[Hayoung, 16 years old]

(Hayoung was walking when Changjo runs past. He catches a thrown ball and grins at her.)

Hayoung: Show-off.

(Changjo grins wider, walks up to Hayoung and hugs her.)

Changjo: Bogoshipo~

Hayoung: (blushes) We had History together two hours ago...

Random Person: (whoops)

(Changjo twines his hands on Hayoung's)

Changjo: Kaja~!

setting: park, doing homework

 

Hayoung: Chakaman, BO? Why is your answer 251? Did I get it wrong?

(Changjo stares at Hayoung.)

Hayoung: Chanjo? Changjo!

Changjo: Oh! You're supposed to factor this in the equation.

Hayoung: (suspicious) What were you looking at?

Changjo: Nothing.

Hayoung: Uh-huh. You were totally out of it! (gasp) Are you cheating on me? Is there someone else?? (panics)

Chanjo: (turns Hayoung's face toward his) NO. There is no one else. Arasseo?

Hayoung: (murmurs) Well, you're pretty popular...

Changjo: Do you not trust me?

Hayoung: Oh, I trust you...her, on the other hand.

Changjo: (raises eybrows) Her?

Hayoung: Yes. The "other" girl.

Changjo: (sighs) There is no other girl. (smiles) I was just thinking...you're quiet at school and so different around me. More happy.

Hayoung: (blushes and looks away) Yeah, well, I'm more comfortable around you, I guess.

Changjo: (laughs) I guess. (serious) Can I kiss you?

Hayoung: No.

Changjo: Why not?

Hayoung: Because. We've had this conversation before. Enough.

Changjo: You never tell me why--

Hayoung: I want my first kiss to be special.

Changjo: I'm not special enough for you.

Hayoung: No. I---

Changjo: It's okay, Hayoung. I understand.

[No, I don't think you understand.]

setting: classroom

 

[Because if you did, why did we walk home in silence?]

Hayoung: (comes in and yawns) Aagh, good morning~!

C.A.P: Good morning, Hayoung. How are you?

Hayoung: Ugh, tired. School should start at 11 am.

C.A.P: And end at 11:02 am?

Hayoung: Exactly!

C.A.P: (laughs) Always the optimist about school.

Hayoung: Yeah....that's me! Have you seen Changjo oppa?

C.A.P: (frowns) Andwae. But I'll help you look for him.

setting: hallway

 

(Hayoung and C.A.P walking)

Hayoung: Oh, hey, there he is. Changjo oppa~!

(Changjo doesn't respond)

Hayoung: Maybe he didn't hear me. Changjo! (runs to Changjo) Yah!

Changjo: (turns away)

Hayoung: Wha?

C.A.P: Hayoung....

Hayoung: Changjo? Is this about yesterday?

Chorong: Changjo? Shi Yoon-sem wants to know where the papers for the fundraiser are.

Changjo: Okay. (walks with Chorong)

Hayoung: ....PABO! (runs away)

C.A.P: Hayoung! (runs after Hayoung)

[I knew it. He didn't understand.]

C.A.P: Hayoung? Kenchanha?

Hayoung: (wipes tears & sniffs) I'm fine. Mianheyo you had to see that.

C.A.P: ......Why do you even like him? He's rude. He shouldn't make you cry.

(C.A.P holds Hayoung's shoulders.)

C.A.P: It'll be fine. He'll come around.

Hayoung: I sure hope you're --- mmrf!

(C.A.P kisses Hayoung)

Changjo: YAH, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?? (pushes C.A.P off Hayoung)

Hayoung: Changjo, stop!

Changjo: YOU'RE DUST! (moves to punch C.A.P)

Hayoung: CHANGJO! (holds Changjo's arm and gets thrown off) Agh! Ow...

Changjo: Hayoung?

C.A.P: Hayoung?

(Hayoung stands up, walks to C.A.P and punches him)

C.A.P: Ow!

Hayoung: (turns to Changjo) And you! Don't talk to me. (marches off then stops) Ow! I think I sprained an ankle.

(Changjo cathes up with Hayoung, swoops her up, and carries her to the nurse's office. Hayoung turns her head away from him)

 

setting: nurse's office

 

Nurse: Oh dear. What happened?

Changjo: She might have sprained her ankle.

(Changjo puts Hayoung on the bed. Nurse checks her ankle.)

Nurse: I see. Well, we're out of bandages. I will be right back. (leaves)

Changjo: (sits on the floor in front of Hayoung) Hayoung?

Hayoung: (ignores him)

Changjo: Mianhe~ (buries face on her lap) I was mad. I thought I wasn't special enough for you. Then I saw you with C.A.P hyung.... (clenches fist) and I snapped.

Hayoung: You don't understand. You're very special to me. How could you ever think you aren't?

Changjo: I---

Hayoung: You got it wrong. (holds Changjo's face in her hands) I wanted OUR first kiss to be special. I wanted it to be with you. 

(They kiss.)

Nurse: Ahem. 

(They jump back away from each other, blushing.)

Nurse: Now let me see your ankle.

[Meanwhile, oustide the nurse's office.]

C.A.P: All in a day's work. (cries) I love happy endings. But...it hurts. (refers to Hayoung's punch)
