He was my everything, that one person.
He had my heart, that one person.
He had my mind, that one person.
And he still has it and still is my everything.

“Byunghun-ah! Give it back to me!” He was playful back then, and still is. “I caught you!” I laughed at him and , now, he was fuming. “Yah! Yura! I was supposed to take that and you are supposed to beg me to give it back!” He whined and tried to catch me. “Sorry, but nope!” I stuck out my tongue. We were so close before, but now no.

Everything he did now, was about that girl. Everything he told me, was about that girl. He used said that he likes me. But now, I realized that everything was a joke.

The more I get closer to you,
My feelings grow bigger,
It scares me.

“Yah, shorty!” I rolled my eyes, “Stop calling me that!” But, I liked it somehow though, him having a special nickname for me and me having a special nickname for him. “Let’s make a bet!” I looked at him, bewildered. “What bet?” He smirked, “We are the forever alone duo, right?” I glared at him, “I said that-“ He stopped me, “Yes, we are~” He sing-songed, “Fine, what bet?”

“The first one who will date will treat the other one-“
“What?!” I interrupted him, “D-date?” He nodded while smiling, “Sorry, my mistake. The first one who will be in a relation-“ I interrupted him again, “Relationship?!”

“Stop interrupting me, Shorty!” I sulked, “Fine, continue.” He grinned and continued, “Will treat the other one food! Food!” I was shocked, my tongue was tied. That time, I really had the urge to scream at him that I wanted to be with him, not with another fool, but sadly, I kept quiet.

“Shorty… a penny for your thoughts?” I fidgeted, “I’m just thinking of my remaining money, because honestly, I will be the one who will be in a relationship first… instead, of you…” He glared at me, “You’re being rude again.” And sulked, “So, it’s on, right?” He suddenly brightened, I sighed heavily, “Of course.”

Such a precious person to me,
You, who won’t ever come to me again,
That’s okay for me though,
Because I love you.

It was our last year in High School, it was filled with tears. I searched for him and finally found him, he was looking at me the whole time. He suddenly smiled and mouthed, “You, come here.” That smile. I tried my best not to blush and quickly ran to him, “What do you want?” I crossed my hands and looked at him. “I will miss you.” And that’s it, the world seemed to stop and the one who’s moving was just the two of us. “W-what?” I choked out, “Byunghun-ah.”

He pulled me into a hug and there it goes, my heart beated so fast. “Why is your heart beating so fast, shorty? Do you like me, perhaps? Well, if that’s the cause, I like you too.” My eyes widened and I broke the hug, “You’re crazy!” He smirked, “Hey, even if I will not continue here in Sungkyunkwan, you will still contact me, right?” I looked at him, “No!” And stuck out my tongue.

“Heyy! You have to, shorty!” I made a face, “Why should I?” He smirked and placed his face beside my right ear, “Because I like you and you like me.” I blushed after those words and he looked again at me, “Why are you blushing, shorty?” I laughed nervously, “It’s hot.” That time was the first time I realized, I’m not crushing at him anymore now. I love him.

The one person who can’t see me though I am looking

Do you even remember me?

Just once, please.

I paced back and forward, waiting for a reply from Heejin. The phone buzzed and I quickly jumped onto the bed,

“Yoomi-yah! He’s coming! Byunghun is coming!”

I bit my lower lip and typed a reply.

“You sure?”

My phone buzzed again. I quickly read the reply and sighed. He’s coming, he’s really coming. That one person is really coming.

“Happy birthday Jinnie! Happy birthday Jinnie! Happy birthday to you Jinnie~~ Happy birthday Jinnie!” Everyone clapped and popped their confettis, Heejin grinned widely. “Thanks guys, for coming!” I smiled at her, she’s finally 19. But suddenly, a big clap was heard. It was him, Byunghun. And that clap, was his signature clap.

“Happy birthday Heejin ah!” He ran to Heejin and gave her a paper bag, “Thanks Byunghun!” I glanced at him, after a month not seeing each other, I finally saw him. Everything was awkward between the two of us, everything. I glanced up at him again, and discovered that he has been glancing at me too, I blushed and quickly went away.

“Hey! Let’s go to the arcade!” My head shot up, “Arcade?” And soon, we were in an arcade on Gangnam. I sat on a nearby chair when someone nudged me and pulled me out, I turned back to glare at the person and it was him. “Get away,shorty. I’m tired of standing.” And he smirked.

My heart fluttered again, he remembered me. I sulked, “Get away, jerk!” That was the nickname, his nickname. I finally got to say it again. I missed him. “Do you miss me, shorty?” I laughed, “Nope! Never did once!” And stuck out my tongue again, he ruffled my hair and smiled tenderly, “I missed you, though.”

“Fine, I missed you too, honestly.” I blushed, he laughed, “I was joking, though.” I glared at him and punched him, “You think that’s funny?” He nodded while clutching his arm, “Yep.”

I sat together in a table with his classmate who was Heejin’s friend too, “You’re Yura, right?” Haera, the girl, asked me. I nodded, “You know what?” She continued, “That Byunghun, is so popular in our campus.” I was shocked, “Him? What a joke.” I snorted.

“I am not kidding though.” Haera chuckled, “Anyways, just saying, he seemed to take an interest in a friend of mine. He cared about her too, like really really cared.” My smile faded, “Who is that?” She smiled, “Her name is Dani. Song Dani.” My heart ached, so was he joking all this time?

The only thing I can do is cry but

My last wish is that one person, you.

Since that time, we never met each other anymore. No coincidences, no asking each other out, nothing. Everything we did was just to message each other, and believe it or not, that is only once a month. But, since December, there was no contacting each other anymore. We grew really distant and seemed like strangers now.

“New timeline update from Byunghun!”

I quickly checked the timeline, scrolled, scrolled and scrolled again. Until it hit me. He was in a relationship, Lee Byunghun was in a relationship. Lee… jerk hun… My heart stopped, I stared at it and rubbed my eyes harshly. It was too sudden, it was too shocking, it was too fast, and it was too hurtful.

My tears dropped without my permission, it hurts a lot. After all these times, he never did once see something in me, never did once. He was joking, that one person was joking.

What hurts the most was not the fact that he was in a relationship, but was the fact that he lied. All these times, those high expectations was a lie. Everything. And that was stupid of me to expect, when it was all a lie. I was stupid, I was fooled, by that one person.

“Hey Byunghun, who’s Song Dani? Do you like her?”

“Of course not, she is just a friend. I will always like you, only you.”

Just as much as I love you
Each minute and each second hurts so much
