"You crazy bastard!"

A second punch swung right towards his cheek.

"Don't cry.."

She said.

As she wiped away the single fallen tear from his eye, she kissed his forehead lightly with her soft lips.

He bowed his head down, holding her small, fragile hands between his larger ones.

"I love you. I love you." she whispered.

He looked up, studying her beautiful face.

It was soft. Those words he heard her say to him so many times..

But this time, those words finally reached into his ears, to his head, to his heart and finally down to his soul.

He felt heartache.

He now understood the meaning of those  words when they came out of and spoken with her voice.

He lowered his head down and kissed the back of her hand, as another tear threatened to fall out.

'Saranghaeyo..'

"What are you doing to do?" the friend asked.

The girl smiled, staring at the clear sky.

"Ah, it's such a wonderful day, isn't it?" she sighed happily.

"Hey,"

The girl turned around to look at her friend.

"Tell me.." he whispered, giving her a serious look.

The girl looked downward and smiled softly, sadly.

"I love him, because I love him, I believe in him and I'll continue to wait for him."

He held the gun firmly with experience.

Holding the gun close to the man's head.

"Go ahead, shoot me." the man demanded.

He stood still, unresponsive, his finger staying on the trigger.

The man let out a raspy laugh.

"Shoot me, and become the monster that you are."

His eyes narrowed, and he pulled the trigger.

"BANG!"

"BANG!"

"BANG!"

Three shots rang out.

The deafening sounds echoed.

"Become the monster that you are."

'"And become the monster that you are...'"

"Monster..."

"Become..."

"You..."

The man's last dying words replayed into his mind and etched deep into his heart.

He swallowed hard and teared away from looking at the man's bloodied dead body.

"Ha...ha..." he let out a weak, throaty laugh.

"That's right..." he said, to no one in particular as he stood by himself in the isolated, dark warehouse. 

Then, turning his head around to look at the man he just killed, he glared at the corpse.

"I'm... a monster." he whispered.
