In a world that usually feeds us everything we wanted to, sacrifice has become a word not often heard by many.

Sacrifice. “Something given up or lost.”

Why does when the word sacrifice was heard, sad thoughts come along? Why does forlorn is the brother word of sacrifice?

Is it always “losing something or someone”? Or perhaps, “giving up something or someone?”

People hear this word and in an instant, they become afraid of something being away from them. Something will be lost or something has to be given up.

But I believe, sacrifice is success. An accomplishment of being able to give up something you’ve been holding on to for so long.

Just like what he did. He sacrificed to save me.

And now that everything is not the same, I’ll sacrifice to save him. To be with him. To never leave him.

Because sometimes, sacrifice is not about that thing or person you lost or given up. It’s about all the courage you took to be brave and give up something or someone you love more than yourself.
