"Did you know that our roles, for us dragons, is to keep a certain balance on this Earth? 'Fire', something you all connotate with destruction and harm, is, for us, a means to keep populations on land under control and a method of creating more land whenever lt is too dangerous to just destroy it all. 'Water' is pretty self explanatory: it is used to purify and to heal; Water dragons, usually, are the ones to hold this power above all else and can only use it when appropriate. And finally, 'Earth'."

He paused a moment to stare back at Yixing, then back to the bark his hand rested lightly on. 

"Earth...we breathe life into the land Fire dragons destroy to create; we care for the animals and foliage, the trees, flowers-everything you touch and walk on. Water helps those what we plant grow and prosper, while rivers and streams carry the fresh water we care for back to the ocean to replenish it. In this sense our elements cannot live without the other."
