Lyra
Description
It was easy to find Lyra, The Harp, by first finding Vega—one of the brightest stars in Earth's night sky.
But what if—just if—the star actually consisted of more than just shining particles?
What if it actually hid, life?
Lyra was more than just a star constellation. It was more than just a bright sky object. It didn't hold the harp as its title for nothing. Lyra possessed a millions of secrets we never knew. An entire new life was currently happening there. Creatures who looked like us, who spoke the way we did, and still breathed the air like humans.
They sang. And for each melody they voiced, could be heard throughout the entire universe.
This is totally inspired by some random questions I got in askfm.
And this still needs to be edited later on.
And the story's update is going to be super slow. Because I'm a post-graduate student who's still looking for universities to settle down.
And I'm not a native so mind the English (but hey, I'm trying!). So if you find any grammatical errors or misspelling then please do tell me and I'll fix that right away! :) Comments are loved, they will totally help me to improve!
Foreword
A little boy was running down the hill while screaming, trying to get away from his naughty brother’s catch. It wasn’t hard though, for the feet of the little boy were too short for him to take long steps. His brother quickly caught him and brought their joint bodies all the way down the hill. They giggled and playfully threw sand and grass at each other, laughing their heart off, eyes turning into crescent lines while enjoying each other’s companion.
Then they heard a voice. They heard something being hummed. The voice sounded so calm and soothing, soft and pure, it gave chills and warms all at the same time to the both of them.
“What’s that?” The little one asked.
“That, my brother, is a song.”
The little one tilted his head cutely, making his brother chuckled at him and ruffled his raven hair. Looking over at his younger brother, he then got up and walked quietly towards the source of the voice, his little one trailed behind him. A purple meadow soon filled their sight, the little one gasped with full of emotion and even bounced his body like a ball, his brother couldn’t stop chuckling at this action. He felt a thug at his shirt and looked down at his brother.
“What is a song?” He bluntly asked with round eyes.
“Well,” the oldest one crouched beside him. “our world is ran by a unique power. This power comes from the vibration of a melodious voices combined into one. Have you seen how mother tend our garden?”
His brother nodded.
“Have you seen how father cut down the trees, and turn them into logs?”
The younger nodded again.
“We don’t do it using our hands. This voice you hear, is the one that make it possible. Everything, every single thing in Vega—no, in the entire Lyra—is powered by song.”
He could see the admiration from his little brother, and oh how cute he was. He let his brother roamed around the lavender field for awhile, enjoying the relieving voice in the air. He sat there, directed his gaze toward the horizon and quietly sang a melodious tone along.
“Brother!” He turned at his little one, currently half-drowned between the high lavenders.
“I still don’t get this whole ‘song’ thing!” He shouted.
“It’s okay, Zitao. You’re still too young for this. You’ll learn it step by step while growing up!”
And by that, Zitao smiled ear-to-ear at his brother before running towards him and sat on his brother’s lap, watching the sun set and how its light lighten the entire Lyra.
