In Korea in the 1600s many people believed in witches.A witch could be an old woman, or a young woman-sometimes even a man or a boy.But they were usually women, and everybody was very afraid of them.Because a witch could kill you just with a curse.

In 1612, near Pendle Hill in (sry for the name.I don't know the other names n just like this name.so I put the name from the real story) Kangwon (sry.some random name) , lived a girl called Lee Sungmin. She was nine years old then, poor, thin, and always hungry.She has no shoes, no coat, sometimes nothing to eat for days.Nobody knew that she was really pretty, cute, beautiful and nice.Because she always wore dirty clothes. And because of her long, brown and messy hair.Anyway LIFE wasn't easy for Lee Sungmin.

And her grandmother,Old Kibum, was a witch. Her mother Heechul was a witch, and her sister Ryeowook.Even her poor stupid brother  Yesung was a witch....

Or that is what the villagers believed.
