[EXP] Vultures' Dinner

Eosophobia I [Explanatory]

Welcome...

...Dear reader, to the very first explanatory chapter of the Rise of the Hazar-Addar! In this separate series of chapters, we will provide you with condensed background information regarding the vast and intricate world of Gihon and Earth.

The Angelic Realm

Gihon

The name of the realm where the angels lives, it literally translate from ancient angel language to “valley of grace”.

The Guard

The Guard is a group of highly-trained angels, who are responsible for keeping peace and reinforcing the religious and criminal laws within the angel realm. The Guard operates under a strict system of hierarchy, listed below.

    »The Cardinal

The Cardinal is the head of the Guard. It is a title that is given from father to son and is therefore kept within the family. At the time of our story, that family is the Kwon family, making them one of the two most influential families of Gihon.

    »The Virtues

The Ladies and Lords of the Virtues are the divisions within the Guard, who were established to ensure the proper enforcement of the laws in the realm.

Prudence

The office of Prudence is led by the Lord of Prudence, Bang Minsoo, amically referred to as “Cap”. He is considered to be the right-handman of the Cardinal and has the Page of Prudence, Lee Chunji, by his side. This office stands for the behind-the-scenes execution of the law. They are known to be ruthless and cold-blooded in their actions. They could, for example, be compared to the Navy Seals or secret services.

Justice

As the name suggests, this office is where the more public form of justice is practised, tending to the more common aspects of the angel society. It is lead by Kwon Boa, acting as Lady of Justice, and Kwon Sohyun, as the Page of Justice. The both of them are the daughters of the Cardinal, as it is common that the children of the Cardinal would take up high-profile ranks within the Guard.

Fortitude

The office of Fortitude is run by the Lady of Fortitude, Kwon Yuri, and acts as a form of police. These angels make sure the regular angels living in Gihon abide by the laws set by the Cardinal.

Temperance

Lastly, the Temperance office is run by Lord Lee Honggki, which specializes in the upholding of the religious laws of living.

Kelaiah

Translates to “Voice of the Lord”. Term used to describe the language spoken in Gihon. Words spoken in Kelaiah are in Corsiva

The Priest

The head of the Gihon Church. He is the spiritual leader of the angels, also working closely with the scholars to make sure all the scriptures are correctly stored. He has known the Cardinal since they were both admitted to their current position. Like the title of the Cardinal, the next Priest is usually a child within the own family, preferably the oldest male child, though this is not a requirement. Those children are typically raised with the task of priest on their horizon, making them the perfect and go-to candidate. The Priests typically take the name of the Priest before them, only ending the current dynasty once they feel a religious reform is in order.

Selah

term used by the angels to end prayers and blessings, their variant of amen. In ancient language it means “stop and ponder”.

Domine(e)

A man or woman of the Church focussing on religion and preaching it.

Scholars

Man and or women of the Church who focusses on the acquiring and preserving of knowledge.
