A Pirate's Life for She

Description

Who says girls can't be pirates?

Foreword

The air was thin and cold as the robed figure streaked through the woods. The sound of gunshots echoed throughout the forest as he looked back at the approaching figures. As the woods started thinning out and the looming shadow of his ship grew larger, the man was suddenly was downed by a bullet to his calf. Swearing, he noticed his shipmate clambering down the ladder and held out the moving package he was carrying.

"It's a boy."

Those were the last three words he heard his friend mutter as he pushed the bundle to his stomach. He looked up as he heard the approaching light and shouts and quickly climbed onto the ship as it began to set sail. He peered into the bundle of rags as the ship swayed slowly from side to side and found a bawling baby girl.
